@HustlePaul i had my 6400s since 2019. They were my work horses till this day. They are definitely worth the upgrade. Start off with kit lenses that come with the camera and that are cheap on the Facebook market place. Then when u want to specialize in glass buy full frame.

Would love to know about how you shoot your videos indoor setup like the same frame at the beginning the lighting, the comp, colors everything is perfect. please make a BTS for this if possible.
Great Video, Peter. That’s almost exactly my setup. Only difference: I went with the 24-70 GM instead of the 16-35. 24 is wide enough for me to use for vlog situations, and I wouldn’t want to miss the extra reach, compression etc. of up to 70mm. Especially if I carry only one lens. For an action cam I’d go with a 360 camera instead of a classic action cam. Since the Insta360 X3 they’ve become so good, and the option to choose your framing in post has been an absolute game changer for me. Just upgraded to the X4, and the image quality is impressive and matches the 4K shots of my main camera even better. Rest of my daily used workhorses are the same: Mini4Pro, PeakDesign Carbon Travel Tripod, Sony and Dji Mics, and a similar charging case like yours. Got mine from Patona, but yours looks great too! Intersting overview, would go for the A7C II and the 24-50 f2,8 for RUclips. I think the majority now is not really vlogging but working from home, a studio or maybe outside but with the camera on a fixed spot. Plus you have an EVF, no overheating in 4K 25 and can keep the camera running forever. I do shoot interviews and those can take easy longer than 30 minutes. Right now i have the R8 and overheating is an issue, so i am really thinking switching to the A7C II. Have a great weekend, cheers from Germany.
That’s exactly what’s in my backpack except for ZV body. U use a combination of A1 (stills) and FX3 (video and stills in extreme lowlight which A1 covers with high ISO)
Regarding the tripod issue: you can mount the camera in a different orientation (so the click-in-mechanism is on the back of the camera) and that fixes the issue of not being able to shoot vertically!
You need an L frame for your camera so that you can attach the bottom or the side of the camera to the tripod if you want to do the vertical video. instead of having to turn the ballhead 90 degrees and throw the center of gravity off of the tripod. I use the Really Right Stuff L bracket on my EOS R with the same tripod and it's been great.

All of that gear is packed into my PGYtech OneMo Lite backpack. But with the additional ultra wide zoom lens I would need to switch to a bigger backpack like the Tenba Axis Tactical 32l.

@ hi Peter, I have one less question you might have the answer for. I currently come from a canon M50. a A7IV will be a big improvement😊 From a crop sensor and a 15-45mm F/3.5-6.3 To a Sony 20-70mm F/4 G full frame. The F/4 will be better right for lowlight? Still, it’s only a F/4
My stuff is aging, but I still like it. It's been accumulated over many years. I'm only upgrading once I can justify it by being more consistent, and I feel that I've truly outgrown it. :) Here's the list: Canon 80D, DJI Mini 2, Sony ZV-1, DJI Mic v1, GoPro Hero 7 Black, Insta360 One X2, Zhiyun Weebill-S, Peak Design aluminum travel tripod. The ZV-1, Mini 2, DJI Mics, and Insta360 are part of my EDC. Oh... and my iPhone. Appreciate you, man!
@@PeterLindgren1Quick question. Are you preparring version of your charger for Panasonic? I absolutely love the concept but I'm married to the Lumix S5II kit at the moment.
Check out the Ulanzi carbon fibre tripod. It doesn't have the same issue with the ball head. It is cheaper and have great ecosystem with their F38 mount.
@@PeterLindgren1 the Ulanzi is 180g lighter, collapsed length is 3cm higher, and cost is about 50% cheaper. Stability wise, both seems pretty bad but you would expect from a compact tripod that my wife is 'happy' to lug around :)

I'm currently using a Canon 77D with a Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 lens and am looking to upgrade to a Canon mirrorless body within a budget of $1000-$1500. I mainly want to use it for (Corporate/Institutional) Photography in conferences, meetings, seminars, outdoor activities, and some video interviews (Corporate). Which camera model would you recommend that would pair well with my existing lens and provide a significant upgrade in terms of features, performance and budget? Thanks in advance!
