Recently, Nintendo released a new copyright directive authorizing RUclips Creators to post Gameplay from the moment it is creative imput and work well. Which is the case on my videos since it's from my own experience and since these video will help people to find what I've been preparing about theory and stuff and can give these video link to actual proof of a theory video that I will make especially with Pokémon. (Since they are directly affiliated to Nintendo)

I never really questioned the charizard at the end as a kid but now that i see this again, a charizard is kinda the final boss of this game.

the beta intro originally featured venusaur and blastoise popping up rather than the 3 johto starters. they probably kept charizard cuz it had a full animation that looked cool (not to mention it was and still is one of the most popular pokemon)

Up until about 5 seconds ago, I always thought in Gold that was Ho-oh’s head moving up and down at the start screen.
Just realized that’s its wings moving and my parents bought me the game when it originally came out. jfc

Impergator all the way
Easily. Not just for the nostalgia, but for the ability to replay the entire Kanto region on hardmode after conquering Johto. These are some of my favorite games of all time.
This one and 5th are my favorite ones.
Gen 1 is way better though

The hours I spent on this game alone listening to the music in the opening, national park, ecruteak city and new bark town truly amazes me. Best damn soundtrack of the pokemon series

I also remember that nothing made my heart beat so fast as when I heard the fast-paced music when finding any of the legendary dogs in the grass. You only had one shot to damage it and try to catch them.
Gold, Silver and Crystal were just too big of an upgrade from Red, Blue and Yellow that I loved them more than the OG games right away when I played them as a kid. There are so many iconic moments in this game like the franchise's first "That Boss" in the form of Whitney's Miltank, the inclusion of my favorite type, Steel-type, the inclusion of my personal favorite Pokémon Tyranitar, and it acts as a real sequel to Red, Blue and Yellow not seen in the franchise until Pokémon Black and White 2 were rolled out. It's nice to fight the original Kanto Gym Leaders with high level Pokémon and fighting Red at the end was epic.
I remember as a kid this generation truly felt new and exciting with a whole new region and new Pokemon. I loved it, it was truly a new experience.
The title screen with Lugia along with the music sounds just like it did back when I first beat RED on Mt Silver after the credits ended...

Same. I know it has its flaws and stuff like Gen 5 easily outshine it but Gen 2 means a lot to me personally and even with BW2's existence, it failed to grab me like GSC did.

I find it quite poetic how Charizard is many times the Anchor of Red's team, making him the true final boss fitting this intro all the more.

It kinda depends on what mon you have out, but he often times saves Zard for last. It can vary a bit.

People keep saying this but I've yet to face Charizard as his life no matter how much I've switched my lineup up

Unfun fact: In HGSS, some bits at 1:45 were removed for some reason, it would have been better if that was kept in that theme.
Someone else created the HGSS version in the BW soundfont and put the missing parts back into the theme, which in turn made the theme even better than the HGSS version, the BW version sounds almost the same as the HGSS one.

I think what is a bummer is removing the theme at 0:52.

Little did they know what amazing series it would become from here on out...
As much as they deserved success and continuation, it's a little sad that the future gens lost something special that this opening conveys once they had their guarantees
I originally thought Lugia's was meant to represent a dark storm as akin to Ho-oh's clear sky.
This title screen was better than Crystal's as they removed the looong theme before the iconic one took over.
When legendary pokemons were really mighty and mysterious.
I hated how in Crystal and in HGSS they cut out the first part of the title theme and skipped to the beginning of the familiar pokemon theme
Imagine newgen gold/silver remake where Gold and sulver running with their signature pokemon and evolving throughout the game progress player made. And in final version Gold riding Typhlosion on plains and Silver surfing on Ferraligator, while Ho-Oh appears in sky and Lugia swims out of water.
I love the fact that their eyes are just plain white, I’m a big fan of that

Even though I grew up with RBY and Yellow's opening screen ought to be more nostalgic for me, somehow Silver's opening is even more iconic. I don't know why, since Crystal was the first game I played in that gen lol. But I love it, it's so evocative

So much nostalgia... Back in the day, I had Gold and Crystal. I had the chance to own Silver, but my dumb ass said "I already have two Pokemon games!" When my mom bought it, so she returned it 😭
There’s a glitch that will make Ho-oh appear in color but I can’t remember all of it. Just that it’s a coin case glitch thing
Hello mate, i was wondering the same thing. When i was a kid It happend to me by accident cause i droped the GBA to the floor. I asked many people but you are the first one that knows about it.

When we were kids i had gold my cousin had silver we would play alot together compare pokedex i grew with pokemon but for him sadly it was a phase
Amazing opening in 8bits.
When the game title is seen, the music that begins has a Zelda kinda feel where as Crystal’s start screen skips this small part.
This gives me nostalgia that I don't even have. I have never played through the Johto games, but this just something that makes me emotional. I really hope remakes come out.

This title screen was lit ,gamefreak should do something like this in one of their new games. And yes, I know ,Game freak may have given up on pokemon but look at these and tell me they dont look nice to look at.

The Charizard in the opening isn't Red's but is the Charizard of Lance as he gets in gen 2

@@Onigirli See, Officially at that point in time, Red was suppose to be the character who takes any of the three starters. So it does not make sense that the charizard would be of red. However Lance gets charizard in gen 2, which adds on to this theory.

I can't help but notice that people didn't closely listen to The Legend of Zelda theme at 0:52.
I'm not the only one who noticed that. Usually, I let someone post stuff like that before for fear of criticisms. It probably was intended to be a Zelda easter egg. They do have some similarities (each of them do have save files, put your name in, and how the camera is angled above in the area you're in for the game boy games), and Nintendo did make those game, but at least Game Freak also made Pokemon, but did not make the Legend of Zelda. I remember hearing the beginning of the title theme sounding similar for the first Legend of Zelda and Pokemon Gold and Silver Version.
