I'm a huge fan of the "feather and fan" stitch. It's an easy way to create something elegant that looks WAY more complicated than it actually is. Great video! I look forward to watching more. 👍
Same! I was wondering where you went! I used allll your videos to teach myself to knit. You have a very soothing voice and it’s easy and fun to listen to you. Thank you!
Thank you! Finally, a younger knitting influencer who knits English style! My Mom taught me how to knit a lifetime ago, and held the yarn as you do. I wasn’t good at it, so I switched to crocheting instead. Have wanted to try knitting again recently. I’ve tried to switch to Continental, but although it makes sense to my eyes and brain, my hands just won’t do it. Your video tutorials are helping me improve.
Love your videos!! Thanks to watching you beginner how to cast on, knit stitch, and purl stitch I am well on my way to creating the beautiful works I have so envied seeing others do. You are amazing and I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge in a most learnable way. You're doing a great job!! I'm a real knitter now thanks to you!!
Thank you so much! It’s SO great to see you again! I’ve been thinking about you during these crazy times, and am so hoping you’re okay. 😬 I’ve been keeping myself sane with knitting up a storm, lol. So thanks so much for teaching me! There’s just something so easy, fun and reassuring about the way you present things. 💕
Hi Davina, I have a request, if you could do a similar tutorial for different kinds of borders which look good. Wavy borders, straight borders, lacy borders etc. Please do a tutorial on that 😊🙏
Hey Davina! I can include the Farrow Rib stitch because it is a one row repeat and is pretty easy to knit. It is 3-multipled cast which has a repeat of *K2, P1* and the pattern is also reversible. Thx for all your vids!
Hi Davina, i hope i spelt your name correctly. I learnt to knit by following you and am so thrilled. You've this way of explaining that feels so easy to follow. I learnt from you how to avoid mistakes and I have made slouchy beanies, scarves and baby blankets so far. Love love love your channel and so happy. Some of the patterns is exactly what I wanted so this is a boon for me. Can't express how happy I am. 😍 God bless you
If you want a good cast on for Old Shell ("feather and fan"), try the Chinese Waitress cast on. It's stretchy enough to conform to the waves that the stitch naturally makes.
Feather and Fan is actually a different knitting stitch pattern to old shale. The confusion comes because in America, they tend to knit Feather and Fan stitch under the name "Old Shale". However there's a specific Ols Shale stitch that originated from the UK
Basket weave stitch? I am re-learning to knit after many years. There are several videos on the basket weave stitch, and none of them seem to agree with one another. Plus a few instructions seem very complicated and it's difficult for me to remember and keep track of what I'm doing due to various health issues. I was able to follow your instructions for the seed stitch and am now working on a either a really long scarf or wrap because I'm not really ready to tackle anything more complicated than that until I master a few basic knitting stitches.
Heyy I used to knit but when i started crocheting i stopped and am now starting again. I want to make a sweater that i really liked and idk what stitch it uses. any chance you can tell me if i send you the picture. and maybe guide me a little on what stiches are the best for sweaters?
Thank you for this very interesting summary of various combinations of "knit" and "purl". I only want to point out a small error in language. The verb "to lay" is transitive, e.g. "My hen lays eggs in the morning." The verb "to lie" is intransitive and describes a state of being, e.g. "My hen lies down to rest after laying eggs." A swatch of seed stitch, for example, "lies" flat; it does not "lay" flat. You are not the only one...this is now a very common error in English. I have watched many RUclips videos on knitting and all the RUclipsrs that I have watched make the same mistake. The content is great and much appreciated.
Thank you so much. I'm finally getting to understand knit terminologies it's such a relief! I absolutely love your channel, and can I say, I love how you do your narrations... 😃😃😃
Sure! Here’s my playlist for beginner knitters: ruclips.net/p/PLSZARCc5KSoRQGQY3LfbBgkxXsZEq2r2_ start with the slip knot, then cast on, knit stitch and end with the cast off
I had a conversation with my cousin; who has knitted for over 20 years and she says there’s no such thing as a knit stitch. It’s all knit and purl ! Yet; I keep seeing videos like yours that says that there are different stitches, even though even you repeat knit and purl, when you’re talking about the various stitches so I’m just a little confused being a total newbie. Yet the test squares look different; so therefore there are different stitches!!! Uggh…help! I have ASD so please help me not go crazy over this; even if both are correct - that will allow my brain to relax.
I'm a huge fan of the "feather and fan" stitch. It's an easy way to create something elegant that looks WAY more complicated than it actually is. Great video! I look forward to watching more. 👍
I agree! It’s such a deceptively simple stitch! Thanks for your kind words 🤗
Your back on RUclips. I was wondering where you went. Your the person I learned to knit from.
I’m back! 😅 with a bundle of new videos!

I was about to learn how to crotchet this year but this inspired me to first advance my knitting beyond just the bare basics. So thank you :)
Your a great knitter! It’s very easy to understand how you explain knitting.

This came at the perfect time! I just started learning recently from your beginner playlist and was looking for more ideas! Thank you ❤️
I'm a full beginner and I loved these ideas. Excited about the fact that I can make beautiful stitches even as a beginner. thanks 😀
Thank you so much I really love the different stiches you shared. Will definitely try feather & fern. Looks so pretty. ❤💯

@@sheepandstitch there i corrected your name. 😊. My name is often spelt incorrectly and i find that very painful.

I loved open honey co stitches
Random comment, but can I just say I ❤ your style?

The waffle stitch is a good one.
Very interested in the feather and fan stitch.
Could u also show the full sweater to be knitted from down to top...
Thank you.
What do you think would be the best stitch for a pin cushion? I think it should be as solid as possible.
Heyy I used to knit but when i started crocheting i stopped and am now starting again. I want to make a sweater that i really liked and idk what stitch it uses. any chance you can tell me if i send you the picture. and maybe guide me a little on what stiches are the best for sweaters?
Any chance you have a video for the regular honeycomb stitch? 🙂

Stockinette looks like an easy stitch
Yup. It’s a very simple stitch!
Herringbone !
Ah yeah! That’s a good one!
Seed stitch seems simple
Which would you say uses the least yarn?
How are these with color change im attempting my first time changing color and I’m a pretty new knitter
All of them work well with color change! Just change the color at the beginning of the row and weave in the tail ends when you’re done
What stitch looks good, can make a warm scarf and yet not eat up so much yarn?
Lace is always a good option. Purse stitch would make a beautiful lacy scarf
Thank you so much. I'm finally getting to understand knit terminologies it's such a relief! I absolutely love your channel, and can I say, I love how you do your narrations... 😃😃😃
PART 2 Please 😭😭😭😭😭😭❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can yuo do tutorials for every stitch, please?🥺
I have! They are linked in the description of the video 😃

purl and knit
Stockinette stitch
Purse stitch
Can you send how the all stees
Cual sería "morley" ?
Where are the instructions? This just states the stitches but doesn't show how to.
Ok, so now how do do them?
There are links to all the stitch patterns in the video description 😉
why are the names so important? show how those stitches are done, not what their names are
The stitch tutorials are linked in the description 😉
isn't that crochet?
Nope this is all knitting. Crochet used a hook
@@sheepandstitch oh get it now ty
I of course like the hardest but I'm new to knitting so I will learn the easiest and hope I can get it.🧶💗
Good luck! The “hardest” isn’t actually that “hard” 😆 but just relative to the easiest stitch
@@sheepandstitch I've heard that also. Is a potholder okay for the knit stitch or do I need to do purl every other row?