Hey Peter why not recommend the new 16-25mm 2.8 instead? It's much cheaper and extremely sharp, just less reach. But a perfect cutoff for a 24-70 as a secondary lens.
I have had it overheat on me at two different weddings, shooting in 4K60 FPS oddly enough they weren’t during the ceremonies they were actually during the speeches But I don’t give a shit I love the camera. It’s freaking amazing.
I'm trying to decide whether to invest in a Gimbel or a DJI Pocket 2. My current setup is the Canon M50 with a couple of zoom lenses to give me 18mm to 200mm and a 28mm f1.8 prime lens. I feel like the Pocket 2 can give me a big boost in camera angles, especially as I'm interested in cars. However, a Gimble will give me that smooth movement that will up the quality of my videos. I make videos just as a hobby. Does anyone have some good advice on this decision?
I’ve accumulated a few cameras myself but I am looking at getting the ZV-E1. Less expensive than the FX3 and more features than the A7SIII. I’m keeping my A7III as a photography camera.
Great review and also great setup not only for beginners 😂 What’s in my camera setup now: Osmo pocket 3 Osmo action 4 DJI AIR2s drone iPhone 15pro max Canon EOS RP for making thumbnails 😊
Great video. So many individual reviews of products, but not many like these collective gear reviews. Had the unintended consequence of getting me to research many of these products during the video lol
I'm still using the A7R III and remember your videos about it, I'm not making videos so this is a monster camera for my photos. Otherwise, if I'd start videos, I'd go with any camera that can do slow mo and s-cinetone, so the a6700 or at best the FX 30 which in my opinion is the go to for great videos at a good price
Thank you, Peter! I always click on the like button even before watching any of your videos and never regret it. I had 2 Sony A7III cameras, then sold one and bought FX30 - which was a huge stepping stone for my own business. Now I'm thinking of selling the second A7III to get the ZV-E1 as a full-frame camera. I have a question regarding the shotgun microphone - would you recommend the Sony ECM-M1 mic? Is it the newer and better version than the ECM-B1M? Thanks!
Thanks for the video. I’m not a videographer but my son is and we both shoot Sony. He has the A7SIII and my 16-35/2.8;GM I lens and I upgraded to the new GM II version. Have several full size full frame Sony cameras but I am using the new Compact C A7CII and A7CR. Bought the Julio Tri-charger based on another video you did and it’s great for travel. We haven’t bought a drone yet but maybe this coming year. Thank you for sharing what you are using. Take care.
Hi @PeterLindgren1, I hope you're doing well. I'm looking to start creating cooking videos set in the forest, and I could really use your advice. As a beginner, could you recommend a camera that would be suitable for this type of content? Thanks in advance for your help! Best regards, Aram
2:47 yes hell of an expensive lens. Starting out the Tamron 17-28 for most is more than enough and a fraction of the cost. Just my 2 cents. Love the video as usual Peter! 🔥
but what if you started in 2024/2025 on a budget? (25k sek/2.5k usd/eur) a little big but kinda reasonable amount of money for second hand setup. i’ve spent like ~10.000sek to start my photography adventure. canon 5d mk2, tripod, 24-105mm, 85mm, couple of sim cards, extra battery and a camera bag. (i’ve also had a gopro for a while) i’ve got plans to buy a 16-35mm and a 70-200mm for landscape 😊
If I'm recording boxing matches or any kind of combat sports, being able to record in 4K 120 for over 30 minutes without over heating comes in handy for those sweet slow motion replays.
@@PeterLindgren1 Hahaha 😂, no, but if I'm solo shooting multiple angles, it's easier to leave one going on a tripod while I move around on another. Trying to run over and pause shooting between each match is rough.
