  • David O’Mahoney was serving with the Queen’s Guard when he was hit by a taxi in 2011. The injuries to his brain were so severe that doctors encouraged his family to say their goodbyes and suggested turning off his life-support machine. But despite losing the right-hand side of his skull, David has defied the odds and today leads a purposeful life as both a motivational speaker and role-model to school children. Please take a few minutes to listen to his miraculous story. Military charities have played a huge part in David’s recovery and today he’s asking you to support the Veterans’ Lottery - the lotto dedicated to helping British veterans in need. This month’s jackpot is £50,000. Sign up here: www.veteransfoundation.org.uk/lottery/join

I agree. I just made a comment that he should be a model for men's clothing. He's a very handsome man, and I'd bet he looks great in anything he wears.😊

Phew! talk about inspirational, i think David is a hero in every sense. He fought adversity right through to the other side where life, although not perfect, became livable again. I sincerely wish only the best for him and a bright future ahead.

It’s a good job he was in the household cavalry at the time as he was probably coked out of his tits at the time which probably helped him.😂
All jokes aside I’m glad he’s recovering.

All I can think is those poor guys who actually fought for the country, and there's this guy who stood behind the Queen, getting to march the flag out?
It's extremely unfortunate he was hit by a taxi, but he wasn't fighting for the country. He didn't take a bullet for a friend/ colleague.
    Crazy to me.

The surgeons did the right thing, removing bone...
otherwise you would have "coned" and your family bereaved...
    Amazing recovery...
    Thank you for your service
