Hi Homemakers, it't time to turn our thoughts to holiday planning. Checkout my Thanksgiving 101 playlist to help you get situated. Here's the link: ruclips.net/p/PLLY9dO87sGSz1qaWfdj1lQ6HPcphDVLAJ.
This was great Denise! None of the kids wanted all the Hallmark ornaments people had given to them over the years, so out they went! Makes life easier to let go of unwanted items. ❤️
@@homemakingwithdenise I'm going to make a decluttering video when I go through my Christmas stuff. Did you see that I posted my first video on Monday? I made a video of my Driveway Giveaway and I included one of my poems at the end.
Great tips! I generally pack up my Christmas decor by room whenever possible. I have decluttered a lot these last few years. Currently have a total of 6 bins including two which are tree ornaments and accessories. I’d love to have even less to manage. I will definitely be looking to declutter as I decorate this year!
Hi Denise. I do intend to purge some our decorations. I have toomany and now is time to bless someone else with the overflow. Thanks for sharing and happy decorating.
Great tips for Christmas shopping and decor I’m looking at my containers now this is on time I’m decluttering removing things I don’t need tfs blessings
As I take down my decorations each year, I note what I will need for next year. I date the list and tape it outside the box front and center so I can access it easily when needed.
Great tip regarding donating items Denise! I pull together donation boxes for pickup at least twice a year. Recently, a neighbor put out to trash a gigantic world globe map that had a cherry wood stand. It was high end and very attractive. It only needed a replacement screw to fix the wobbly base. I rescued it so that it could be donated. Homeschool parents need things like this! Pickup socks and sweaters on sale for kids that can go in the donation boxes also. Dollar tree has great school supplies and coloring books that can be donated.💝
Thanks for sharing Denise! I really do need to start to declutter my Christmas decorations. I am going to declutter my fall decor before I store it away. 🙂
Tfs Denise. I have so much Christmas stuff. I have about 6 tubs in my storage room plus tons of shoe box container in my craft room closets I use for my journals. It does get overwhelming, but I'm addicted to Christmas things. Also some of the stuff is used for Christmas craft shows which I have 2 coming up. Since we were not able to do shows last year because of covid there was more stuff. I'm going to try and declutter my home decor by getting rid of what I wont use this year. Again thanks for the tip.
Hahaha! I started on this during Christmas in July so my first pass blessed some people at the thrift shops. After I decorate for Christmas, I’ll bless my family.
Thank you Denise for these great tips! This year I am planning to have hubby bring down bins from loft earlier this year so I have time to declutter and pass on some to grown children.
Hello Denise, I’ve decluttered my decor thoroughly over the years and I feel less overwhelmed thinking about pulling it all out. 😊 I add simple holiday touches to my current decor to simplify. All the best, Julie 🌷
Denise, again, I love your top. This was super helpful. I am about to put away my Halloween decor. We are having a smaller holiday celebration this year since we lost my father in law last year at Christmas. We moved my mother in law so she’s coming to stay with my husband and I. Maybe, could you do, making a house guest comfortable? Organizing their room?
Hi Alyssa, I can certainly get that on the list. It might make a good topic for the Thursday live show. Speaking of which...this week's show will be an important one. We are dealing with stress, grief, and the holidays only it will be on Wednesday instead of Thursday this week. The special guest is only available on Wednesday so we moved our usual time to accommodate her due to the importance of the topic. Be sure to join us or catch the replay. It's at 7:45 PM Wednesday this week. I am sorry you lost your father -in -law. We lost our mom last year and I tell you, Christmas was a bit different. What with Covid and all, I was a mess. This Christmas, God willing, will be much better. Be sure to jump on Thursday.
Great list. I just moved but I didn't declutter my holiday decor. So I will do so as I'm decorating. Now that I live in a much smaller house, I don't need so much.
Denise this is a great video I did decluttered my Christmas stuff last year but I’m gonna go back through it and see if I can downsize some more things that I just kept I need to pass them on donate so this is really a great video thank you for sharing and I love that red apron that is absolutely gorgeous I love your videos maybe one day I can afford to buy one of your aprons. Please keep up the videos I’ll keep on watching him have a blessed day
Hi Wendy, I go live as a rule every Thursday at 7:45 PM EST. That's scheduled. I try to do some kind of prepping related topic on Sundays. They usually drop around 2 PM but it all depends on when I get them done. This video is part of a monthly collab that drops on the first week of every month. I will set it to Premier therefor "Live" if I know I can sit in front of the computer and interact with my viewers. Other than that, they are pop ups. But...that being said...I am going to try to put in my schedule to do a small but fun live some other time throughout the week. I've got a Grove collaborative haul to do maybe tomorrow since my usual Thursday live will be on Wednesday this week only. We've got a special guest and she's only available on Wednesday since she does counseling sessions every Thursday. This will be an important show so don't miss it. Or....if you're unavailable, catch the replay.

I love your green and red bins, Denise! I need those in my life! Right now we have an assortment of boxes and some are missing lids. This was great!
Hi Jennifer. The holiday bins are really helpful. I know right away which ones have Christmas decor. I picked them up at Target and Walmart.
Love this Denise! Yes, purge it all down to fit the storage bins. Love this collab! Great video 🙂
💕
Several years ago I downsized my Christmas decor, I gave my children boxes of ornaments, etc. I donated whatever was left.
This was great Denise! None of the kids wanted all the Hallmark ornaments people had given to them over the years, so out they went! Makes life easier to let go of unwanted items. ❤️
Thanks, Denise. Great tips! I plan to put out Christmas decorations early this year so I can declutter.
That’s my plan, too. I’m going to do Vlogmas so I need the decor up early. But…what doesn’t get used can be donated.

@@homemakingwithdenise Can't wait to see the Vlogmas video!!!
New subscriber. I absolutely love the Christmas season. I'm ready to decorate!! But first I definetly need to declutter.
Denise, I started turning my kitchen from fall to Christmas. I am giving a sneak peek on Saturday.
TFS
So true what you are saying. Half my storage room is Christmas. So this is the year.
I like that good tip to set a timer to keep the declutter decision-making moving along! 👍🏽
Hello Mrs. Denise. Could we see how you set your hair. It is always so pretty.
I WILL APPLY THEM ALL. SHARED TO THE BURGH!

Great idea, Cheryl. If you’ve already decorated for fall, sort out the stuff you didn’t use. Pass it on.

What a wonderful lady, my thrift shop just gained a whole lot of decorations and I just gained a new shelf in my wardrobe!

Thank you Denise for these great tips! This year I am planning to have hubby bring down bins from loft earlier this year so I have time to declutter and pass on some to grown children.
Great idea. I’m going to do the same. Decorate early so I can declutter in time enough to pass decor on.
Great advice! I'm purging decor this year. Want to keep things simple. One crate for Christmas. I currently have three. That's on next week's list
Thank you, Nannie. I am finding that doing less does. Are me happier.
Love the tips especially the timer, this can used in home cleaning as well. Thank you
Oh yeah…the time is a game changer because you can’t ruminate. You look. Decide. Put it in a box. It just helps take the angst out,

That’s my goal this year…to simplify. I’m not going to decorate in as many spaces this year.
