I thought I was doing it wrong until I realized seed stitch requires 4-5 rows before you can really see it lol.Such a beautiful stitch, thank you so much for posting
Love your voice, it's happy and jovial, fresh and encouraging. Thanks I appreciate your channel. I've learnt alot, only been knitting a year and thoroughly enjoy it 🙂
Thanks for these videos. My mum taught me to knit when i was a kid. Only scarfs really, but she always had to cast on for me and cast off. Through your videos, i finally learnt how to do this myself and started my first scarf in 30 years. :) Ill be doing more i think going forward though. You're an awesome teacher
I'm a 12 years old and im learning a knit if I'm getting bored And I learned alot from, sheep and stitch this is the best RUclipsr knit ever and also best explanation 👍🥰❤️
I've knitted several years, not perfect by any means mostly just knit with some purls. With your tutorials I'm eager to try new stitches and patterns. I love listening to you..so cheerful and clear directions. Thank you So much your your tutorials👍❗
I LOVE your videos!! You have a wonderful teaching style, simple and entertaining. So sensible! I will never cast on without hearing your funny "Hello!" when the thumb prepares to duck under the thread. And now you've saved my sanity on my first big project, a seed stitch blanket where the pattern had incorrect directions!!! Thank you, thank you!!
Thank you, thank you! I am new to knitting. Just found your channel. I am learning so much from your videos, very much appreciated. You are a great teacher.
I just started knitting about three weeks ago, therefore I am super new to this but I love it so far! I came across your videos on youtube and I must say your tutorials are super helpful thank you !! 🥳
Definitely under viewed and under commented. Wish I had known this channel years ago. But hey never to late to start again and I am going back to basics to regain confidence. Much appreciated 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi! I'm knitting my very first, gigantic seed stitch blanket, using a double seed stitch pattern. It looks great but there are a few rows where it looks like I must've goofed. There are a few rows that look like they were done in a stockinette stitch. Wah-wahhhh.
You're a great teacher! Thank you! Seed stitching is easier than I thought it would be. Although, I'm struggling to follow the way you're holding your yarn/needles and processing the stitches. I've been knitting for 40 years and am just now seen this method. I hold the working yard with my left hand so it doesn't involve all the movement and multiple wrapping. You just stick the needle in, scoop up the working yarn & pull it off in one movement. I believe it's called Continental style. Is there a name given to your technique? Thanks!
As someone that's been knitting in stockinette stitch for years, this is going to require A LOT of thinking 🤣🤣 I can't believe this is so simple though!
This youtube chanel is the best!!! I have learned alot from sheep and stitch even if I am only 9 years old. Also sheep and stitch explains better than the other knitting chanel I've watched. ^w^
I love your videos and they have helped me tremendously just starting out. Thank you so much! Do you have anything about continental knitting and/or why you prefer English style? Just curious!
I'm a new knitter who's very comfortable with casting on, knitting, and purling...my problem Is holding the yarn, needles and controlling tension...I'm a crocheter who's actually more comfortable with English style over continental...I'm going to give your style a try. It's the closest to my way I've seen
Can you help me please? I'm learning to knit. How should I handle the row where I want to bind off? Should I knit every stitch? Should I maintain the pattern of K1 P1? What is the best approach? Thank you for your recommendation. BTW: Great video. Super clear and easy to follow :😀
Is there a video where you teach how to wrap the yarn around your fingers to secure it as you switch from knitting to purling? I am having the hardest time figuring this out, I end up letting go of the left hand needle in order to pull the yarn from back to front and vice versa 😂 It's so not efficient haha I am really struggling with stitches that require switching from purl to knit in the same row.
