The lyrics of this song are so insanely deep because the theme of the game (while very anti-war) is very: “Choose violence when you have no choice, choose overwhelming violence.”

Revengeance: The act of using violence fo achieve peace.
I also like how they rewrote the lyrics to be more different, yet very fitting.
@THE LORDE it’s written at a high level that most videos games just aren’t. The fact that some people have unironically said that “Raiden should joint Armstrong” missed the actual content of his speech. They got pulled up by the clear propaganda aspect of it and the reason Raiden doesn’t is because he was one of those “weak” people and he’s heard it all before.
Raiden/Jack one of the best written characters in the history of video games.
@@matthewwolfe9417 Eh, not quite. At the end Raiden realizes that he saw himself as one of the weak people while Armstrong saw Raiden as always having been strong. Raiden saw weakness and strength in external terms: oppressed and oppressor, small and large. Armstrong saw strength in terms of character and soul: Raiden didn't break, didn't fall apart, managed to claw his way back to sanity from being a child soldier. To Armstrong, the weak are those who harm others in order to sustain their decadence, those who exploit others. In Raiden's eyes, I'm sure that he would see the military-industrial complex as the strong oppressing the weak, while to Armstrong it's the weak oppressing the strong, keeping them from being able to exercise their inner strength. It's why in the end Raiden is using Armstrong's own lines, and why the argument finishes with Raiden simply declaring that he'll kill Armstrong: he didn't have a rebuttal. Armstrong may have died, but he won the argument, and passed his values on to Raiden.

NGL, The thought of Vergil being shocked that the Yamato, on the first pass through, couldn't cut Armstrong, and getting shocked is amazing.

@@alteragosagin4211 I agree, but the first strike would do little against Armstrong. After all, It'd be impossible to have a sheathe for The Yamato if it could actively cut everything. Vergil has to focus for that.

@@ModernAegis why would it be her? this is a band, not just a singer. It's not impossible or even that improbable she had some part in it, but your claim of it being all her is certainly unfounded to at least the same extent as the mention of likely writers
@@nerdyspinosaurid Why wouldn't it be the singer, though? Isn't it more efficient if the singer writes the lyrics and the other members write the music? I realize this is a cover, but it should still hold true here.
Besides, the point is more that a group of dedicated writers is just ludicrous. It's infinitely more likely that someone in the band, probably the singer, did this, and they didn't just ask someone else to give them new ideas. These guys have soul.

As a longtime fan of the Metal Gear Franchise, it makes me happy that even after so many years, there are still people out there making content around it. And with Metal Gear Rising being one of my favorite games, and 'It Has To Be This Way' as one of my favorite songs, this cover brought me so much joy.
To the singer, guitarist, and everyone at GO!! Light Up! who made this possible, thank you and keep on rocking!
I believe the song draws people in due to the meaning of it not just cause it's catchy.

“So many have burned, Its high time we take the blame” is an insanely good addition to this already amazing cover, considering Raiden and Armstrong *both* have somewhat good intentions and *both* go about them in ways that put the world in harms way, Armstrong obviously more than Raiden. Really drives home that this song is from both Raiden and Armstrongs perspectives. The extra verse is an example of what really smart artistic liberty looks like, great job👏 .
This wasn't just a cover, this was a whole revision with that new part and you captured the mood perfectly. Good job.

I'd love to see a cover of Stranger I Remain. I feel your voice is perfect for that song. as for thoughts on this cover I loved it the inclusion of those original lyrics caught me off guard when I first heard it.

Wow, that encore hits hard. I've always interpreted the original lyrics being about how Raiden is coming to terms with the fact that he might be the same as Armstrong, yet pushing forward despite the uncertainty. The additional lyrics have a really fatalistic touch, more reminiscent of credits Raiden rather than Armstrong-fight Raiden, acknowledging all the things he hadn't quite come to terms with during the battle. _There's no right no wrong_ , _It's high time we take the blame_ and _I _*_know_*_ new life will be born_ are all great spins on the original lyrics that flip the whole theme of the song on its head.

mgr is one of if not my favorite games of all times and one of the reason is the amazing music, every single song is amazing and thats why im always so sad to see the lack of covers, you cover bringed joy to my heart, armstrong is THE final boss of any game and the final theme is one of the best final boss themes of all the videogame history, the remix and your voice were a wonderfull mix, thanks for creating this!!!

So many years and this song is still so epic.
This is now my favorite version of this song. Your voice works so well with this song and the additional lyrics add an amazing amount of depth to an already amazing song.
It's crazy because at some points in the song it seemed like they weren't doing anything crazy with the vocals to stay on the "safe" side-- but then she hit "BENEATH THE BLOOD STAINED SAND" with SUCH intensity, and it was FANTASTIC. Seriously gave me chills. Really hope we get to hear more of that all-out, risk-taking earnestness going forward.

It's effectively a conversation between the protagonist and the final boss of metal gear rising. How both characters are doing what they do to change the world for the better and shouldn't be fighting eachother.
And yet they have to tho both wish it wasn't so. There's a reason this song fits so many fights with the same theme.
And how both understand EXACTLY why they fight. But the world one wants is fundamentally antithetical to the other.
And they both willing, maybe even eager, to die for their ideology.
Hence:

O mais legal dessa música em específico é que no jogo ela fala sobre o que o Raiden sente em relação ao Senador Armstrong.
Tipo no começo "Standing here i realize you are just like me" (bem aqui eu percebi que você é igual à mim).
O que é muito legal, já que eles dois realmente se identificavam e ambos tinham o mesmo objetivo que era acabar com as guerras, a diferença é que eles usavam métodos diferentes para isso, e por isso precisaram se enfrentar.
