There is no loss in grit or lower register vocals compared to the original which I have at times felt on some of the other mgr covers. These vocals are imo way better than the original! Even more tangentual things like the visual effects, the rocking out in front of the camera and the pacing and timing between shots is just on point! You all deserve as much praise as I could possibly give you, and I hope you take to heart all the praise you've received from all of us. Can't wait for the rest of the mgr covers. My final hope is that, after Red sun and Stains of time are done, you also set some time to do The hot wind blowing. I think it's up there with the other greats. Cheers from Norway!
You absolutely NAILED this one, and I personally think your custom lyrics in the second verse are the best out of all of your Metal Gear Rising covers (which is saying alot, you did really good on all of them.) You fully understood the message of the song, and rode with it and made it even better. Hats off to you! And by the way, you rocked that suit. Absolutely slaying.
I said before that these aren't just covers but remasters. With this song in particular, I think I can honestly it's an outright perfected version. I always felt like the original was a case of "I wish there were more lyrics but it can be argued it doesnt need more" and this version not only proves it can work with more lyrics, the lyrics added in question (just like every other MGR cover you guys did) are _beautifully_ on point in continuing the themes and message of the original version. No matter how many times I listen I don't think I'll ever be able to put into words just how much I adore these MGR remasters you guys made!!!
This is great! It captures everything collective consciousness has going for it perfectly. I'm super excited to see Red Sun, Stains of Time and Hot Wind Blowing!
Beat the game for the first time last night. You do not want to know how many times I listened to this song while I stood there with no healing items for the final boss fights. (I know Armstrong has his own theme but he is just so epic he gets a multistage boss fight where the weakest mode is a 5 story tall mech with dual wielding giant swords and Death Star lasers.)
Funnily enough, this IS Armstrong's theme-it's about his Social Darwinist philosophy and even plays during the battle against him in the Jetstream DLC. "It Has To Be This Way" is RAIDEN'S theme.
@@UnderDoge-gg9to Not really, while this is in a way Armstrong's theme, it is the opposite of Armstrong's ideology, which advocates for people to have control over their own lives, fighting for what they believe and in support of extreme individualism.

LYRICS
The unenlightened masses
They cannot make the judgement call
Give up free will forever
Their voices won’t be heard at all
Display obedience
While never stepping out of line
And blindly swear allegiance
Let your country control your mind
(Let your country control your soul)
Live in ignorance
And purchase your happiness
When blood and sweat is the real cost
Thinking ceases, the truth is lost
Don’t you worry
You’ll be told exactly what to do
I give my people the lives they need
The righteous will succeed
The fires of greed will burn the weak
So we’ll make freedom obsolete
Making whole the fabric of society
Collective consciousness controlled as you will see
(Let your country control your soul)
(Let your country control your soul)
(Let your country control your soul)
(Let your country control your soul...)
The passive backward masses
Are the result of what I’ve sought
A shepherds might surpasses
The sheep who need to know their slot
Display prosperity
While never having what to choose
Indifference is equality / makes you equal
Let your country control the truth
Live in ignorance
And purchase your happiness
You’ll never learn of the real cost
Until you lose what you love the most
Don’t you worry
I’ll make world a better place to live
Where everyone will be rich and free
Or is it just for me?
The fires of faith will burn the weak
We’ll silence all who disagree
Making whole the fabric of society
Collective consciousness controlled as you will see

Even more tangentual things like the visual effects, the rocking out in front of the camera and the pacing and timing between shots is just on point! You all deserve as much praise as I could possibly give you, and I hope you take to heart all the praise you've received from all of us. Can't wait for the rest of the mgr covers. My final hope is that, after Red sun and Stains of time are done, you also set some time to do The hot wind blowing. I think it's up there with the other greats. Cheers from Norway!

Лучший кавер на MGR который я слышал)
Солидарен
мне очень нравится ,что тут текста дополняются
оригинальная песня слишком короткая
The unenlightened masses
They cannot make the judgment call
Give up free will forever
Their voices won’t be heard at all
Display obedience
While never stepping out of line
And blindly swear allegiance, let your country control your mind (let your country control your soul!)
"The un-en-li-ghtened ma-sses" YOU GOT ME 30 SECONDS IN AAAAAAAA ~
You absolutely NAILED this one, and I personally think your custom lyrics in the second verse are the best out of all of your Metal Gear Rising covers (which is saying alot, you did really good on all of them.) You fully understood the message of the song, and rode with it and made it even better. Hats off to you!
And by the way, you rocked that suit. Absolutely slaying.
I didnt even notice the second verse was written for the cover. I thought this was genuinely the whole thing.
I love the suit, goes very well with the song and senator armstrong
“WHAT THE FUCK IS A KILOMETER🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸!” -Senator Steven Armstrong probably
This cover will help me a lot while thinking about the main villain of my story, or when trying to draw her in practice. ^_^
@@UnderDoge-gg9to Actually no. If you listen to what he says "live in ignorance and purchase your happiness" is the exact opposite of his ideals. This is what Raiden *thinks* Armstrong is about.
one of the many things i love about this cover is that the track is extended and the extra part of the track sounds like it's always there
It's a shame that at this time, just a small amount of people will understand the true meaning of the added lyrics. Let's just hope the world would come to sense soon. But the one thing I know for real, that you guys will be safe with your work, as in no way google, spotify, patreon, etc. could prove your politic view in any of those masterpieces!
Keep up the great work!
the one and... only thing you know for real?
That's a nice cover GO!! Light Up!, but can you back it up with a source?

