Veterans' Foundation
Великобритания
Добавлен 13 июл 2018
Many armed forces charities struggle to raise sufficient funding to support serving and former members of the British Armed Forces’ and sometimes their dependants who are in need. The Veterans' Foundation has been created to establish a new and nationwide source of funding to help these charities. It acquires its funds through the Veterans’ Lottery and donations.
The objects of the Veterans' Foundation are as follows:
To assist people who are serving or who have served in the British armed forces, and their dependants, by advancing any lawful charitable purpose at the discretion of the trustees and in particular, but not exclusively, to make grants to other charities who assist serving and former members of the armed forces and their dependants who are in need.

"Art saved my life." Northern Ireland veteran on how military charities rescued him from suicide
After completing back-to-back tours of Northern Ireland during the height of The Troubles in the 1970s, John Cutting found himself struggling with crippling PTSD.
Suicide, he readily admits, seemed the only way out.
But then he discovered art.
With the backing of Style for Soldiers, a charity founded by Emma Willis, he went on to complete a Master of Arts degree at York St John University and now thrives as a successful sculptor.
Please take a few minutes to listen to his story.
If you would like to help British heroes like John, please play the Veterans’ Lottery. This month’s jackpot is £75,000.

PER MARE PER TERRAM.
you’re spectacular 🤗❤️ so much love, admiration, & respect to you.
I'm an 18 yr veteran with PTSD and my wife is my rock just like you are to craig and I have put her through absolute hell and I know I have Craig hang in there Brother I know how you feel and I love you and I don't even know you but you are a brother and just Know I DO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR GOING THROUGH AND WISH I COULD JUST SIT DOWN AND TALK TO YOU , i have found that talking to someone who's been there and done that , someone who understands the language of war for a lack of a better word has helped me tremendously. God Bless You and Your wife , me and my wife truly understand. I wouldn't wish how I feel on a daily basis on my worst enemy but I wished the people who just discarded us and ignored us when we could no longer where the uniform had to feel how we feel for just one day and things would be so different , I lost my Nephew 6 years ago to suicide he was also a combat veteran Iraq and Afganastan 3 tours each and the VA never helped him at all, just shove a pill in this mouth and send him home. God bless and keep fighting my Brother you have a great woman by your side.
It is only the government who should tell them "thank you for your service", not citizens. I don't blame them because they were lied to, and I hope they can recover from PTSD and be forgiven for their sins abroad.
said it before, say it again USMC should adopt the EXACT same TTPs as UKRM for enlisted and officer entry training.
People don't realise that he isn't entitled to any benefits despite what he did for his country. All because he will have a pension from his service that just isn't enough, but they do not care, he isn't entitled to anything where as people come across on boats get everything for free.
The military charities are holding onto 7billion in funds but we still have vets like Dave suffering…the charities are a National disgrace.
Lunatics🏴🏴🏴🏴
What is he telling.
Dear Ma'am, you are an inspiration! Much love from Europe ❤️
Totally understand them both😢it is hard to live with PTSD that is bought home with a veteran. It rubs off on the rest of the household how can it not.Another problem is if not dealt with any young kids then get effected as well and the cycle continues.I know from experiance as a kid of a vietnam veteran.I hope they pull through it all and are able to have some sort of normality in their relashnship and lives.
Thank you for your video. I wish you well and think your bushman camping initiative is great Thank you for the tours you have done. GOD BLESS you for your service. Thank GOD for your dog. You are a beautiful man and I hope you get all the support you need
I feel so bad for this man. I hope he found his peace. I respect this man even though I don't know him
Black officer zzzzzzzzzzzzz just can’t help it eh?
I’m so sorry for what you’re going thru, my heart hurts for you. I hope you and your family can be reunited, you are a good man. I hope you can become proud of yourself, even thru your pain ❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😢
Hurts my heart that he keeps apologizing... You've got NOTHING to apologize for, Ben. Man, I'm not even British and I feel like I owe him my utmost respect for what he's been put through.
