  • Born and raised in South Africa, Jaco van Gass had a dream - to leave his homeland and serve in the British Army.
But after joining the Parachute Regiment that dream turned into a nightmare when he was hit by a Taliban-fired Rocket Propelled Grenade while on operations in Afghanistan. He lost his left arm above the elbow and suffered significant damage to his left leg too.
With his Army career over, Jaco refused to let his disability define his life and has since become a World class cyclist, winning two gold medals for Great Britain at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
Military charities have played a significant role in Jaco’s recovery - something he explains in this short film.

I already do the Vets Lottery. Not because of a chance to win money ( though it would be nice😂) but to invest in people like you and the rest of the incredible men and women who have been wounded one way or another in service. I read your story and even now you are smiling and laughing. You and all the others who are supported by the vets lottery are the best of the best. Despite your injuries you have carried on and are still smiling . I salute you all and wish you and all the other vets the very best. God Bless You❤

None of that is correct is it? If you weren't a 15 year old sat at home thinking of ways to be edgy then you'd know Afghanistan isn't and wasn't like the west. It was more akin to the Viking age Britain or Scandinavia or Feudal Japan. They were and are all separate tribes and were killing each other long before we got there. Not to mention there were different terror groups operating and fighting each other. The was one specifically that hated the Taliban and Ak Qaeda by the mountains near Pakistan. This is evident by all the people who tried to escape when Biden pulled everyone. You don't cling on to the side of a plane to escape nice people. At the end of the day they were harbouring terrorists and noncing kids. You're going to have to try very hard to make me feel pity for people who beast kids.. unless that's why you're so passionate about defending them?

@@karmakazi101 it seems your brain is twisted towards the invaders and refuses to accept that Afghanistan 🇦🇫 was forcefully invaded by western world. The Taliban are much better for Afghanistan and the people of Afghanistan 🇦🇫. I live in Afghanistan and now I and my family feel much safer. The country is ruled by it’s people and not by a puppet government who is remotely controlled by government of the western world.

On the condition that they did not kill anyone and rape, these people were in fact saved from mortal sin on the judgment day because of obedience and killing others for pleasure or because someone ordered you, so you have to. In other cases, they deserved what they asked for, and everyone who goes that way should get the same, not to die, but to go through life crippled and think about whether they should have followed a different path in life.