Hello! I’ve watched your channel for a very long time and I love every single one of your videos each video is very detailed and informative. Just asking but would you be willing to make a tutorial on how to make socks. Just cause all the videos I’ve seen on RUclips for how to knit socks are not detailed or informative. So I would love it if you would be able to make a tutorial on it.
Thanks for sharing❣As a beginner, I enjoy watching your videos and learnt alot from your videos too🥰 Any special way needed to cast off for seed stitch or the usual way shown in your other video works fine too? Pls advice. Thank you🙏
I just watched your videos and it sooo easy to learn from your step by step process 😊 but I have one question, HOW do you your hands not cramp up 🤯??? I’m only 15 and my hands are crying with cramps 😂 btw I love your knitting pattern it’s so pretty 🤩
Hi. Sorry I’m going to sound stupid here, but I followed your instructions, good videos and very easy to follow, and my resulting seed pattern doesn’t look half as good as yours, or any that I’ve seen online. Also another problem I have is that i don’t find enough flexibility in my yarn which causes me to perpetually work on the tips of my needles which puts me at a greater risk of dropping a stitch, as a consequence my progress is really slow. Is there any reason for this - is this down to the needles/yarn I am using or just technique? Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thank you.
actually when i do seed stitch i lost in whitch stitch i was so please tell the tip to identify the purl stitch and knit stitch in seed stitch waiting for your answer
I think I’ve seen that before (I’m English so what you call seed stitch, I call moss stitch, but I think it’s the same!) It may well be that instead of knitting over the purls and purling over the knits (i.e. alternating every row), you instead work 2 or more rows of knitting over the knits and purling over the purls (as you would for ribbing) before switching to seed stitch again, that is, knitting over the purls and purling over the knits, except you then work the same row (knitting over knits, etc…) on the next row again! Does any of that make sense? So you get an almost ribbed effect for two rows but because you keep staggering it, it looks like a longer seed stitch… I hope that this helps a little bit!
This is incredible, thank you! If I make a scarf using this stitch, does it need to be blocked like a ribbed stitch scarf would? Thank you these videos are always helpful!
Is every row the same with the second option? If i start k1p1, and then knit the purl, every row starts with a knit because every row ends with a purl?
Could you please explain how to make regular increase (e.g. every 8 stitches) in an in the round jumper if I want it to be seed stitch? Is it even possible? Or does it have to be a raglan increase?
I was wondering why it was turning out ribbed, then after 10mins of thinking I realized I was purling my knits of the other side, therefore actually doing a 1x1 rib instead of the stitch 😭😭😭 That's what I get for impulsively starting a 3-point first time project, new stitch, shaping and winging a pattern (I'm making one) with no calculations
Can someone please help/advise me on a problem I am having with the seed stitch? I have no problem with the stitch itself BUT I am ending up with gaps/spaces in my fabric rather than a nice tight example like shown here. I am not doing any yarn over increases by accident. I am using Caron one pound worsted weight yarn and 4 1/2mm needles. It just seems way too loose 🤪🤷♀️Thanks in advance for any help🌻
She talked about that at the end of her purl stitch video! I can’t really explain it well bc I am a beginner knitter, but that’s where you can find her explanation about it!
Knit the knits and purl the purls. Knits have “v” knit that side ONLY. Purls have bumps. Purl that side only. I always tell myself that THE YARN IS ALWAYS ON THE BUMP SIDE.
I love your videos and please can you do a baby cacoon it's been my dream to knit it I can't because I don't know how to I have searched some up they have been difficult I love it if you could do it please thank you so much I also subscribed liked and turned the bell on please it would mean the world to me

