I've had the great privilege of working with these amazing men for a year, as a US Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class in Bahrain. Working long hours in our host nations Royal Bahrain Air Force, the Gurkhas would tell us stories of their lives and their service. Hardened soldiers having seen violent combat, to true gentlemen enjoying the company of their brothers in arms. They would keep us laughing and passing the time with games. But, when it came time to put in work, these men were efficient, thorough and tireless. Out performing our most physically capable US Sailors! These men have my highest respect and I am honored to have served with them.

I have loads of friends that are Muslim, and they are all amazing people, but these men come here to fight for ours and their country, offering a true and honourable service in exchange to be looked after and respected. I am in no way against Muslims or immigration, but how can you possibly say that a Muslim wanting to live here and do jobs anyone can do deserves it more than a top class warrior and loved Gurkha. Maybe think if you have a valid point before commenting disgusting stuff like that.

It's a sad fact that the Government will attempt to deport these brave souls from the UK when they have finished with their military service. *ANY* Foreign National that serves in the military that's not of their own for no less than 5-8 years or has been deployed in active war zones overseas should automatically granted an honorary citizenship and receive a right to remain if they so choose to.
There is no warrior race in the world that are braver, courageous and honorable in the world then the Nepalese Gurkha's and the British Government disrespects them by sending back to Nepal after they have fought and bled for British Ideals in far away foreign lands fighting enemies that arent their own.
Thank you to Joanna Lumley who has campaigned for these honorable folk to receive the same rights as British and Commonwealth counterparts. Brave hardworking folk like the Gurkha's will be welcomed with open arms and a credit to any community wherever they choose to settle.
I am of Chinese descent. But I was born in the UK. My parents are from Hong Kong but I will never forget that Gurkha's helped defend Hong Kong starting from 1814 and all the way to the handover back in 1997 as part of the British Army. You have bled for Britain and people of Hong Kong. There is no highest honor that can be awarded for your courage in the protection and defence of my countries
My deepest love and respect to you and thank you to you and your families.

The current white British people are a mishmash of Celts, Anglo Saxons, Norman’s, Viking’s and descendants of numerous other immigrant populations who have made the British isles their home over the last 2000 years.

Absolutely amazing discipline and when you think you can march with weight you are no match to these guys, they just yomp uphill and continue to smile all the way. Just massive respect for them, if all of the units in the Army were this disciplined the British Army would be indestructible. At the end of their service, they should be handed a British passport as a thank you from the UK.

I want to fight and die for my country but putting your life on risk for other countries makes no sense. Britishers will never fight for Nepal.

I read all the doubtful comments on the comment section. I think it is better that the British give passports only to illegal immigrants. That way, the British won't have to pay for recruiting the Gurkhas because the British won't have to fly overseas to a war because the Brits will be busy having a war inside Britain itself. Its been more than 200 years the partnership and friendship between the Brits and the Gurkhas and in-between that countless number of wars and sacrifices and still, still there is discussion on whether to pay the Gurkhas as much as the other boys or whether to give them and their family the opportunity to live in the U.K... while the politicians and other groups bring in people who are totally into killing and bombing Britain and massacring sons and daughters of the U.K. What the fuck.
