No, our woodies are painful. Easily the world's worst roller coaster is Boss at Six Flags St. Louis. Sorry to disappoint
It depends on the park as to how well they're taken care of. SF tends to let them rot to hell.

Went on this ride back in 2010. It was pretty good. Didn't stop halfway up the lift hill for me though.
It certainly was Paragon Park's coaster! Really glad to see it still thundering along!
This was my 1st "adult" coaster back in the Paragon Park days. Took me many trips to the park to get up enough nerve to ride.

Well Theme Park Review you're absolutely correct. Wild One was originally from Paragon Park in Hull Massachusetts as the Giant Coaster.
It was built in 1917 as a side friction coaster. After a fire in the 1930s, the coaster was modified to what it is now. After another fire in 1963, the coaster was rebuilt minus the last helix. The coaster was moved to Wild World in Maryland in 1986, and rebuilt with the final helix again.

I have many memories with my family and friends on this Coaster at Paragon Park on Nantasket Beach in Hull, Massachusetts back in the 70s and 80s

Such a part of my childhood when it was at paragon park from driving by it as a very young kid going to nantasket beach to riding it when I grew up. The park and the coaster are sorely missed but I am so happy that it's still going strong. I'm going to make a trip to ride it again.

i was one of the ones that helped with the move i worked at paragon park in 63 and had been on it over 1000 times. i walked the track in both locations aand told charlid dinn the builder about the second helix that burned down in 63 and got him pictures of it. it was add back on the ride in matyland. it cost 2.2 million to move it. i do a lecture on it showing it being built in the winter of 1916. the hills were not as steep in the original version but most of the ride burned in 1932 the rebuilt ride was much steeper and fasterr. the original ride did 35 mph while the steeper version did 58 mph. the height of the big hill was 93 ft. in maryland the height was increased to 98 ft and the speed is now 66 mph. it screames now. iwent on it 40 times in the 2 days i was there. .small changes have been done sunce to make it smoother and be easier on the cars art milmore

band trash the other train might have been stopped on a brake run, sensors might have stopped it, there’s a couple different reasons.

When I was little, every single time we went to Nantasket, I would see a piece of wood fall from that coaster. I would always cry when my parents said they were going on it. I thought they were gonna die... kids man. 🤣😂🤣

If I'm not mistaken, the helix was added in 1986, when Giant Coaster was moved to its current spot. I actually watched a POV of Giant Coaster yesterday that was filmed in 1984 (I'd like to know how the rider did that with cameras being much larger back then). Here's that POV: ruclips.net/video/aNV9dPVDD0o/видео.html In the POV you can see that the station was oriented in the opposite direction.

That looks like it needs major retracking, unfortunately Six Flags America seems to be the black sheep of the Six Flags parks, so I don't see that happening. 🙁
