Here be a list of products we've tested that don't suck: www.amazon.com/shop/torquetestchannel Including flashlights.
If they make a Wedge 2, we'll pit the Akfeld Pro against it, along with the requested here Surefire Stiletto. Any others wedge-y like?
As always, the creator of this channel is working in product development for Astro Tools who also make lights, but no wedge/pen lights atm. Always consider multiple sources when looking at a product!
Please include RovyVon next time! They're kings of EDC lighting.
@johnjingleheimersmith9259 do they made a model that sort of fit the wedge category?
Monstrum also has another model - the Tracer 1000 Ultra Slim.
And thanks for this video. This was a great episode!
I own the Arkfled Pro. It is a super handy/useful light. Light/Laser/UV. Surprisingly bright for its size. Can't wait to see when y'all review it
@@TorqueTestChannel looks like the Angel Eyes E30 Sleek EDC Tactical is wedge shape and size. Dual battery power sounds interesting…
It's sort of refreshing that most of them came as advertised. That's becoming exceedingly rare.
I was just thinking the same thing. None of these are scammy junk.
These reviews are working! Good Job @TorqueTestChannel!
I too was surprised that these were above their advertised light output. At least these don't fall into the huge category of "Amazon Junk".
Why no arkfield pro?
@@TheRealColBoschI disagree, it's not really surprising at all considering the emmiters themselves are very cheap.
In the contrary I find it frustrating that a 1000lm light is nearly 100$. That feels pretty scammy in this day and age. Compare these to a $40 hank light and these are just overpriced junk.
Stuffy proof is a must for all my lights!
Gunna have to add a new column
+5 sec stuffy exposure at this price point is literally unheard of. The future is now.
This might sound like lip service, but I really mean this; the fact your daughter wanted to give those lights a Stuffy test gives me faith in humanity. It's easy to ignore our kids and let them fend for themselves, but to know she's engaged with what her dad does and learning by example, we need more of that in the world.
Oh you should see her with a 1" M18 impact! Haha, thanks man
@@TorqueTestChanneltruly a terror to behold 😂
@@TorqueTestChannelYou should rig up a special episode of torture tests where you rig up a stuffy with PPE and have it "push" the items off the ladder via fishing line. She'd get a kick out of it and we'd get to see a little more faith in humanity restored :)
You could then have her help packaging and selling them. It could provide padding for the college/first-business fund.

I have a 8 d cell maglight that wants to do a stuffy test on you.
WTF I want a flashlight now.
Also I love your presentation: straight to the point - no BS, no intro, no backstory, no "hey what's up you guys it's ya boi"
the best, least biased, and most to-the-point consumer testing available currently. This and project farm.
Yep, I watch everything from both!
Agreed! Both provide great service to humanity! 😊
The arkfeld pro is awesome because it has a hidden feature wherein the user can turn on the laser and double tap the power button to also turn on the flashlight simultaneously. As an Automotive guy myself, this is very useful for showing someone an issue.
Thanks! I must've missed that in the manual. Just tested, it works. May seem like a rare use-case but if you need to point at details in the dark it fits the bill!
Huh mine doesn't do this. Just tried. Maybe it's an old version. Bought it or maybe a year ago
Edit: ah it must be a pro option. I just have the lower end one
Agree 100%
Just wish that the UK version used a laser that is visible in daylight and a neutral emitter. I feel like they've done their UK market dirty.
I'm constantly recommending this channel to anybody that will listen lol And a few that tried not to listen. But being at my son's just now getting into the automotive field. My dad did it for over 40 years and I did it for 8 years. It's nice to know what we can sometimes buy for a little bit cheaper versus going ahead and paying them the big bucks for. I've been trying to get my son to save money on certain tools that you don't have to buy the very best of. But I know it's tough cuz weekly he gets to walk onto the tool truck and see all the nice new shiny things😅
yep and also project farm is a good channel too!
One thing that should have been discussed, since these are EDC type lights, are the pocket clips. Streamlight has an excellent clip, especially if you are a fan of deep carry.
glad to know they're all stuffy resistant, it's a factor so many flashlight makers are suspiciously silent on
Your daughter giving them a test with her stuffed rabbit was cute! 😊
I have the arkfeld. I use it every day. The primary reason I bought it over anything else is the magnetic back is superbly useful, especially as someone who works on cars. If I need light in my engine bay when I'm out I can just attach it to the hood. It's great.