I was reading the comments, so expected some fire added lyrics. And yet you still managed to suprised me with how awesome they were. Legendary behaviour
Very nice!
Now waiting for "The Stains of Time". Love your covers so much!
The guitar is sounding perfect for a "God of Death" from the game Hades, and I can't unhear it.
One of my Favorite Tracks from MGRR, very happy to see you cover it!
She's got my vote.
Great cover! Really well done! The additional lyrics fit the song and the topic of it. Keep going like this!
As a suggestion: Stains of time.
The Stains of time, what an exquisite theme
@@drsatanrx Themes, Jack. The DNA of the soul.
No type of musical cover is better than one that creatively adds it's own lyrics to the songs whilst still retaining the overall theme and meaning of the song
All of your covers are so amazing!! 😊I can't wait for Red Sun
3:23 "Or is it just for me"
She really nails that.
Can we get instrumental version of this, sounds so good, great job on my favorite Metal Gear Rising OST

-I'm my own Master Now

Love the 1984 references. Looking forward to the next one
Good LORD the excellent voice *and* the new lyrics in the second verse? This is an amazing cover in every sense of the word. I would *love* to hear "A Soul Can't Be Cut" or "Dark Skies" covered too. Those normal battle themes never got the love they deserve.

Фу жмильWeak. Зельстронг истинная база. Слава Украине!
Yet another amazing cover! I especially like the addition of the extra lyrics, kinda keeps the songs fresh! Keep the good tunes coming!
Dios, me encanta que superen la calidad en sus videos!
Se nota que le han puesto mucho esfuerzo y dedicación
I have a feeling this is the anthem of 2024 for many. This cover smacked hard and love the lyrics in the second half. It amplifies the original message while adding subliminal vibes. Projects an authoritative 1984 feel. Happy New Year
we know something about oppressive authoritan government. Better than we want to, actually :') Happy New Year to you as well
@@GOLightUp thanks and be well.
I'm embarrassed to admit I heard where you guys are from, saw your song list, and made judgments based on the worst of your citizens. So glad to be wrong. Please accept my apologies!@@GOLightUp
This is perfect!!! If I can suggest, you guys should do "The Hot Wind Blowing" next
Alright i gotta admit i was having a high spectative, but this is even better than i though, even some extra lyrics! My God! It's so great!
2:08 morbius
ok ok jokes aside, this is a really good cover. the added lyrics fit in PERFECTLY with the song!
Its nanomachines time!
"Why won't you MORB!"
"Nanomorbchines, son! They morb in response to morbical trauma! You can't morb me, Michael Morbius!"
- Senator Michael Morbius
I'm proud and happy to have been your supporter for years :) Combining game music with a message to/about society and current events: I think you have reached a new level of artistic expression!
Never anticipated a song about rewriting america through the power of a metal gear, an absolutly shredded senator and nanomachines sung by a woman with a french accent instead of Jimmy Gnecco.
I fucking dig it.
All of your MGR songs are great. Plus the extra lyrics are a nice touch. Catchy as hell too.
It's a Russian accent tho
Guys, you’re good as always! Waiting for your next covers, the effects in this video provoked my goosebumps! This is SO well done!
Yknow, there's just some things that tell you that this is a person's favorite song.

This cover went overkill I love it, your details makes the cover more unique in my point of view; outstanding job as always.
This theme fits IngSoc from 1984 very well. Nice references to it, by the way.
the tuxedo was an amazing touch!!
Now we just need Hot Wind Blowing to finish the OST's. Oh, and Stains of Time.
This cover song hasn't received the love it deserves!
Brilliant performance by you guys!

I love your spin on this, keep it up guys.
if only someone could mod these covers into the game, sadly the game is super difficult to mod so ive heard
My favorite song from MGR and you guys killed it! Keep up the great work!

Hi, I'm new here. Have you ever done a sabaton cover before? I know some of them can be controversial, particularly right now, but I think a Sabaton song coming from you would sound amazing. In particular, could you please look into Long Live the King, Dreadnought, or Midway? Those are just my personal favorites. Also, badass cover. MGRR music is amazing
Now we just need someone capable of remixing this with All I Want For Christmas.
