C8+ is a nice upgrade over the old version. Its a little shorter than the old C8 also. I'm doing that LED tail switch mod also but for me I dont use 3.7v cells, I use the 3.2v 18650 LifePO4 cells which are only 1800mah max so I'm curious how the battery life will be when I get the C8+. The LifePO4 cells dont have as much noticeable voltage sag as standard Li-ion cobalt so my runtime will be short and less bright, but constant brightness!
I ordered a Convoy from Gearbest and never received it. Still trying to get my money back. Now they quit responding with me. Otherwise great review. I will get a c8+ also, but not from Gearbest
I already have s2+ and s21A both in SST40 and now I'm looking for my first budget thrower. This model has too many led variants. The SST40 is my first choice but now that you mentioned the osram leds, is that the best throw led for this model? Thanks!
I just ordered everything to do it. From what I understand if you buy the LED tail switch for the Convoy models it just screws right into the C8+ with no need for any bleeder resistor. Banggood has blue and orange LED tail switches for the Convoy flashlights. I will try this out when it all comes in.
Maybe. There are some variations of the 7135*8 biscotti driver used in the C8+ and newer S2+ models. I see one person in the review of the LED tail switch say it works perfectly with biscotti driver. But if you read through this forum there is some suggestion that there are some drivers with older firmware that could be still out there. I'm hoping all those got sold and the one I just ordered will be the revised firmware. Some good info here nevertheless if your planing to own he C8+ or S2+. budgetlightforum.com/node/61100
This is the LED switch I'm hoping will work without issue. There's an orange color one also. www.banggood.com/DIY-1288-LED-Lighting-Switch-For-Convoy-C8-M1-M2-S2-S2-Flashlight-p-1222301.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CN
what the point to compare both flashlight that use same led, same reflector and same size, of course it about the same... but the convoy c8+ new body is more beauty compare to astrolux that use old c8 design... but astrolux will be brighter little bit because it use fet driver... that blf fet driver also only cost $3 , so it can easily be swap into the convoy... convoy body is better in handle heat, i have both convoy and astrolux that had been swap to xhp50.2 led that will get very hot and can burn your hand after 3minute run on turbo, but convoy can cool down faster, thanks to its extra fins design..
I want to order new cheap & interesting flashlights, but these god dang tariffs and import fees make it so expensive. My flashlight collection has been on a standstill for quite some time now .. =(

King of budget lights without a doubt, I wish all made in China are this good.
I've got the C8 +. It's a really great light for the price .
I have one on the way. I hope it's the 1A because I want it bright as possible. I will change the LED if it isn't.
good review , its better than my acebeam L17 and 1/2 the price orderd mine from amazon.
With OSRAM led, it's as close as it can get to a laser flashlight on a budget !!!

Can access strobe from off mode?
I just got mine today. It's very impressive. I wonder if I could run it on a pair of 3 volt CR123As?
No that would exceed the working voltage of 4.2V
@@LiquidRetro Thanks. I was just curious because I have an Olight M2T that can use either.
@@LiquidRetro best batteries to use with it?
Can you post a video of you doing the tail cap light mod?

Would love to see a video of your process and a parts list.
Jon M You may run into issues with lights running the newer firmware.

Great light am late to the discovered … but at full throw it flicks . Tested different batteries no luck.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by flicks at what I'm guessing is full power?
Discount code doesn't seem to work for me
Instead of a glow cap you should use tritium...If u have extra $ and patients. Just an idea. Good review.
i ordered the astrolux c8 is the convoy better?
I'm not sure what the differences are exact. Sorry

Get them with the OSRAM led, it's much much better !!!!
Looks great.

What country?
no import fees, i use priority direct mail from banggood and never pays fees...
Do you live in europe? Do you live in Sweden?
Do you happen to know who that girl is in your avatar? Lol I think it's my buddy's sister, who is a model. Last name VanTassel
modded mine to a triple build.
Gary Dioquino would you mind explaining what a triple build is, thank you in advance.
@@fat_head_Carl triple led inside.
I think the astrolux c8 is still better at a price
Very similar lights
That’s not a thousand meters 😂