Exactly, I knew they had the magnetic charger, but it never registered to use it to stick to things until a few weeks ago I was installing a tow hitch on an FJ Cruiser and accidentally got too close to the frame with it in my hand and it snatched it away! I slapped myself for not thinking about that before! I left it right where it was as it was the perfect angle to complete the job hands free!
Double sided clip is nice too when you need both hands. Clip it on to your hat and you can get both hands on whatever you need without choking on your light
recently got a wedge for Christmas and its been amazing. the battery life id the kicker for me as well as the consistent light output. being able to charge it once a week and it be fine is just too convenient
Good comparison! I got the Arkfeld Pro for a month long on-site visit to my company's chemical plant down south. It worked extremely well - plenty bright, long battery life, neutral white temperature, waterproof for when I worked through rain, and being able to turn on the flashlight and laser pointer together is nice.
Throughout making this entire episode we each eventually mentioned we just want to buy an Arkfeld pro now. There were many more requests for simply "arkfeld" in comments, and we were trying to stay at the Wedge price ($90) or under. But the $99 pro might tip the scales into being the stand out.
I got the Pro after someone stole my original arkfeld at work (left it on my desk overnight on accident) I've enjoyed both of them.
@@unglued94ta Did you end up getting the neutral white or cool white model (temperature of the light)?
@@TorqueTestChannel Are you planning on getting both models of the Arkfeld Pro to test (neutral white and cool white temperatures)?
If not, I've enjoyed the neutral white model (only available in the black housing). I've used it for color comparisons between white and off-white product samples, which I understand would be much more difficult with the cool white washing out colors.
@@Alex-hu7mz Neutral white always if an option, for wiring color identification. It makes thing easier on the eyes up close as well. Would love if Streamlight made a new Wedge model them we could make a follow up episode, maybe include surefire as well.
It’s impressive how lights have advanced, thank you for the rundown. I don’t have a wedge light but want one now.
I switched over to an arkfeld pro a few months ago and I absolutely love it. I use the UV light way more than I ever thought I would. Run time has been excellent. Another point worth mentioning is the laser pointer. The only thing I don't like about it is the clip placement. On many lights, you can change if the light is carried lens up or lens down via clip placement. Not so with the arkfeld. The only reason I mention it is against better judgement, I sometimes hold the light with my mouth while working on short tasks. The clip is well... not very comfortable.
I use the Olight almost daily, I have the version with the laser and its great in construction when I need to point stuff out.
Been carrying the stream light wedge for over a year now and it's been an absolute peach. It has been very handy to have.
worth $90???
@@AnotherScreennameAbsolutely, I love my wedge more than all of my other lights.
The wedge is so good that I own two of them now!
And I use to be a Surefire guy.
The Olight with the UV light, laser, & flashlight is my EDC go-to as an industrial mechanic. The laser is very helpful when trying show other mechanics a failed part or a leak that is 40-50’ above the deck. The UV light works great with fluorescent leak detection fluid & the regular ‘on’ light is decent enough for most illumination applications. When I need more light it is available too. I dislike the magnetic charger as I must keep removing metal chips from it throughout the day or it arcs out and gets very hot. I also dislike the mag charger because it cannot recharge without it, but the battery lasts for weeks so I leave the charger at home to prevent losing it.
I'm in commercial construction and likewise agree that the laser/uv/light combo of the Arkfeld Pro is my undisputed EDC choice
I just run a small piece of electrical tape around the "bum" and peel off when covered in metal flake. Wish someone on Etsy would 3d print a small end cap for this magnetic issue.
I work in fleet repair and do alot of work at night in the yard. The arkfield has been my go to light for over a year now and I still use it daily. It has a few chunks in the aluminum housing and I've personally noticed that it won't charge off of a laptop usb port or a USB hub but I have dozens of USB bricks I can use to charge it. I've dropped it from the tops of box trailers and it still works, had it fall into used oil but it still keeps on preforming. I recommend the arkfield to anyone who carries a flashlight with them daily.