Appreciate the video, but a LUMIX GH6 w speed booster gets you an incredible production S35 ecosystem, including pro sound inputs, 4:3 open gate for the most versatile multi format filming, as well as great frame marker capabilities, internal ProRes HQ, 120fps 4k, 300fps HD (without a crop) and the best IBIS on the market. Regarding autofocus, if you’re just starting out, learn manual focus first, and don’t get locked into a system because of convenient autofocus. Oh yeah, 12ms rolling shutter speeds as well…
Great video, I myself is thinking about some new gear as i was previously on the Sony A6000. QQ i know that creatives are busy filming and shooting etc so would you say you’d be grateful if someone came in and handled all the scripting for your videos and streamlined the whole process? Just trying to see if there is a market for scriptwriting for video & photo creators
Between the ZV-E1 and the a7 IV, which would you pick being that they’re comparably priced? A7 IV seems to get rated higher in every shootout, so curious to your thoughts Peter.
I don't want to bother.... but the Canon R8 has all the advantages of this one, plus an amazing stills camera (like the R6 MK2 - 40FPS - higher resolution - crazy autofocus), and it's much cheaper. I see no point in spending hundreds of dollars more to get less, unless you already own compatible Sony lenses
@@PeterLindgren1 No 4K 120 at all There is 4K 60 without crop. And if you need Salomo, you have got FHD at 180FPS The only downside is the 4K 120. Is it even a disadvantage for 99% of the users. Compared to the advantages: 24megapixels 40fps Fast readout speed.... And the price is much cheaper!!! (about $700 difference - which can be invested in lenses, etc.)
@PeterLindgrn1 And in general, it is a 6K oversample, so the quality is amazing. Basically it's the R6II which is a fantastic handheld camera in a smaller body (small battery, one card, no in-body stabilization). I don't think there is a competitor to the R8 in the same price range on the market today. Neither in video nor in stills. I'm not discounting the Sony ZVE1tz, just pointing out that it's more expensive by a margin, even though it gives less overall
Your video is awesome.. but your words is my enlightment. I have ZVE1 and am looking for one lens to-do-it-all. But your words about the reason why ZVE1 is interchangeable, made me realised how dumb i am hunting for one lens only in this camera eco system. I should have bought ZV1 or RX100 VII, if i want a one-lens solution. the interchangeable camera should be used with different lenses.. i know my idea is dumb for one lens fit all, i guess i am but sometimes being idiotic. Anyway Thank you with your wise words, i need to hunt for prime lens now as i have PZ 16-35mm. I always love your contents and i pray your business with battery casing will bring good fortune. I know you have a lot of creative ideas for invention.. good luck sir. 😊

Nu saknas bara ett bättre objektiv och din laddare sedan är man i mål 😎 Tack för alla bra råd och tips👍 Glömde säga samma mikrofon. Den är så bra!
Man, I NEED to know how you take those BRoll product shots. Depth of field looks much lower than F2.8. Focal length looks fairly long. Maybe like 85mm? But if it's an 85mm prime lens, how do you get such smooth shots when most primes don't have OSS? Would you be able to use a gimbal with that long of a lens?
im using the sony a7iii with the kit 28-70 lens and the dji rs3 gimbal. ive been looking to upgrade my camera to more of a video first camera or a newer hybrid camera
Hey Peter, first off it was a nice video. Eventhough i was hoping it was more for like less expensive equipment. Nevertheless the Tri-Charge got me interested. BUT i was wondering if there is one for the EN-EL 25 batteries from NIKON?
