Now that you've left the desert I feel deserted.
Oh dear god…
The crickets are real … +1 for subscribers on Toms channel though :)
Loved this.. 2 of my favorite youtubers
Haha love the dynamics here. Keep crushing it, guys!
I’ve always wanted to visit Joshua. I have no excuse living in the east coast and you were there! 😂
no way, you're friends with Tom!
That's awesome seeing you together! 🤘😎
Tom is the best!
I can feel the heat through this lens. So cool to see you and Tom together! 🤘🤘
Thanks for all in depth details of lenses and use and prize, and yes i've subscribed to your channel few years back,i do watch and rarely missing them.sorry for that, and its inspiring
What a contrast to your usual content😃
Great location. Beautiful images!
Lol love the dad jokes Tom! Been listening to your podcast that you need to revive but nice to see you both together in person!
Excellent Video Peter. Great Information! Thank You.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Been waiting for your news upload. I knew you would come through.
Thank you!
Coming a lot more!
@@PeterLindgren1 my bad I meant newest not new. Lol
Peter speaks from experience (which is why this video is so good). I just got the Tamron 17-28 and it's a great lens to start with for youtube and vlogging. 17-28 is great on the Sony a7c and my next lesne of is the Tamron 28-75 2.8. thx for another informative vidoe. glad you got to hang out with Tom B.
Nice, camped there years ago. It was majestic and beautiful.
Incredibly cool space!
Got the original f4 16-35mm 3 years ago and will hold out for the GM ii whenever it is released.
great seeing you traveling Peter ...cool place or what..! & hey there's a new Samyang wide zoom coming soon ..😎
Such a coincidence that you dropped a vlog on a Sony wide angle lens as my photographer buddy and myself are looking at options right now. Appreciate the honesty about the Tamron lens as my guy noticed the same with the autofocus hunting, but still a great quality pic on a Tamron 70-200 I think.
Keep rocking!
So awesome to see you and Tom together creating content!
More to come!
@@PeterLindgren1 I can’t wait!
Awesome!!! Very quality on any video!
Glad you think so Renan!
Oh dream location and video so good as usual 🙌🏻☺️
Surreal place, Thank you!! 😁
I just got the tamron 17-28 f2.8 today. I will use it on my sony a7iii. I haven’t try it yet, but it feel really good. i was confused whether to buy the tamron or the sony zeiss, but i finally went with the tamron. I hope i have made the right decision.
Great video, looking forward to more videos from the US! 👊😃
Working on it!
@@PeterLindgren1 Didn't expect anything else! 😄👍
Stealth dropping video’s on sundays now are we? Good to have you back on the tube again, looking forward to more videos from the American Adventures-series :)
Yuuuuup!
Great description of those 3. I will say the Tamron also has slightly different color reproduction which i have noticed with my 28-75 as well. I feel like most of people will start with tamron because compared to the other two it's a bargain and it's a great choice. Good to see you out finally!
Which Tamron?
@@djangounchained1334 17-28 f2.8
The Tamron 17-28 at Joshua Tree would be fun for infrared photography. Even though I have the 16-35 GM (mainly for indoor events), the Tammy is my first choice for outdoor photography since it works so good on my converted IR cameras. Paired with the 28-200 gives me a light IR kit.
Such a dope place! Wish i could've stayed longer!
Great video dude! I have a canon 80d 10-16, 16-55 and a cheap 50mm primer! Can’t afford any other lenses and mainly use my iPhone to shot at the moment! Would love a nicer zoom lens but I need to grow and get better videos before I think about upgrading
Fantastic location to see you at 👍🏻
Pretty happy I bought the Tamron 17-28 and the 28-75, for less than the price of the GM 16-35. One day I will get a G master though....
Just bought the new 16-35 f4 PZ and the lightweightness is a fantastic thing for vlogging. Sure, not as much bokeh but not that important for me personally and Sony cameras are beasts for lowlight too.
Great lens for sure!
Hey Peter, welcome to California! Where a surprise to see you in Joshua Tree! I grew up near there and my Dad and I would go there! We used to go to a western town near Joshua Tree named Pioneer Town. Have a great adventure in the US. Greg
Such a cool place!