Do any of you guys have a problem accidentally turning it on with that button design? Really considering this light for work and keep my streamlight for my EDC in my pocket.
@@SteveSRT hasn't happened to me with either Arkfeld model, although carry method and adjacent items are probably significant factors to consider (I carry it clipped in my back pocket where it rides next to my wallet, and I try to make a habit of not sitting on it)
Ive had the EDC27 for about 6 months now and i love! My favorite flashlight of all time. Doubles as a flashbang with that ultra bright strobe feature. No joke legit jarring, especially if you're in a low light situation.
Also, the clock feature the referred in this video is not actually a clock. It's a countdown timer for the amount of time left in the mode in which you're using it. Just wanted to clarify for everyone who might have been confused or wondering why the hell you would have a clock on a flashlight.
I've EDC27 and love it to bits. Because of the claim of it having a clock I had to go through the manual in case I had simply missed that option :)
1:20 "and it charges with usb-c like every light today hallelujah" Thankfully lights can still be purchased that come with replaceable rechargeable batteries, otherwise all you are buying is ewaste.
I've been using the Stream light for 2 years in a Ford dealer quick Lane. Both years have been great and battery holds up great. Dropped and splashed with various fluids, I found no issue with the open charging port. Sure it takes a while to charge but the battery lasts a good couple weeks for me and I just leave it plugged in overnight when needed. Highly recommend. Just buy it
Been carrying the streamlight wedge for close to two years now. Absolutely love it, I use it everyday for technical inspections at work and projects on the weekends.
My old man and I have been using Streamlight for many years. I cannot say enough good about them. Especially the fact that they're headquartered in the USA - Pennsylvania to be specific.
Holy crap, they are right down the road from my parents house!
GREAT JOB ON THIS !! Thanks, this was extremely helpful. The drop/abuse tests at the end are so appreciated! Subscribed!
I have the stream light wedge. Love that light for doing inspections. Only problem I had was the pocket clip doesn't hold it tight enough to keep it in the pocket. So I put some heat shrink on it at the locker clip area, and now I know I won't lose it.
I'm always amazed at how well you've developed this channel over the years. Also listening to good suggestions from us. I'm an auto mechanic and always appreciate you're hard work bro 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
My nitecore dual led key chain light died because of a squirt gun fight with my sons. Not very wet at all. I was SOOOO disappointed as I had been wanting to buy it for years but couldn't justify the purchase. It has sat dead on my workbench for the last couple years reminding me that fancy trash is still trash.
Just checked this one and it still turns on, but stutters like in the video from drop testing
Which model did you have? I’ve had a TIP SE on my keychain for 4 years now, it’s been dropped in puddles plenty of times. Paint is chipped up and body is dinged but it’s still going…
@@TheXxRenzxX That model exactly
@@TheXxRenzxX FTW, I've had a TIP2 for years, it's never failed and holds a charge for a long, long time (at least 6 months). It's been out in all weathers, dropped in the mud and in the latest monsoon rains we've had. It's on my keychain, so it gets pretty bashed around. The only real issue I've had is it going into demo mode twice over the last 6-7 years.
Always love these light comparison videos. I’ve got an Olight Baton Pro that’s been my EDC for the past 6 years and I’ve been eyeing the Arkfeld since it came out. I might have to get one on order soon!
Don't get this version they have the pro version with 1,300 lumens.
Dude so awesome how you guys test these various products! Keep it up!!
Side question - of all the items you've tested over the years, have any of them made it into your personal life? As in, liking the nightcore so much you bought another one for yourself ?
Yes! Perfect timing as I was about to buy one of these. Thank you.
I got the arkfield pro as a Christmas present and have loved it so far. I think the best part about it so far is that you can clip it to a hat to use it as a headlamp.
A hat clip is a good feature
I use mine everyday. I still use the original version, just not as often.
I just ordered a streamlight wedge for work. One of my co workers has one and i really like it. Its nice and slim and usb rechargeable. After swapping to the ridge wallet and key chain im loving the small footprint stuff. Less bulk in my pockets.