this is good and but how is this easy? I've always knit the seed stitch like this and then the double seed stitch too. THEre is NOOOO easy way to knit, JUST KNIT and learn and keep on going, If knitting grabs you, you'll be hoooked for life and learn to love all the ups and downs and challenges it brings and you'll find so many rewards. just enjoy the process and forget about knitting easier or faster or speed knitting that will drive you right into Repetive stain injury, also Winding too many skeins at the same time will HURT your hands. this is a good video. nicely explained. thank you.

Do you have any cardigan, poncho and sweater tutorial for beginners? I have made shawls, scarves, hats and blankets but nothing more complicated!
As someone that's been knitting in stockinette stitch for years, this is going to require A LOT of thinking 🤣🤣 I can't believe this is so simple though!

Hi, I would like to see a tutorial on how to knit a blanket… would that be possible to make a tutorial on that particular subject?
TIA! 💕
I love these needles, what's the size?? I want to knit my first throw thanks to all your amazingly helpful videos!
These are 10mm needles and Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn
I do this but I never knew what it was called!

Thank you for this video! I came across a gorgeous pattern that stated “elongated seed stitch”- can you or anyone else please explain? Is it the same?
I think I’ve seen that before (I’m English so what you call seed stitch, I call moss stitch, but I think it’s the same!) It may well be that instead of knitting over the purls and purling over the knits (i.e. alternating every row), you instead work 2 or more rows of knitting over the knits and purling over the purls (as you would for ribbing) before switching to seed stitch again, that is, knitting over the purls and purling over the knits, except you then work the same row (knitting over knits, etc…) on the next row again! This is incredible, thank you! If I make a scarf using this stitch, does it need to be blocked like a ribbed stitch scarf would? Thank you these videos are always helpful!
Seed stitch lays flat so there’s no need to block it. The only reason to block is to make the scarf wider or longer
@@sheepandstitch Thank you so much thats very helpful to know!!! I appreciate you taking the time to reply back!

Hi, can you do this stich with an even number in your cast on?
Thanks 👍
Born teacher.
Now I want to go and knit something but I’m not entirely sure what I want to make. Any simple sujestions? I’ve made a few hats and scarfs already

Be brave! A raglan sweater. 😊
So if I have 96 stitches cast on and knitted, I can't use seed stitch for a few rows??
I was wondering why it was turning out ribbed, then after 10mins of thinking I realized I was purling my knits of the other side, therefore actually doing a 1x1 rib instead of the stitch 😭😭😭

Do you have a recommendation for circular bamboo needles?
Can someone please help/advise me on a problem I am having with the seed stitch? when I am knitting my knit stitches look like purls? and when I reverse them they still look the same...can you explain this to me?
She talked about that at the end of her purl stitch video! I can’t really explain it well bc I am a beginner knitter, but that’s where you can find her explanation about it!

Hi! What yarn and needle size did you use for this video? It’s super cute and I’d like to find something similar too it.
This is Lion Brand Hometown USA. The color has been discontinued sadly, but they still have a lot of other pretty colors. Needles are 10mm bamboo
hey can you please do a tutorial on how to knit a baby cacoon thx love your videos

Thanks for posting can u plz do ribbing stitch and more stich videos ❤🙂

davina in your website there are many patterns in that you told that there s a video pattern but i searched in the youtube sheep and stich every day raglen pattern but its not coming can you do the projets on youtube .
It's still a one row repeat even with an even number of stitches. You're still knitting the purls and purling the knits.
Hello, I knitted in the round and the seed stitch turns diagonal as I keep going. Is there any way to avoid that?
That’s unusual 🤔 Are you making increases as you go? I’ve never know sees stitch to have a bias when knit flat or in the round
Is it the same on round if it is seamless?
Hi. I bought one of your patterns on etsy and I need help to explain to me. Very urgently please!!!
Hi can you message me on Etsy about it?
can you plz sow us how you get out once youve curled 1

Why do I keep ending up with extra stitches 🥲
Real
Can I make this into a dishcloth?
Yeah! That would be nice
hi there! i’m the 4th comment!
You sure are! 😁
What size is your needle ?
Every time I try this it ends up as a rib! Help?
If it ends up as rib then you’re knitting the knits and purling then purls. What you want to do is the opposite: knit the purls and purl the knits
I keep getting holes in my knitting while doing this and I don't know how to fix it T_T
Holes in your knitting sounds like you’re accidentally dropping stitches! I made a video on that here: ruclips.net/video/1oP6EyCT93g/видео.html
Isn't this just 1x1 rib stich? Why different name then?
Please teach me brioche stitch
Rough and crunchy!!!! 😅😂🤣
bro when I tried I the stich just doubles

Easy as in you don't need to use a pattern. I thought that was implied.
When I was watching this I just realised that I was doing seed stitch instead of ribbing- lol
Haha that happens a lot!
@@sheepandstitch and I'm still confused on how to do ribbing ;-;