Yeah it is, looks like you fit right in. Did you see any Roadrunners?
@Peter Lindgren, what “strength” VND are you using on a day like this? Is it a 2-5 Stop or 6-9 Stop ND?
Thanks 🇨🇦
As far as aperture I’m assuming it’s at F2.8
I know you mentioned it but I’m interested to see how you feel about that new Sigma 16-26 f/2.8 compared to these
18mm f2.8 with AF from Samyang for me. It hasn’t shown any wear for years taking it everywhere, and it weighs next to nothing. Accepts standard filters and the image quality is awesome. I’m all about keeping things as small and light as possible, and I don’t need a zoom (I usually have a 35mm 1.8 prime with me). I have thought about the Tamron for convenience sake, but the cons still outweigh pros in my case.
I’ve been loving that lens too! Only problem I keep getting is the no weather seal. I keep getting little dust bits into the actual lens
Tamron 17-28 & Sigma 28-70 work for me, & autofocus is good on both.
These are especially good for use with the A7C, as the camera body is lightweight, & so are the lenses.
The premium dad jokes are what make all of this that much better.
I use the Tamron 17-28 f2.8, as you know, and I am very much happy with it after I did the software update! It doesnt hunt the focus as it use to... But I know what you mean about the 1mm and the 7mm. I often miss the little extra. But for me the GM lens from sony is to expensive, but I would love to have it ;)
Software update on your camera or for the lens?
@@TuckerPearce the lens. Made a hugh differens
Nice video Peter! I got an off topic question. Do you know how to export on the new update of premiere pro? Im actually getting very low quality after exporting my videos and idk what to do :(, cant find any solution to this. Thanks you!
I’ve never used Premiere so unfortunately not 🙃
I know you are a final cut user, just wondering. It ok. Thanks man!
I have the 16-35 for may Sony A7iii and it looks awesome so I agree. Also I was having mini heart attacks every time you flipped the lens...🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just started more vlog style content recently and the Tamron has been unreal for me. It would take a lot of convincing to spend $3000 on an upgrade to the g master haha! Maybe one day
Dad jokes for days. lol. Nice collab Peter!! What lens for Canon EOS R lineup is similar to the Sony 16-35 f2.8. Would the 16-35 f4?
I think it's the 15-35!
I have the GMaster only because I was able to find it second hand for a very reasonable price. But as a photographer, I can really appreciate the possibility to go all the way to 35 mm.
You will be a great director ... I wish that ♥️♥️ big respect for you from iraq my friend 👍💚
I do love my 17-28 Tamron on my Sony A7C but I wish it was a bit more stable. I struggle with some of the footage as a result. It’s a great lens at nice price point.
when I moved from 17-28 to 20 1.8 so much difference regarding quality and autofocus, much more stable
FE 20mm F1.8 G
It’s great, but too limited!
Peter! Are you using the Sony a7siii and ecm mic in this video?
Yup!
@@PeterLindgren1 thanks brother! I love your stuff!
Omgosh!!! Are you still in the U.S. ?? Please be in Texas 🤣. You've been such an inspiration to me I'd love to meet you some day.
I literally purchased the 16-35 GM last week. Best purchase I've made for sure. Until my filters for it show up though Im scared to use it out in the real world.
Great friendship!!
Love my 14mm GM for interiors
I'm going to get the latest Sony 16-35mm, f4 PZ because Power Zoom is a "must have" for video
I am waiting for the 16-35mm GM II to come out and then I will upgrade from my Tamron….till then I will stay cheap! Great video
Plus I agree with Tom 24mm GM is my jam right now! I don’t think it’s that expensive for what it is. That’s my favorite prime for sure.
Will you be reviewing the upcoming sony 16-35 f4 pz? I’m strongly considering that one since the GM is just too far out of my budget and the tamron and sigma wide angles are just too short for my liking.
I don't think i will, but i've heard it's good!
I literally asked my friends which wide lense to buy today! And you post a video one hour later haha
Haha good timing 😬
Cool intro
Hi Peter! What other settings do you use on your ECM-B1M/
All switches up. Full auto.
@@PeterLindgren1 you're the best thanks!!!
