    Mike, I have been having a problem matching the tiller handle gear assembly and I asked you to do a video. The video for tiller handle throttle gear assembly is excellent! It is very helpful. I really appreciate your fine work.

    Hi Mike, keep up the good work with your videos, very informative. I recently purchased some tiller parts for my FD-11 Johnson from your ebay store. They fit perfect Thank you. you should take a trip up to the northeast, there are a lot of vintage outboards you can pick up for parts.

    T-Mike, the way you did this instructional video I believe is the best of all your instructional videos. Thanks so much for taking the time to make it.

    Excelente video t-mike. Pregunta, esos engranajes se deben lubricar con grasa?, o se instalan secos. Gracias.

    Hi Mike, I have a 93 Belgium Johnson 3hp that tiller is off and I believe the cable is missing. I'll be working on this motor next and pretty sure I'll be able to get one. I was surprised this motor has trigger for the timing advance for such a small motor. Will be interesting getting this one running. I still need to get a 70 or 80's evinrude someday.

    Awesome as usual T Mike. Thanks again sir. I will be reaching out to you on ebay. I need a throttle position sleeve that showed. The motor I just picked up doesn't have one.

    Hi Mike. To what extent does one grease the tiller handle ,gears. And what sort of grease would one use. I’m bringing a 1967 6hp fisherman back to life. Love your videos

    Can you lubricate a stuck throttle gear (large one that you seat into the steering bracket) using a grease gun from the bottom?
    Great video! I’ve got it all figured out thanks to you…. Just have this throttle gear sticking so my throttle grip takes a TON of pressure to twist.

    I watched your video on the tiller handle. I have a problem in turning the grip. I have a Johnson seahorse 7.5 model AD-11. Do you have any videos on the armature plate and post assembly.

    My 56 Johnson 7 1/2 HP twist grip on the tiller is to loose as it will vibrate to stop when running unless I keep my hand on it. Is there a way to tighten the twist grip to stop this? Thanks

    • @michaeljsimon
      @michaeljsimon  4 месяца назад

      @@RoxanneHermanson there is a spring inside providing the friction. Remove grip see if it’s there.

    Isn't there suppose to be a Spring & thin flat washer that goes on before the grip goes on the handle ? You didn't show or notate that. Both those items seem to be missing on some tiller handles I've taken apart.

    • @michaeljsimon
      @michaeljsimon  2 года назад

      Very observant of you - yes the spring was missing. The spring provides friction so the throttle can “troll” - I will install spring when I replace handle - I was focusing on the gears in this video - thanks for your input.

      @@michaeljsimon Thanks.
      I liked the fact that you mentioned the upgraded slightly more substantial gears on the later outboard tiller handles to steering arm gears. Many new comers probably don't know that. Good to know when replacing a broken or missing tiller handle or steering arm shaft. You might make a short video showing the difference.

      Speaking of springs. The bottom the tower also has a tiny spring where it slips into the gear. Nice Video.

    Thanks. what glue would you recommend to attach the rubber grip to the tiller arm? Contact cement didnt work

    Mike I have a 1962 Johnson 18hp and when rotating the throttle my gears jump free. I have counted the teeth and everything is aligned. Could this be from slightly worn gears or something else?