I love my trusty Surefire Stiletto Pro light that's an oddball wedge shape. Dropped it in my turtle pond and took 3 days to retrieve it + survived a wash & dry cycle, too 😂
I have two use them everyday
Awesome video! Thank you for testing these as I am in the market for a wedge shape light. I was really eyeing the Arkfeld pro and after this video I definitely going to get it. Also, the nitecore just looks so big. Yeah it is the brightest but I'm more interested in ease of carry for this type of light
I switched from a streamlight stylus pro to the olight arkfeld. Being a tech it's great that it has a switch between uv and bright light. It's been a happy 3 months with it. Also got it for $65 on black Friday
I understand why people use them in shops and auto mechanics, the side switch on the stream light is nice for glove wearers, easy to activate.
I’ve noticed that CR123A style EDC lights are making the rounds on Reddit. I bought two right angle lights (iProtec and Nebo, both sold at Bass Pro/Cabela’s) and two forward lights (Olight Baton 4) recently and they are very good. Thank you for making a video on wedges, I have been curious on these lights and I’m pretty convinced on buying one for pen-light styled armament for my electrical work.
I love my little nebo slim mini, i drive a semi truck for a living and it's super convenient having a flashlight clipped to my pocket whenever i need it for those early morning pre trips or to check the 5th wheel wedge.
Nice review. I have the Olight and the Nightcore. I find your comments very accurate for both lights. As a service plumber I prefer a round light with a magnetic base and use an assortment of Olight S2R Baton 2's for my service work but when carrying a light when I'm off I like the wedge type lights. Looks like I'll be picking up the Streamlight wedge to ad to my rotation. Thanks for the review.
My wedge is between 2-3 years old now and I still love it and use it every day and night letting the dogs out!
I'd like to see how the Surefire Stiletto Pro comes in against it, with such a massive difference in price.
I set a mast down on my stream light wedge with it in a pinch point
It bent, yes, but did not shear, supported the mast untill I performed a final function check of the lift, when it flipped out. No lithium battery trouble, it was still lit bent at a 45 degree angle on the flat.
Thanks for the comparison, makes it easier to pick one. I have a RovyVon E3 on my keychain and it's proved to be a very useful EDC, but I'm looking to add something small-ish to my toolbox, with a little more endurance and brightness. These Wedge lights seem to be just the ticket.
I really like the simplicity of the switch on the Streamlight: off / on / bright under a single lever switch. Can be operated by feel, and is not as easy to bump and switch on in your pocket or toolbox as a pushbutton. And I really hate those multifunctional pushbuttons: off - on - bright - blink - flash - flash differently - SOS - off, that sort of nonsense.
I had a Streamlight Wedge for almost three years. I got one as soon as they were trickling into the market. It was amazing. I beat the snot out of that light working in auto repair every day. Thought I lost it... Cried and bought a new one... Then found it in my door pocket! It eventually started to swell so I sent it to Streamlight and got a fresh unit. Now I carry around two every day. Keep one on charge, one in the pocket.
Interesting review, thank you for it, I use to be a Streamlight user as a LEO, it was my go to, but Olight has become my all around go to lights now 100% of the time.👍🏾💯
I’m an appliance service tech and I have the olight pro and I love it, we use the UV to detect refrigerant leaks, so this works out perfect for me
I've got the olight arkfeld pro and I love it. The laser pointer and uv light get daily use (especially the uv since I am potty training a puppy) Have yet to completely kill the battery since the charger is so easy to hook up. I usually pull it out of my pocket and on the charger while I'm getting clocked in and the first car in my bay and it's at or near full charge every time. My streamlight has just sat in my box since I got this.
Would love to see the Surefire Stiletto added to the ratings. Excellent review!
I have owned an Arkfled Pro for a number of months and so far I am happy with it in the Natural white color. 🤠👍
Thanks for the detailed review! I work in the technical side of theater, lights, sound, rigging, adult supervision. I've had the Arkfeld Pro for a few months, and it is great for my work. I can use the green laser to tag lighting instruments that need attention. Sweeping an area with the UV shows the glow-tape tags we put on things really well. And the white light with different intensities is great. Yeah the mag charger cable is "unique" but it works and I keep a spare in my kit. Important is a good lock-out. With another instrument, I'd wonder at times why my pocket was getting warm, or someone in the booth would let me know my pants pocket was glowing... I still carry a Nitecore TIP (very well used!) as a backup. When you are working up in the rigging, you have backups (for many things).
