Paper has been the bane of my existence, mainly b/c I am a “keeper” & b/c I taught English for 40+ years (lots of different courses each term), so I had an office filled with books & 6 filing cabinets of papers. Plus, I had tons of books at home & papers here too. Like you said, just starting on ONE area is so important. What has helped me is having a 3-tiered rolling shelving unit I got at Target. I can at least put the papers in there until I can deal with them. Good job. Keep it up!
Sending ❤ to you girl. This paper stuff can drive ya crazy.🤪 you're doing great. Wait until your next 15 minute declutter to take care of the piles. You made awesome progress.
Enjoy your realistic attitude toward life and clutter and habits and reality, etc. Also want to say that the olive green shirt you are wearing makes your eyes that color! It is very flattering! Have a great day!
I have been practicing the one touch rule. Just as it sounds, try to only handle the paper item one time. Most papers can be immediately tossed, shredded, filed, or in a short term to complete category. The short term is the only visible pile I keep in a basket on the desk. Deal with the short term once a week to keep things from being late or forgotten. A system of maintenance after decluttering is something I don't see in most decluttering videos but it's key to keeping it from happening again and again. Love your videos MB🌻
I agree! It’s easy to remember if you call it the OHIO rule (Only handle it once). I have a mail sorter on the wall with only three sections. One is for action items (what you call short term), one is for things I want to read at some point, and the other is for outgoing mail. Everything else can be recycled, filed immediately (important stuff) or put in my memory box
Hi, Marybeth! I'm decluttering my office now too. I made the mistake of making it multi-purpose, which resulted in it being zero-functional. Time to get it done! But this time, there will be decluttering involved in the setting up. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your office declutter.
You are always a blessing to me! Always! Thank you for sharing. I've been kind of going through some of the same things and it's a blessing to know that I will be able to get things under control...especially when I rely on the Holy Spirit to guide me. xx
Thanks Connie! We have had many challenges over the past few months, which have made videos difficult. But, I have a video going up tomorrow and hope to be back to a regular schedule. Thank you so much for checking in one me. 💕
Paper clutter... ugh, the dreaded piles!!! Lol, I loathe my piles, but I do find I am getting much much better at the inflow than previous. With that being said, I have years worth of I'll-do-those-later piles. LMK when your creative invention comes to market, me and my loved ones would find it very helpful
I'm glad I'm not the only one who develops piles of paper that have to be gone through. I thought it was just me. It's one of my least favorite things to declutter.
That opening cracked me up! Thanks for the great tips.
Intro was da bomb! 👏
Clutter detector nice! I need one!!!!

DEFERRED DECISION (yes! 🤦🏽♀️)
Dawn's book is AMAZING! Thank you for being real and letting us see your clutter. It's very relatable and appreciated!!!
Thank you so much!!

That is great advice! And I agree there's a little bit of a gap in the "after" decluttering. :)

@@deannday6930 I like that acronym better! I was raised in Ohio, so that will be easy to remember. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Melinda
Oh this is a tool I would LOVE!!
At thirty seconds my husband had to come in and see what made me laugh so! Thank you for that, and thanks for this video. I appreciate you!

That is so sweet Dianna! Thank you!
Looking forward to seeing your invention, probably better than what I am currently using!
I would love to see a video on organizing special needs “stuff”! I’m a special needs mom to 2 boys.
Marybeth…Just a note to let you know I hope all is well with you and your family. Missed seeing your videos this past month.

Love you and the information you present. Paper clutter is my nemesis😡

I need to get back to watching some content … cold weather coming 🇦🇺🙏🏻
I am confused, what was your new invention for paper clutter?
Maybe she filed that video in the wrong folder in her computer, but doesn't know which folder it's in.
Louise .. am wondering same thing!
I think it was her joke about the clutter-detector ;)
