I love your point about being realistic with what we think we should be able to do as moms.
Favorite quote ☺️ “ Not a good long-term plan”
I love this 😂 and I can definitely relate
Lessons learned the hard way. 🤦🏻♀️
I like the idea of narrowing our focus on what’s in front of us. I believe multitasking is an illusive concept. Great video. Thank you. This was a fun collab.
I love the idea of a To Done list. I think it would be an encouraging way to feel more successful (or open my eyes to when I am wasting too much time). Thanks for the video!
It certainly has helped me, especially the wasting time. I can figure out how to waste some time now.
I really like that idea 💡. Writing down what was accomplished. But not necessarily Everything. I just need to Wright it down. Lol. I always feel overwhelmed with the things that need to get done daily and the other maintenance that are done once a week. And yes! The pushe and feeling to get everything done and ppl satisfied. Overwhelming for sure.
Here’s a holy buckets AMEN from MN! Love your honesty ♥️
"Keep it simple" is my motto. I know when I start feeling overwhelmed it's because I haven't done that! I learned to do the "Done List" for our homeschool years ago. Planning out a whole year/semester/month/week stressed me out because inevitably something came up during the week that threw the whole plan off. So, now I have a general idea of what we need to do, and just do the next lesson. Then I write down what we did in my homeschool planner. Interruptions aren't a big deal because I know where we left off. And when I feel unproductive I can see that we really did "do school" today.
You always encourage me with your honesty, insight, and reliance on the Lord. :)
That is so encouraging, thank you!
OMG the beginning of this video is HILARIOUS!!!! I'm dying! I'm literally laughing out loud hysterically right now. You are so funny Marybeth!
It was a lot of fun. My husband enjoyed pretending to be our kids...although I probably could have used actual footage. LOL.
I need to time myself to see how long it takes me to get ready and out the door! I’m usually 5 - 8 minutes late.
I'm new to your channel and love meeting a working mom like myself. I work from home as well. 😌 Loved your intro. LOL
Your intro 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Great video, loved your tips. You are right about multitasking. Better to just hone in on one thing at a time!
Thanks! I loved your video in the collab. And I forgot to add to my comment that the pictures of your dad were wonderful! I can tell you have some wonderful memories together.
Yes, there is TOTALLY a concept called a "done list!" I can't remember where I first came across it but there's even a website called I Done This where you can track your "dones." haha Your remark about something taking 45 minutes when you thought it would take 15 reminded me of something I read a long time ago that said that if something takes you 15 minutes to do ONCE on a really ideal day, you tend to think it will ALWAYS take only 15 minutes. I was like, "Dang! So true!"
This was one of my favorite videos of yours ever! So funny AND so helpful!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I am by no means a productivity expert, but it was fun to think about how best to get things done. And I'm glad that done list is actually a thing. :) What a pain it feels like with work, but it actually really helped me in figuring out so many things, especially where to start decluttering and simplifying.
Your opening was terrific …. Thanks. Wish i knew about Smallfoot years ago. M.
Loving your perspective. There's no clutter in heaven just His perfect peace. You're totally right on this issue of time. It's vital to little kids to feel heard and loved amongst all the things to do. God bless you xx loving all your videos :D
I'm so glad you are here!
This is an awesome video. My multi tasking is me having a lot of unfinished tasks lately. I needed this intentionality message.
I can be an expert at multi-tasking fails. I always just end up feeling overwhelmed and like I haven't done anything very well. Sometimes we just need to slow down and reduce what we are trying to do all at once. :)
@@TheAtWhatCostBlog you said it sister...lol
I'm really enjoying your channel!
While sharing my story at church and ministering, I mentioned your lovely website for interested people. The congregation has a lot of women (A LOT of stay at home moms, etc), so you may get some added viewers! Keep your good messages coming!
Thanks Bob! I appreciate that so much!
@@TheAtWhatCostBlog You're quite welcome! I'd also be happy to post my experience for your listeners should you ever do a story about making the most of the time we have and enjoying life while serving the Lord's will. Just let me know!
Great opening! 😆
🤩 To-Done List 🤩
Loved your intro! haha!
*HUGS* I’m thankful to God for using you ~and your oft amusing frankness 😂~ to reach, teach and help so many like me. 😅❤️
(Your talking up the stairs scene was spot on. 😆🙃)
That was a reenactment based on actual characters. 😂🤣😂 if you’ve not reduced wardrobes….total game changer!
I am a working mom. My work is part time but it still feels like I don't have time to get things done before everyone is home. I like the tracking your time idea. Is there any other tips for a mom that works outside of the home?
I can not stress enough simplifying as much as you possibly can! Figure out what takes the most amount of your time and figure out how you can simplify it. I think what has also helped me is to plan the time that I am home before everyone else gets home ahead of time. Otherwise I'm tempted to sit down for "a moment" and get sucked into some distraction and before I know it, everyone's home and my tasks have gone undone. If I know what I'm going to get done before hand, it helps me stay on track!
@@TheAtWhatCostBlog I've been trying to simplify.... getting the other four family members on board has been an obstacle. I've started with just my stuff personally and hope it catches on. 🤞🏼
The opening ...🤭👏
Every now and then I enjoy a little drama. 😁
what do you do for work? looking to wfh myself...