Great test! I had hope for the Nitecore when I saw it was in the test, because my Nitecore headlamp really does a great job, it's an 18650 model. Geez it's even too bright for close inspection work.
I love this content. Great testing and info for everyday tools!
There are a handful of channels that I follow, and it’s always awesome to see some REAL people. Love the bit with your daughter at the end. 🤙🤙
I own a EDC27. I think you glossed over the fact that Nitecore is very much upfront that you do not get 3k lumens for 30 seconds (typical ANSI), they even give you a LED display showing you at the press of the button how long your going to get that level of light. I also own a Arkfeld Pto, got it just for the added feature of the green laser. A very specific task orientated light. For General EDC use the EDC27 kicks the crap out of it. But as I said I like the Arkfeld for specific tasks needing a laser. Then you come to the Streamlight Wedge. Streamlight has been a poor performer for me in the past, that is why I chose the EDC27 over it. Now that I have seen your excellent testing. If I had it to do over, I might have gotten the Wedge instead of the EDC27. Thank You for these very useful videos.
That's fair, and why we put both specs % up there. The thing is, if you put the lumen number in the title/name of your product we're going to test it like how any other light that has the lumen level in their title. Hard to make exclusions for one brand or model to suit it. It's an insanely cool and well built light. The only one that feels and has features that match its price point if im honest.
Still not used to the cost for such small little lights.
As a counterpoint, I did not realize the 3000 lumen “turbo” mode had a limited time. It is in the user manual, but I don’t remember that disclaimer in the marketing. That being said, I don’t “need” 3000 lumens for anything, let alone more than 10s of 3000 lumens. Now that I know “turbo” in Nitecore-speak means “short burst”, the marketing materials make sense.
Also as a counterpoint, maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't want a flashlight with an LCD display that I have to look at to figure out how much light life it has left. Props to them for clarity, but a pass for me.
I have had an EDC knife for almost a decade, and when I saw the EDC class of flashlights come out, and being in I.T. comms closets and having to check network jacks behind furniture fairly frequently, I bought the Nitecore EDC thinking it would just be an addition to my work go bag for emergencies. I've now worn it daily for a few months on my other side pocket and can't believe how useful it's been. I always wondered if maybe I blew too much on the thing, but your review makes me feel like I made a solid choice. Thanks for the rundown!
Great video. Perhaps you can do a comparison of the best of the Wedge flashlights vs the other popular types.
I picked up the "Winter" titanium Arkfeld with laser about a year ago, it's been my goto EDC since then. Love the tail magnet and laser pointer. The new Pro with Laser and UV light looks interesting.
Love your newest testing setup.
the thing is, Streamlight lights have very good longevity.
I have a USB Protec and Stylist covered in Aerospace paint an fuel tank seal.
daily use 1-2 hours on
used for a solid 5+ years and they work without issue.
I think the slower charging speed really extends the battery lifespan.
As of last year olight flashlights have a lifetime warranty.
cool, never had to warranty a single streamlite ever.
that would mean my work would be affected without my light.
Yep, under typical use case of intermittent use over a few days to weeks, the indicator light in the switch give enough heads-up to know to charge it overnight at the end of the day. I’ve never needed mine to charge quickly and without a user-replaceable battery, slower charge rates generally leads to a longer lifespan.
I’ve been looking at all these lights because I’ve been needing a good edc light. A flashlight is a must have for everyone along with a good knife. Thank you for testing these so I can make the best purchase for me!
That Monstrum light is made by Monstrum Tactical, a company that focuses on making budget gun accessories, largely rail systems, optics, mounts, and weapon lights.
I use the the UV Arkfeld as my daily pocket light in the shop and its been great! Using in on and off in normal uses lets the battery on it last for weeks without a charge and when its low you general don't notice the 1hr charge time. The uv function works to see dye but it is a little dim when not surrounded by darkness, but works. I've been eyeing the new Pro model for its function of having all the features (flashlight, uv light, laser pointer). laser pointer is good if your performing a evap or intake smoke test. Would love to see it tested and compared to the OG arkfeld.