I love the differences when you're asking to a WW2 Veteran about the PTSD their answer is " we didn't experienced the PTSD we just went home back to our lives
Fabulous, really enjoyed this 😊
this man deserves a knighthood
7 RHA 1975.
The atrocities committed by Royal Marines are innumerable
Always respect a man that once wore a uniform Whether a firefighter, a policeman, a soldier That uniform symbolises a sacrifice that this man is willing to make so that YOU can come home from work and school and be able to sit down, peacefully watch tv, play games, and enjoy your life They're making the ultimate sacrifice for you
Thank you for your service to the country I’m humbled to help even one veteran it’s my honour
Thank you 🙏
I care about you, Dave. Believe me .thank you for your service
🥰❤️🥰❤️
don't be sorry :(
All the main maritime powers can project power, with there amphibious capabilities. The Royal Marines have lost that. With the scrapping of the two commando ships. Why are they putting up with this?
Thank you for your story!
❤ I'm sorry
Aussie vet here mate you have nothing to be sorry for. Nothing at all. I’m proud of you for your service.
Good on ya mate for protecting our great country🎉
Brilliant Marine ! So Big Hearted !
That's Thank You Major Mills !
Thank Your Mills. I have a Copy of Your Book and The Royal Marine Ethos
Priceless Warriors the both of them!....Top respect to you both :)
:(
Top man ❤
Sadly many ex forces personell suffer from PTSD.
Hey Just watched your videos I know it’s been a year since this video was posted. Formed Cdn army medic here with multiple tours except with extreme PTSD & was tossed same way in 2005. It’s a long, time consuming journey it not easy but it’s a slow walk, but doable. Please hang in there. Cheers from the Ottawa valley in Ontario Canada.
Get a shave crow bag.
Respect fella from me a serving member of the armed forces. Disgusting that nobody has been in touch. You're part of a huge family so hang in there. I thank you for your service. As reiterated above let it all out. It takes a big strong person to ask for help and show emotions, especially as a bloke let alone a green lid. You have my utter respect big fella. You're not alone.
Great video! What is the name of piano song played during his pictures?
We always apologize when we show emotion. We aren’t allowed to be human.
Sgt Harrison, You are worth your weight in gold and have so much to give and live for. I hope one day soon you can see that straight and all of your days start and end with peace and happiness within. Thank you for all that you’ve done for us. 🍻
Thank you for your service brother, there’s no shame in tears, your human like us all. 👍
He has nothing to apologise for. Respect to both of them. I respect the fact he has done his job and served his country and he and his family needs all our support forever and forever. Craig has a purpose in life to his wife, his family and to himself. If you read this big fella you are also helping so many people you might not ever meet by the very nature of your inner strength in opening up about your PTSD. Don't let them win.... live your life and don't ever be guilty for laughing or feeling good. No-one should or can judge. Respect.
❤🌹🖤
i never judge, because i'm civilian and i can't, i don't have the "terms" to know. But i'm smart guy and i can imagin what was for you that experience change you as deep as your emotional. it is deeply inside your BE, and you only have the right to know the truth, but some reflection has in my mind, i'm 40yo and i think the army or whatever, can't prepare you in the spirit, they can prepare you in the body, but nobody can help you in the question you have in your mind. BUT it's perfectly normal, the human can kill it's our nature, and ther's nothing wrong, because EVERYBODY, included me WILL BE over at one time, it's a true and it is all right, the only thing we can control is, how and what we do before and after a ptsd. i play airsoft for a long time, and i can understand some thing of military world, the ONE was, never go in war if your family or yourself are in danger, no words needs. Ciao, i wait every single service man for a reabilitation ride on my gondola, where in the silence you can find yourself.. 0039 340 0988768 i can help
As a South African soldier I had no idea about Toby and I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't find his story sooner. What a remarkable story of service and overcoming the odds🇬🇧💪🏽🇿🇦