Camera & Lens...? Ah, I switched from Nikon to Canon years ago and might stay there forever, I guess... ☑Microphone...? Røde makes small(er) sizes, too... ☑ Wireless microphones...? The DJI Mic 2 is already on my wishlist... Basically since your review on them on this channel...😉❌ DJI Mini 4 Pro...? Unboxed mine (switched from an Air 2S and a Mini 2) last week and totally love it! ✅ Peak Design Travel Tripod...? I'm (mostly not) using a small and "light" Manfrotto right now - not happy with it. Recently researched a lot and came to the same conclusion as you did: It HAS to be the PD... Wishlist! (BTW: You COULD switch to another "head" of your choice, PD is selling a replacement for the standard ballhead that makes that possible, just in case you missed that detail) ❌ Tri-Charge...? Oh yeah! Received mine earlier this year! It's great! ✅ Action-Cam...? Jumped on the insta360 train (for filming motorcycle tours) and stayed on it ever since... ☑
Great video and great advice Peter. 👍 One thing that I’ve noticed since I bought my camera (Panasonic Lumix GH5) is that you should really take your time to research what camera you should buy. Depending on what you will use it for there’s pros and cons for each system. AND the main thing why this is important is that it’s an expensive pain in the b*tt to switch systems (most probably) 😂 Keep up the good work! 👊
Thanks for many good videos. I think I have to upgrade my microphone... ;-) Do you never use cage and/or top-hand? How does this microphone work if it's not connected in the flash-shoe (Swenglisch for blixtsko) / Matti in Jokkmokk
Can't believe you still recommend the 16-35 after all these years!? It's so massive and heavy. Surely there must be better, smaller, cheaper alternatives out there? Surely. I'm still on crop because full size is just so big and expensive. Spent ages thinking of ways to spend twice as much until I realised I didn't need to. Nice video dude. Solid options for pro work, and those new dji drones look amazing.
Amazing recommendations, and I agree with pretty much everything. However, I think you left out one of the most important things/category, and that is lighting. In my opinion with good lights you can have a much worse camera setup any still create high-quality footage.
I swear I still watch gear videos. I'm broke, my credit card is broke, my house is broke. Yet I'm here for the gear videos.

From a crop sensor and a 15-45mm F/3.5-6.3
To a Sony 20-70mm F/4 G full frame.
The F/4 will be better right for lowlight?
Still, it’s only a F/4
I mean a F/4 crop sencer vs F/4 ful frame, the full frame will win I lowlight😊
Great set up! ditch the go pro for a insta260 pro 2 and you're set
Love your tricharger and the story behind it 👍
Caged ZV-E1, Samyang 35-150 F2-2.8, Nisi True C VND, Black Mist 1/4.
DJI RS4 Pro (on it’s way).
The mini 4 is absolutely worth upgrading to 🤌🏼
@@PeterLindgren1 I’ll take that under advisement. 😀 I forgot to mention the Tri-charge! I love that thing. Everybody asks about it. 😎
Great video. Love the "simple" kit and complete explanations. Clean, quick, and packed with helpful information.
Glad it was helpful!
@@PeterLindgren1Quick question. Are you preparring version of your charger for Panasonic? I absolutely love the concept but I'm married to the Lumix S5II kit at the moment.
Would you recommend using a a7rii or the e10 ?
Great video! Btw, you should add a chapter for microphones (starts at 7:38)
Check out the Ulanzi carbon fibre tripod. It doesn't have the same issue with the ball head. It is cheaper and have great ecosystem with their F38 mount.
Is it as small and easy to use as the PD? I love this thing haha
@@PeterLindgren1 the Ulanzi is 180g lighter, collapsed length is 3cm higher, and cost is about 50% cheaper. Stability wise, both seems pretty bad but you would expect from a compact tripod that my wife is 'happy' to lug around :)
Is the circumference smaller?
I feel like the PD is such a tightly built tripod 💪🏼
Very good camera gear. I like it. My next investment will also be a Sony camera and lenses.
I started with a gopro hero 4 I bought off marketplace then got a gopro 8 now I have gopro 8 and 10 sony zv-1f canon r50 with 2 kit lenses wireless mics 2 rode shotgun mics countless lights and attachments for the cameras. Backdrops for filming and photography latest buy was the DJI r3 mini pro
what is the slider you are using ? can we get a video in it please?
