All great tips, Denise! Setting out the clothes the night before is one of the best things I’ve ever started doing to help de-stress the mornings! I always regret it if I let this one slip 😅
I enjoyed this video. Although I am in my 70’s and children grown, I still practice and appreciate all the things you have mentioned. After raising three daughters, a grandson and three honorary children, as a busy working single mom, I can attest to the benefits of preplanning the day, setting clothes out the night before, meal planning, folding clothes straight out of the drier, etc. Years ago I worked for a company that used the Franklin Planner system for business, it included training ,etc. This was a life changer on every level. I admit there was a learning curve and I eventually adapted one for my unique personal life. I still use a planner, and get everything done that I need, my house is always clean and tidy, appts made and kept, and it even helps me stay on budget! This is a great video and collaboration that would benefit everyone! Don’t forget, it is a habit to be cultivated and a learning curve. Go at it piece by piece. By the way, I wear aprons too!
I ask my family for their breakfast orders the night before so I have as much prepared as possible. Ive always tried to batch cook and freeze evening meals but after seeing some great videos I’ve been batch cooking and freezing cooked breakfast choices too!
Oops! Hit send too fast on the chat. I use an Erin Condren and an Erin Condren notebook. My planner is for overview planning, then I write out/script my day and tasks the night before in my notebook. I check my notebook throughout the day (retired). Then cross out finished tasks. Each night I add what challenged me or kept me on track. Just kinda summing up how the day went/how I can do better, or give praise when I rock it out.
Nannie, it sounds like it's working for you. Tht's what is so important -- that you have a system that works for you. Hahaha! I'm retired to so I can check it throughout the day too.
Thank you so much for this, Denise. I just started getting into zone cleaning with the FLYlady last week after watching your video on zone cleaning. My time management issue is MY PHONE. Emails, messages, notifications- you name it. I get derailed multiple times daily. I know it makes sense to schedule it and leave it to the scheduled time, but I just can't seem to make that leap. Especially with personal messages.
What usually causes us to run late are a couple of my 7 kids that are NOT morning people and move so slow! How do I get them moving? These 2 kids are currently 13 and 15.
Instead of pajamas, have them wear their school clothes to bed. If they care about their appearance, they might make more of an effort. If they don't, their disheveled appearance is on them.
Great tips. When my now adult children were in school, one of my rules was "No hit and runs." This simply meant they had to show me notes and get any papers that needed filling out or signing the night before. Those being returns went into their backpacks which were place by the door. There were a few tears and panic when I first instituted this rule. "But, Mama, I won't get a sticker" or "I will have to miss recess." But, that let to some fruitful discussions and lessons about valuable lifeline lessons about natural and logical consequences of our choices and empowering them to become the independent, responsible adults they are today.
Hi my dear friend sorry I haven’t been over in about a month I need to get caught up on the videos I will see you probably in another week or two I have some more things to share with you about upcoming challenges thank you so much for all your love and support as always take care my dear friend Hope you are being safe and I still want to get one of your aprons I am so far behind on everything
Great tips!! Very inspiring. I like the idea of coordinating my phone calendar with my planner. For some reason I am more consistent with my phone. I never thought about coordinating the two.

Loved this! And there IS something about actually writing the "to-do" list on actual paper. I tried a list in my phone and it just isn't the same!
Kimmy sent me. You are a welcome face to this hurricane weary Momma! Looking forward to bringing your channel!! 🥰
Look forward to your videos.
Great tips I'm interested in how the new planner works for you

Hi, Denise! I do the same by setting up my day the night before. I follow fly lady, adapted to my needs. I also use a planner... What a game changer!

I do my laundry at specific times each week when I know I can be available to get my laundry out of the dryer and immediately put away.