Kommer de någon video på sigmas nya 16-28
Funderar på att byta ut min 24mm 1,4gm
Mot den nya. Lite fastighetsfotografering som står på agendan! 😎 skulle va Nice med en video om du lyckas få ta på en
So I just missed you in Joshua Tree. I was there 4 days before you and then you came to Long Beach where I live. Ahhh.
Yeah I love 16-35 f2.8
Joshua Tree is my favorite National Park in California, and I was quite literally just a there!!
One of my favorite lenses is the Sony 24mm 1.4 GM
And what about the newer 16-35 PZ? Compact, very light, very sharp, power zoom… l had the Sony Zeiss 16-35, but soo heavy and not quite sharp …
20mm 1.8, but I feel the limitations when traveling
I have that 17-28, and I don't use it as much as Id like and there's only really one reason, the lens doesn't cover enough at the higher end, if it went to 35 I'd be tempted to use it for street photography, but it doesn't, and I rarely want to be *that* wide 🤷♂️
Though that new 16-35 g pz lens is tempting me.
Yo, how long will you be in CA for? I live like 1.5 hrs from there! Want to come get some wine???
What would be a good option for similar focal length for Sony aps-c
Something like 10-18 or 10-20 ish!
@@PeterLindgren1 thanks!
Let’s meet up!! I live in Palm Springs!!!
Welcome to the States
this is my humble request to all content creators using latest sony mirrorless cameras to disable the EYE PRIORITY in autofocus feature of their cameras at least in video mode. the EYE DETECT feature undoubtedly gives perception of better looking video but because sony's EYE AUTOFOCUS is so powerful and that coupled with modern lenses at wider aperture results in a video that has a very small portion of the screen that is highly in focus. this obviously looks impressive f0r stlls but when it comes t0 vide0, and especially when the subject is m0vng, it bec0mes strainful on eyes of the viewer to watch.
I like it if I can say so myself 👍🏼
@@PeterLindgren1 yeah, your videos are helpful and with a unique style..we too enjoy watching your videos..thanks..
a shame you never got the new sigma 16-28 and sony 16-35mm g pz in this
Kind of a click bait, as video is only about three zooms, and doesn’t include ultrawides, which share the 16-24 range with wide zooms. And there is no mentioning of the new PZ lens.
Holy shit that’s a big price though
Sony 16-35 f4 i miss a little bit f2.8
But what about 12-24 ?
Great lens, not my favourite though!
How are you able to perfectly expose your camera on a harsh sunlight?
Combination of cranking the shutter and using Variable ND 😅
@@PeterLindgren1 I’m guessing you were recording 24fps how much more did you crank the shutter speed?
Also thanks for replying back been watching your videos since 2020 and learned some stuff from you and love all your videos!!
There is a 100% chance of a burnt Swede after recording this entire video and its Brolls in the desert.
Smelled like bacon when I got in to the car
Wth when did you go to Joshua tree? Hahaha dam I had a chance to see you
Wait? You actually responded back ? 🥹 bruh wth lolol and you told me to message you?
Dam I feel like I’m dreaming lol and how do I message you ? 🙏🏽
Okay, am I getting spammed ? Haha
The 24mm 1.4 is an amazing lens. One of my favorite primes ever next to the 50mm 1.4 & I’ve been shooting Sony for 7yrs now.
As far as wide angle lens..Im a big fan of the 16-35 but..
No love for the 12-24 2.8 GM or even the Sigma 14-24 2.8 art lens??
Have tried both of the 14-28, biggest downside is the lack of possibilities to use a front element filter…
@@PeterLindgren1 I’ll concur. They do make ND filters for the back of those lens but it’s just not the same being on the front.
If only Sony made a 12-24 like the 16-35. I’d say it might be one of the best sellers.
Or…a auto variable nd system like the 2x teleconverter
Would be a game changer
First!!
I find sony colors far better than sigma or tamron
Is very hard to follow your video and to get the information I was looking for, you're just losing yourself in details
Man this video could have been half as long if he got to the point. I get he wants to make content and people like it but it would be nice to get to the point before half of the video is done.
Don’t sit on a scorpion!
Where are you? Your RUclips channel is no longer what it used to be, you no longer publish your videos like you were active!
Trying to work less for a change! Don’t worry, I’m coming back full force 😎