Im not using a slider 🤷🏻
this video is infact where i found out aperture depth is related to lens hahah, also loved the intro got a sub from me!
I’ve used the tamron 17-28 and one of the main things I disliked was the reach.
Not having the reach is in my opinion not worth it!
Peter, have you tried the Nikon z8?
I have had it overheat on me at two different weddings, shooting in 4K60 FPS oddly enough they weren’t during the ceremonies they were actually during the speeches
But I don’t give a shit I love the camera.
Great review and also great setup not only for beginners 😂
What’s in my camera setup now:
Osmo pocket 3
Osmo action 4
DJI AIR2s drone
iPhone 15pro max
Canon EOS RP for making thumbnails 😊
Great video. So many individual reviews of products, but not many like these collective gear reviews. Had the unintended consequence of getting me to research many of these products during the video lol
Do you have a good recommendation for an on camera mic for a canon system?
I'm still using the A7R III and remember your videos about it, I'm not making videos so this is a monster camera for my photos. Otherwise, if I'd start videos, I'd go with any camera that can do slow mo and s-cinetone, so the a6700 or at best the FX 30 which in my opinion is the go to for great videos at a good price
A7RV, A7SIII, 16-35, 24-70, 70-200, Rokinon 35-150, Mini 4 Pro, GoPro 12?11?
A fishing video from the river bank, you would be shooting non-stop because fish can bite in any moment.
Bought the Julio
Tri-charger based on another video you did and it’s great for travel. We haven’t bought a drone yet but maybe this coming year. Thank you for sharing what you are using. Take care.
Vilken trevlig kanal jag missat! 🍻
Välkommen 🔥💪🏼
Hi @PeterLindgren1,
I hope you're doing well. I'm looking to start creating cooking videos set in the forest, and I could really use your advice. As a beginner, could you recommend a camera that would be suitable for this type of content?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards, Aram
can' afford anything here yet, but definitely coming back for that tri charger thingy 🤩😍🤩
2:47 yes hell of an expensive lens. Starting out the Tamron 17-28 for most is more than enough and a fraction of the cost. Just my 2 cents. Love the video as usual Peter! 🔥
I've used the tamron several times (i evenhave one), but it is simply not reliable!
@@PeterLindgren1curious as to why it’s unreliable for you?
AF issues, Dust sucked in to the zoom barrel, lack of contrast in sharp light
Amazing video! All great products, you're a master salesman cause I'm a Panasonic guy and it might be wonder if I should switch! Lol
Got the tri charge for Lumix now at least 💪🏼💪🏼🔥
but what if you started in 2024/2025 on a budget? (25k sek/2.5k usd/eur) a little big but kinda reasonable amount of money for second hand setup.
i’ve spent like ~10.000sek to start my photography adventure. canon 5d mk2, tripod, 24-105mm, 85mm, couple of sim cards, extra battery and a camera bag. (i’ve also had a gopro for a while)
i’ve got plans to buy a 16-35mm and a 70-200mm for landscape 😊
If I'm recording boxing matches or any kind of combat sports, being able to record in 4K 120 for over 30 minutes without over heating comes in handy for those sweet slow motion replays.
There’s no way those matches are 30 min straight lol!?
Oh yeah, 12ms rolling shutter speeds as well…
Shooting in low light with an m43 sensor is 🫠
Another thing I don’t like about the zv series is no viewfinder but i get it’s more for video but it would’ve been nice so I would get the a6700
Is there another way to connect the mic if you use a cage that covers the hotshoe?
Unfortunately not!
Great video Peter😊, the only thing that is missing in this set up is the gimble, everything else is great.
I very seldom use a gimbal though!
I never script my videos, just simple bullet points
Guys remember it’s not about the gear
But it sure helps
Shooter first, gears is a tools. Is how we used. Can't never have enough gears.