I’ve been using an Arkfeld for about 8 months now and it’s amazing. I’ve never timed it but I’m sure it goes at least a month of consistent daily use before it needs charged. You also didn’t mention that the magnetic charging port can be used to stick it somewhere when needed. My streamlights have been sitting in a drawer since I got the olights
I’ve been using the o light for a little less than a year and I love it! Uv, hat clip, great battery life! Magnetic is kinda annoying but a quick wipe and it’s clean again
Great review. some feedback: I'd like to see 2 categories in the overall table that would influence buying decision. The charging port style, and whether you have to hold the button down or not. Cheers and thanks for the channel
This is one of the best flashlight review videos I've seen keep it up hope to see more.
The added Stuffy -Proof test was appreciated , I expect to see some items fail this test out of the gate.
I absolutely love these comparisons. Real world useful tests.
I was comparing most of these lights back in October of last year and ended up going with the EDC27, I'm glad to see it perform fairly well in your test, makes me feel better about my choice.
The light is fantastic, and I've ended up having 3 other people buy one after seeing and trying mine.
My department issued everyone Streamlight Wedges about a year ago as backup/utility flashlights, but I honestly use mine more than the "primary" light. It's a handy little light as long as you're not expecting it to have a long throw.
I use the coast slayer at work everyday. It’s pretty much replaced my streamlight stinger. Battery lasts and it’s super useful. My main gripe is that if you’re wearing gloves the buttons are a pain in the rear to use.
I’ve been using the wedge daily at work for about a year now. Best penlight (if you can call it that) I’ve ever used. It’s survived full immersion in hydraulic oil, antifreeze, and being dropped quite a bit. I get about a week out of it before needing to charge. Thoroughly impressed.
You do very good scientific comparisons and that is appreciated by us discerning product users.
I was looking into that olight last year. Looks like a nice choice for my needs. The pro seems interesting with an added laser light for play time with the dog.
Hey TTC..off topic but thanks for the heads up on the DCK drill for 36 bucks....Got me one.... Its like a limp DCK....you can beat it at that price. Took it to work in a machine shop. to replace a ragged out snap on 14.4
Great review. Thank you.
I think a second run at a medium output mode to play fair with the Nitecore unit would have been nice to see.
They were all in a 1,000lm mode which is pretty comparable
Ive carried the wedge for a few years. Ive been in and out of cnc machines full of chips with this light clipped on the pocket at mid thigh. Never had an issue with shit getting in there. I was skeptical at first, but this is the best light ive ever owned. Using it frequently every day, it will last about a week. I bought a second mostly because of the slow charge time.
Had my Wedge for about 2 years. When I seen it online it was a dream come true. I absolutely HATE carrying a round-body light in my pocket. It’s uncomfortable. I always thought a flatter light would be nice, and there it was. $79 at MidwayUSA at the time. I carry it almost every day. Even in the waist band of sweat pants when I’ll be out at night. The pocket clip holds great and gives it a deep carry, and it basically disappears in my pocket. I love the switch, though it can get grainy when it gets some dirt on it. What I DO wish it had, though, is a lower power mode. Like 50 lumens or something. Sometimes even 300ish is too much.
Be cool to see you review long range/throw lights. Curious to see how coasts TX11R stacks up against other throw lights with theair "600m beam"
I'm the guy who keeps buying the "Okay but do you really NEED that?" ones. I love them, but I must say after having one of them literally melt a hole through a jacket after getting turned on in my pocket, sometimes, enough is the correct answer, and too much is indeed too much.
Monstrum also sells rifle scopes (very inexpensive ones) and i bought one to throw on a beater rifle not expecting much and not wanting to spend much.
And i gotta say, i did not expect to be at all impressed but i really am, it is by no means even close to high end, but the glass is nice and clear, it tracks accurately as best i can tell, and for what i wanted it to do it's absolutely up to the job.
Monstrum is in that weird category of "if you need something to just work and dont care how nice it is" you'll probably like it just fine, especially when you factor in price. If you expect "nice" you'll be constantly frustrated, but if you just need it to do its job, you can do a lot worse.
