Thank you for this. Even a beginner like me could manage this!! I'm 51,but sure they say you're never to old to learn
🧓😉😊
Watching your videos inspires me to take up knitting again. My grandma taught me to basic knit since I was a child. Thats the only thing I knew. I stopped for a long time. She has been gone for many years now, but knitting brings fond memories of my grandma.
So sweet, Kalia. Happy my videos are helpful to you. Yes, knitting brings back wonderful memories of my grandmother, too!
My friend introduced me to a knitting class. After the first meeting, we went into lockdown because of the Covid19. I am delighted to have you, thank you.
Teresa Brooker omg same we have Covid 19 here too sooo ya it’s a lot more calm and happier with knitting
i been painting for a year now and i been thinking on switching up the hobby and so far, the knitting videos are encouraging me to try it out ☺️
The seed stitch can you show it.
Thank you for the great instructions. I'm a new knitter and my seed stitch rows were coming out like the rib stitch you showed. Now I understand:-)
Pretty sure that’s another name for ribbing
I loved your slow demonstration.
I finally understand it !!
I tried for years to teach myself the beautiful seed stitch, with complete failure.
Thank you for being such a good teacher.
🥰❣️🥰
Thank you so much. I have taken over from my mother promising to knit my daughter a scarf ever year. I’m not a great knitter like she was but after watching your tutorial I’m confident I can pull this off. 😊
This was my most recent type of knitting to accomplish. Casting on with odd number of stitches definitely makes it easier. I used a pattern that had even number of stitches and row 1 was k1, p1 all the was through and row 2 was p1, k1. I messed up so many times as I forgot to purl the first stitch. I love your videos Kristen. Whenever I'm ready to try my next new style I come here to see you do it first. Thank you!!!
Oh my goodness!! THANK YOU for this video! It showed me where I was going wrong with Purl knit and you made it very simple for me. My knitting is now looking like yours without any stray stitches trying to add themselves on my needle 😁
This is the equivalent of moss (or rice) stitch in the UK and it's actually really simple: If you use an even number of stitches, simply repeat K1, P1 on each row. As a general rule for this particular stitch, when you turn your work to do the next row, you knit into the purl stitches of the previous row, and purl into the knit stitches (whether you are using even or odd number of stitches). I think this may be why some people in the comments below have wound up doing "rib" stitch by mistake.
Yes and thank you
Thank you for this comment it was super helpful as a beginner!!
Appreciate your explanation! Thank you.
This comment has changed my life!
Thank you so much for this video! It's been almost 8 years since I've knitted anything and this stitch always gave me trouble. Thank you SO much for explaining it so perfectly! I finally understand that I was looking at things backwards!😆🧶
Studio Knit has helped me so much!
Thank you for the seed stitch, a made a cowel for a friend with the stitch and she love it made it deeper in length so she can pull it up and she has a hood!!
I love your voice when you say "My little Woolies" its you're saying good night after read a bedtime story. :)
I'm an absolute beginner and my first project was knitting a whole pillow using this stitch, which I learned thanks to you! Thank you!
Wow, sounds pretty, congrats! 💖
wish we could see a pic of the pillow..sounds beautiful
Oh! When I was trying to learn the 1x1 rib stitch pattern, I didn't initially know what exactly I was doing and I ended up doing this pattern instead. And I was like, Huh? This ain't look right. LOL I just realized I learned how to seed stitch without realizing.
where you get needl i want to by
The exact same thing just happened to me!
LOL! I also made a seed stitch when I was trying to do ribbing. Tip: if you want to do ribbing (whether single or double) you want to start your next row opposite of how you started the first (i.e. if row 1 started on a knit, start row 2 with a purl, and vice versa). But if you want a fabulous seed stitch, just keep repeating row 1.
I did the same thing 😃
I love this stitch! I saw you use it as a border on a knit 4 below video. By far my favorite for borders. Currently working on smooth edges . . . found a crochet hook cast on that is absolutely beautiful, especially with the seed stitch. Thank you sooo much. 😊
Good Morning Kristen! Thank you for sharing & showing this Beautiful demonstration of how to do the Seed Stitch. I'm Certainly going to give this a try later on Today. I'm in the process of making a couple of Men's Neckwarmers for a Co-worker of my Daughter. And this stitch would look Great for that. I've seen the stitch before and tried it; but my stitching did Not look Pretty like yours in this tutorial. And yes, I ripped it all down and gave up. But you have Inspired me to try again, Thank you so very much!
This is an amazing pattern, I have had problems with seed stitch in the past but this pattern hasn’t caused me an problem. Seed stitch is my favourite stitch ever, and this is the easiest pattern ever it’s amazing, if you haven’t tried it I suggest you do because it’s amazing.
Thank you, I'm starting a blanket in seed stitch, and you made it simple for me!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much for posting the video. I'm ready to upgrade from garter, and your video made it so easy and comprehensive! Ready to take on a seed stitch blanket! Thanks again :-) :-) :-)
You are amazing! As a "Corona knitter" as I am called I totally love your instruction! This newbie gets it! I am so thankful for your guidance! You are my go to! Kudo's to you!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for this so much! I'm making my friend a baby blanket and it has a seed stitch border and I kept doing it as a 1x1 rib stitch!
Thank yo so much,it was difficult fornme to learn since I'm 10 y.o but I really enjoyed it and I can't believe I found you and now I know how to seed Stitch! I wish you an amazin day good bye
Sivan, I hope your knitting projects are going well. This would be a lovely stitch to use to make a cosy blanket. Knitting is difficult for me to learn as well. I'm 51 and it's my first time learning. I've just been buying pretty wool and using it to knit blankets in a plain garter stitch. I'm definitely going to give this stitch a go!! X
This is so pretty, and my new favorite pattern. You give such good instructions, it made it super easy to learn 🥰
This is so much easier than keeping track of rows and alternating. Thanks Kristin!
Thank you for the easy to follow tutorial 🥰
Wow I can't believe I found this channel only now. This video is super easy to follow, very clear instructions. Can't wait to try it out :)) thank you!

