Don't be a lizard
You have two ears and one mouth; use them in that proportion. In other words, listen more than you speak.
Always call your section commander "mate" or "pal", it shows you care for them and always eyeball your PTI's, it shows you're paying attention!! Good luck chief!!
@@keithpringle3940 thank you mate
@@leightonbower4130 Fuck, No, don't do that, don't do that pal!! As you were, disregard my "advice"!! I was only joking, Ian Ruffs advice is the best so far, and Lucas's is decent too! Just keep your head down and get on with it, every fucker has their "shit" moments, they'd be lying if they said they didn't! Just enjoy it and it'll be over in a flash. One of my mates is an ex boy soldier and he came out late 2019 as the GSM for Liverpool district, boy soldiers tend to do well in their careers. All the best for your future mate!
Don't miss those days
Lol there is a tutorial for shaving at the start 😂😂😂
Do the Officers mess staff not wake Officers up and offer a nice cup of tea or coffee anymore?
Train hard take the pain ignore the injury’s and be mentally tougher than your enemy and fucking get on with it or expect to fail doing the real thing
Agreed!
so.. what happened with the rest of the Olympus Viking carry on?
On the way!
@@djrxp Looking forward to it
Looks to me that uniformity is out the window, because when I was serving we were all dressed the same and not only that we had to run in boots.
I’ve got briefing in a matter of weeks, what sort of running times should I be looking at? Say for a 3 miler?
below 21 minutes
Ok cheers lads, that’s good to hear, currently doing it at 21 on the dot 👍🏼
A 7 minute mile is going to get you put on Biff PT mate!! I don't know if they still do bft's at mile and a half best effort, but 10 mins 30 seconds was the slowest you could run it in and pass. Your 7 minute miles gonna make you one of the slow ones!! Work a bit harder, open up your stride a bit more and you'll see the times come down.
@Ollie I know he did!! Do they still do mile and a halfers like? 9 mins is a slow one too!! 7.46 was my best ever! It fkn hurt though, so my usual was 8 and a half to 9. That was fast enough without trying to be a superstar!!
@Ollie I was still in basic training then, and I was trying to keep up with a lad called Connolly! He was a proper racing whippet and I was still a good bit slower than him!! Wee bastard got best p.t!! We had a lot of fit lads, we had one half of the Thomas twins, both fkn solid lumps of boys, they were both 100 and 200m sprinters from Sierra Leone, they used to train with linfird Christie. They used to do 30 plus chin ups before the PTIs got embarrassed and told them to get down!!
What's your rank?
It’s the section commanders that run the platoon not the Rupert. 🏴Veteran section commander
Cheers dits.
Wow you guys are very lucky, you wake up at 6.30 and your working hour is at 8. Meanwhile in my country, military personnel wake up routinely at 5 am and they jog when the sun is still not up yet, then they have the platoon assembly every morning at 6 am. And btw, quick question is that I noticed you guys run with different sets of clothes and some have long hair.. are you running with your own platoon or maybe are you running with other units? 🤔 Thanks in advance 🙏
Wake up when you want, just make sure you're there on time and good to go for whatever the first task is. A more grown up approach
