Love Z-Mans innovations. Already put my order in for the new TRD and the hook. The hook reminds me of the Owner Bullet type hook which has been a staple in my arsenal for 20 years. I see it working well with Elaztech plastics. They need to creat a spider/hula plastic to go with that. Would absolutely kill.
I'm going to be throwing these in the surf and in the So Cal harbors. I'm convinced the watermelon colored craws look exactly like juvenile spiny lobster. I think the calico and spotted bay bass will murder these. Wish me luck!
Similar but shakey heads are generally heavier than Ned rigs and typically employ a screw mount whereas this utilizes a wide gap style hook. Both are highly effective and can be fished similarly.

How did it go? I have the same idea here in the northeast, but for weakfish/grey trout and with their shrimp profiles.
The TT Nedlockz EWg must have come out after that hook. It's a much better weedless option!

James Kupihea well o tried to with the trd and if you’re not trying much it’s hard I haven’t used it on a trd craw yet gonna do it soon tho.