I have to try this one. I can do the Garter stitch. This looks fun. I like that you have the pattern on both sides.
I love your videos! I learned so many patterns from you and you're my first stop when I am having troubles or ready to learn something new! Thanks so much!
Making a scarf now! Thanks!
You really make knitting easy, I will be following all your videos
I'm a new beginner and I enjoy your videos. Thank you
Your tutorials are the best!!
Thanks so much for this easy pattern. I am a beginner and wanted to knit a wash cloth. Just love this.
Wonderful!
You're amazing. I'm a new fan Thanks soooooo much for teaching the seed pattern I had no idea how easy it was lol. Yay
I have been trying for an hour to make a seed stitch washcloth by following a written pattern and I turned my work into a jumbled mess. So I took it all out, took to youtube and tried again. everyone kept saying, "When u purl, make sure your yarn is at the front." but they never showed what that meant so i just kept turning my needles. Again, jumbled mess. then i find this video, you say the same thing, "make sure your yarn is at the front" BUT YOU SHOW WHAT THAT MEANS!!! I actually made a loud noise in exclamation i was so relieved. makes perfect sense now, thank you for saving my project!!
You are the absolute BEST!
I am 62.. I learned this stitch when i was 7yrs old.. over here we know this stitch as Moss Stitch.. so its always nice to know what other countries call it.. :) I do like how you explain it for new knitters out there..

I love your videos. You explain everything very well and when you talk and show how to do the stitch or pattern, you do it slowly, so I don’t have to keep going back in the video. Thank you!

Thank you so much I know what I was doing wrong now. It matters where you position the yarn before you knit and pearl.
This is most beautiful and easy stitch
I absolutely adore the seed stitch! It's such a fun stitch!! Thank you for sharing this!! =;)
It's my favorite. Check out Rosemary Drysdale's book Seed Stitch: Beyond k1 p1
It's beautiful I love it 😀
Thanks for this video. I really needed it. I love the pattern and chart together, in the video. So helpful. I was able to understand it. And seeing all the details together was exciting. Feeling confident. Ready to yarn work. Thanks again. 😊

Very helpful! Thank you!
Got it, thanks!👍
This helped me so much thank you
Thanks madam..
A v nice n easy pattern..
Have started it for a muffler..
V satisfying for beginners..
God bless you..
Lovely and simple
Very pretty
Very clear to follow, thank you :)
Wow! You make it look so easy! I've been doing stockinette stitch (knitting one row, purling one row) and I keep getting the curl of both edges into each other for my scarf and I've been trying to fix it. I even added a border of 3 knit stitches and it didn't fix it. So I'm looking forward to trying out this pattern on a new scarf that hopefully won't have a curl! Thanks again!
Helena Gould ya I do knit one purl one and it’s just the way the stitch is. I guess it’s made to curl idk
Hello and Thank you so Much for this Tutorial. 🤔 I have Never understood until Today how to get the Same look when trying to make this stitch. I would just give up and try a different stitch. 🙄 This is me at the moment after learning how to Knit it after watching your Wonderful Tutorial.😊 And Yes, that's my comment below from 3yrs ago. I had a lot of Learning to do back then. 😂Thank you again for Sharing and Teaching us all, it's Appreciated Much! ❤

Tiffanie Michelle new*
Kattpistol ! That was an obvious mistake, relax.
Tiffanie Michelle I WAS RELAXED
thanks this was sooooo helpful
Great tutorial! Thx
I'm overly ambitious in everything I do. I am working on my first needle knitting since moving from the loom, and I decided it would be cool to start with a 640 stitch sock weight yarn blanket.
I'm on row 3 and Your video just showed me 2 things I did wrong. Chalk that 5 hours up to practice! 🙃
love your vids
Your channel is fantastic! Thank you so much.
So sweet, thanks for visiting! 💖
Thank you for this video! You gave such a clear and concise explanation of this pattern. I do have a question. If I were to use this stitch pattern for say a dishcloth, can you explain how I would bind off? Would I just do a straight knit bind off? Thanks again and I look forward to your answer.
I bet if you bind off in kind it’ll look fine
i bought a pattern that calls for seed stitch but i’m half way through the project and have been doing a rib stitch the whole time AND I WANT TO CRY!!!! it feels totally unavoidable to get into a rib stitch! i’ve redone this pattern like ten times and i think mentally ill crack if i redo it again so it’s a rib stitch shawl and that’s the end of it! hearing you say they can turn into each other was validating haha
thank you!
Thank you for spelling out the pattern for me. I have tried to do this before but the instructions were not clear. My sister-in-law’s scarf is looking good!! 😊
