Heya, you can although it won't have as much flavour punch as using a cheddar or tasty cheese. It will also cook a little quicker and brown quick on top, so keep an eye on it, and cover with aluminium foil if it's cooking too quick.
Hey Ben, they aren't, but you can pop them in the microwave to cut down on cooking time. Full recipe instructions are over on the blog 😁: www.wandercooks.com/potato-bake/
every time make something like this without boiling the potato first , after 1 hour still didn't cook well , you eat the potato a little bit raw , so the trick is put an aluminium foil on the top ?
Heya, sounds like it's just not cooked enough (we say 1 - 1.5hrs usually) but it can be depend on these things: oven temperature variation, how thick you sliced the potatoes, the type of potatoes and finally how long you cook them for. The aluminium foil helps heaps, as it may look cooked on top but not be ready, so by adding the foil and cooking for that extra day 15-30mins, it will help keep the moisture in the potatoes to cook them and not burn the cheesy top. 😁 Make sure you read the full post for all our tips along the way - www.wandercooks.com/potato-bake/ - sounds like you're super close to perfecting the recipe. ☺️

You can always add the cheese towards the end
@@melay1162 you can, just be careful the top layer of potato doesn't dry out without the layer of cheese to hold in some of the moisture. :)
Are the sliced potatoes cooked already or not