Gear is an absolute difference maker when you have the fundamental skills
@@directorzay4250 « absolute »🥲
i have this tripod and i jus put the camera in opposite position and i can shoot vertical
Try tilting it up and down while vertical
Would love to know what you'd buy in terms of lighting. 🙌
Between the ZV-E1 and the a7 IV, which would you pick being that they’re comparably priced? A7 IV seems to get rated higher in every shootout, so curious to your thoughts Peter.
If you’re more towards photos, then the A7IV!
Cool!
No 4k 120 without crop & no 4k 60 without crop.
Tell me again how it’s the better video camera?
@@PeterLindgren1 No 4K 120 at all
There is 4K 60 without crop.
And if you need Salomo, you have got FHD at 180FPS
The only downside is the 4K 120.
@@PeterLindgren1 Regardless... You are doing a great job! And I enjoy and learn from watching your content!!
Riktigt bra video!!
The power of a good lens.
I use the same lol DJI mini 4 pro and ZVE1
Man, I NEED to know how you take those BRoll product shots. Depth of field looks much lower than F2.8. Focal length looks fairly long. Maybe like 85mm? But if it's an 85mm prime lens, how do you get such smooth shots when most primes don't have OSS? Would you be able to use a gimbal with that long of a lens?
Using the 50mm 1.2 GM 💪🏼💪🏼! Incredible lens
@@PeterLindgren1 Didn't know that lens was so great for BRoll! I'm lucky it's one of the few that I have! haha
im using the sony a7iii with the kit 28-70 lens and the dji rs3 gimbal. ive been looking to upgrade my camera to more of a video first camera or a newer hybrid camera
10:11 looks like a video game scene from CyberPunk 2077
Hey Peter,
first off it was a nice video.
Hey, on what camera have you filmed the A Roll in this video?
Great video and great advice Peter. 👍 One thing that I’ve noticed since I bought my camera (Panasonic Lumix GH5) is that you should really take your time to research what camera you should buy. Depending on what you will use it for there’s pros and cons for each system. AND the main thing why this is important is that it’s an expensive pain in the b*tt to switch systems (most probably) 😂
Keep up the good work! 👊
YES! This is incredibly important haha!
Congratulation for reaching 1 million subscribers!!!
Hahaha still 400k away 😂
ZVE1 is great but where are the pancake lenses from Sony?
Thanks for many good videos. I think I have to upgrade my microphone... ;-)
Do you never use cage and/or top-hand? How does this microphone work if it's not connected in the flash-shoe (Swenglisch for blixtsko)
/ Matti in Jokkmokk
It only works if connected to the hotshoe!
That new studio looking sweet! ZV-E1 is the best!
Except when you try to live stream in 4K. Doesn’t last even 20 min when I tried it. At least the Sony A7siii lasted a while…
@@petersuvara I’ve never tried live streaming on it, but it does overheat in 4K 120fps after about 15 mins, but I mainly use 1-2 min bursts.
Of course there is a smaller one, it’s the MkIi
But this one works great 👍🏼
Love the editing Peter
Canon EOS R, EFtoRF adaptor, Yongnuo EF 35mm, Canon EF 50mm USM 1.4, Sigma EF APO 70-300 😉🤙
Hi do you recommend the fx30 or the ZV-E1 ?
ZVE1 unless you do a lot of long takes!
Do you recommend the Sony ZV E1 for vlogging ? Is it a good camera for talking head videos ?
It’s fantastic! Just be aware of the overheating possibility
Good stuff! Even better, the internal mics on the zv-e1 are pretty good. Especially with what we can do to audio in post now days.
Amazing recommendations, and I agree with pretty much everything. However, I think you left out one of the most important things/category, and that is lighting. In my opinion with good lights you can have a much worse camera setup any still create high-quality footage.
PETER! The setup looks epic!
Thank you!!
Bro! Love the color grade 🔥🔥🦾
