This is officially my daughter's first big roller coaster. She's 5. I can't believe she rode it, and she wants to go back and ride it again. I didn't ride my first coaster until I was probably 11 or 12.
My daughter rode the mine train coaster in Disney when she was barely 4
My grandma rode this when it was in Hull Massachusetts. This at the time was the world’s tallest roller coaster.
Fun fact: this is the oldest still operating PTC coaster.
Well if you count the fact that it was moved.
Its cool you can see remnants of skull island on the first drop in the mountain
God that hill at 1:21 looks bananas
It is pretty nuts
1:20, you can tell that hill was ejector cause it made him scream on a POV where he was supposed to be quiet lol.
I heard a soft laugh, not a scream?
I love how the airtime hills in the second half start small and then get bigger with double-downs. That's pretty unique and interested.
It is in front row somewhere in there but also surprise laterals during airtime. Can cause pain if it hits you wrong because it's wild even if you know about it.
Omg I went on this yesterday it was my first coaster it's nothing like the video I love the bumpeness and it's so fast
I was just there on Saturday and got on this. Still one of my favorite wooden coasters.
This was my favorite coaster when I went to this park. Unfortunately, Ride of Steel was closed, but the flip side was that it was raining all day, and the park was almost empty. So we could go on this bad boy over and over. Good times.
Just rode this 3 weeks ago as my 100th really great classic so great I bought a T shirt
One of the best backseat rides on an old woodie, comparable to the Coney Island Cyclone in terms of intensity and ejector airtime. (My husband thought we were gonna die on this when we went a few years ago...I'd ride it again in a heartbeat!)
This was my first roller coaster
six flags america was my home park for 18 years and its janky and rough around the edges but solid
Nice classic out and back layout!
the second six-flags America wooden coaster pov in a month lol. looks like a fun little coaster. keep up with the content!
It used to be the tallest before it was relocated.
Wow, looks like that thing's really moving through the second half of the run! I don't know how you keep it up with the quality content but I love it! #BGT4lyfee
over 100 years old and it looks way better than the gci in the same park
Not bad not bad. Better than some woodies not as good as others. A couple decent looking airtime moments there.
I jrode this once in the rain. It was flipping awesome.
It was probably wet and cold too
I rode this few weeks ago well it's fine for an old coaster I found it a little rough and rode a non wheel seat but I'm glad sf america has it nice to see old coasters still running was oldest I've ever riden
Ok so it's still a little rough.. Damn this could be *incredible* with a GCI retrack, but please never RMC it Six Flags as it's a great coaster. Was glass smooth over 15 years ago when we rode it, and believe me that surprised me as it was already an old coaster.
@@teddym2808Six Flags would probably make a Joker clone out of Roar anyway before they touch this ride
I still remember the first time I rode this and saying, 'what the hell have I gotten myself into?!' when I got to the top of the lift hill.
FR
@@Lifeasniaa_.was it good?
It looks smooth and fun and has good air time
Haha there's no way this ride is smooth!
@@Brandon-qd2lb for a 100-year-old roller coaster it’s pretty goddamn smooth
@@jrax1713 It's literally the most rough, painful, and uncomfortable coaster I have ever touched. How someone can even find this SLIGHTLY smooth is beyond me.
@@Zatoka. maybe you’ve gotten some bad rides on it
@@jrax1713 I went once, and I plan on trying again in a different row next time I go, but at one point it was so rough that I was bouncing up and down in my seat, then it jerked me so hard sideways that I kinked my neck and tore my shoulder.
By far the best coster at an otherwise disappointing park…
This thing is horrible...and to call it the best? Mannnn superman must have been closed.
@@Zatoka. oh Straight track ride of steel was open, I just want my roller coasters to actually do something. Makes Goliath SFMM seem like a masterpiece.
Taylor and Sarah, can you please visit Vancouver and go film their wooden coaster???? At PlayLand 😎
We’d love to get there eventually!
@@CoasterStudios 😎 that would be so sweet! When you eventually get there I’ll be sure to like the video lol. Cheers love the channel tons 🙌🏼. Sending good vibes from Winnipeg !!
Hello
I thought this was the Morgan hyper
You’re thinking of Wild Thing. That ride opened in 1996 and was Morgan’s first ever coaster.
Dear god this thing hurt. Was literally screaming ow the whole time. I don't mind roughness, but by god this was unbearable. I really hope they re track it, because otherwise this is a great layout.
Parts Of The Ride Looks Kinda Busted
They Need To Di Track Work On This Ride
Especially the lift hill. Wtf?
They do track work pretty often on this actually. It runs great for over 100 years old
@@JosephJohnson-gu5fw it was retracked recently actually. When I went Easter Monday the left side of the helix had new wood that was differently colored from the other. Roar was also recently retracked.
It’s mostly because the paint is chipping. The drop has some new wood from what I can see. And contrary to beliefs, this park does a pretty good job upkeeping this ride. The only negative I feel is with the wheels.
Are you sure you didn't speed this up? I have never in my life seen a PTC running this fast, this looks faster than some RMCs. There is just no way.
100+ year old coasters slap differently.
@@ThyPandora comet at great escape is the same way. It just flies through the layout
It's a good ride. They take care of this one and retrack some portions fairly often.
This one typically runs good, especially the second half after the turnaround.
Did not speed it up!
This looks amazing but it makes me even more disappointed in grizzly at CGA. Why can’t all the old wooden coasters be this forceful?
I mean there is giant dipper in both Santa Cruz and Belmont park
How on earth is this ride 100 years old?
It operated at another park back in the 1920s, and got moved to Six Flags America in 1986.
It's been redesigned and profiled countless times... It started as a side friction coaster, then it was converted to a modern coaster, with a swoop turnaround and helix ending... Then at some point the helix burned down and it operated without it. The helix was rebuilt when it was relocated to Wild World (SFA) and at some point the swoop turnaround was changed to a flat turnaround.
maintenance. Lots of it. And even with its age, its night and day smoother than several of the newer coasters in the park.
This coaster was built in 1917 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. It was the main attraction at its first amusement park., Paragon Park in Nantasket Beach Massachusetts until 1984. I know only because I lived in the small seaside town for many years
Disappointed by the minimal retracking. only saw two very short spots, and not even both sides of the track. It was in infinitely better conditionn than Roar was last year.
Roar is a yawn. I hate that coaster.