Nice review thou wish you included the surefire one as well
In the factory I work at, somehow we get a bunch of free Streamlight Microstreams, and it's like we're addicted to them now. I see some that are so abused that the anodizing wore off, and they still work (in a cool new silver patina color).
Point is though, the Microstream is immensely better suited to the up-close inspection factory use case because it doesn't have a vulnerable charging port, and it's not too BRIGHT. It's 40 lumens is about as bright as I would go; when you're looking inside bolt holes in shiny machined aluminum, it's already trying to blind you. The wedge is definitely more like a Streamlight 1L you can fit in your pocket comfortably, rather than a penlight Philosophy-of-Use. Best part is you can fit both in your pocket so you don't have to compromise!
I really like my Arkfeld. I wasn't looking for a wedge, but a laser pointer and a flashlight. But are used frequently in my job and it fits those needs. I like it quite a bit.
Great comparison guys👍 The problem I have with Nitecore is reliability. I was a dealer for them and a had 40% failure rate. I've been using Streamlight ever since.
It's just a really handy form factor. Fits into whatever pocket I want in my mechanic's overalls and doesn't get lost like the pen lights do.
Thanks for this great review! Monstrum is NOT an amazon brand. It is a brand usually making tactical optics (rifle scope etc, famous for Prism scope). They make quality scopes without breaking the bank 🎉. But looks like their flashlights are poor😂.
@TTC on the next round of Flashlight tests could you test some Neck Lamps?
I'm really curious on the _Milwaukee 2117-21 Neck Lamp,_ I've been hearing a lot about it lately and I'm curious if it's worth the hype and price tag.
Great episode as always! 👍👍
Why are all of your videos….so good
I'm a streamlight die hard, had my current Microstream for about 4 years, but I might have to have a look at that o-light pro thing. UV might be nice come A/C season.
The three best options seem like a good value. I'm going to have to look and see if Nebo makes a wedge as well.
Excellent testing! Succinct and lots of great info.
I sorta did the same thing with lock nuts. I printed ultra light knobs that took a m4 nut that I glued in. I had to superglue the screws to the bed to overcome the friction of the nuts. but haven't had any issues?
I also live in the pnw (think you've said that in the past) and print in my garage how do you dry your filament do you keep it in a dry box?
I think the Surefire Stiletto is the actual first to the "flat/wedge" style. Would love to see that one along with the Wedge XT and Arkfield Pro if there's a sequel
I’d really like to see how the surefire stiletto pro holds up compared to these type of light. Very informative video.
I love this channel. Please keep up the awesome reviews.
I like the Arkfeld, I've had (with the laser option) it for a couple months now. Better in the pocket for EDC than my 18650 light, even if it is half the lumens. The laser is nice as an HVAC inspector to point out stuff or trace piping at tall deck heights.
I appreciate the warmer color temp too, just like my milwaukee headlamp. Colors do feel truer.
I've had the NiteCore, O-light, and Wedge. I LOVE my wedge, and the NiteCore is a close second due simply to feel. I HATED the O-light because it picks up junk on the charge cable, and it doesn't hold up to abuse over time. Brake fluid, brake cleaner, oil, antifreeze, and whatever combinations of fluids are found on some peoples vehicles wreak havoc on it. The fluids and gunk get built up around the slider and then it stops acting right. My biggest complaint with the NiteCore was the buttons. They are not intuitive when under a vehicle trying to gumby your way around something. The only complaint I've had with my wedge light is the lever is harder to use when your hands are dirty.
Holy crap $80? I paid $35 for my Arkfeld a few years back. Dang Preppers jacked Olight prices up.
Great timing. I just released a buyer's guide to help folks decide between the Arkfeld, Arkfeld Pro, and Arkflex. The Arkfeld Pro has 3 light features. A black light, a laser, and of course the flash light. It's superior to the Arkfeld in every way. It's a little larger to compensate for these things but it's definitely brighter with more throw. Also the benefit to the Olight is the magnetic charger. Less prone to failure like the USB port AND it will stick to metal. The Arkflex is a lifesaver for mechanic work as it sticks to the underside of the hood and also auto body frames.
Definitely not a paid comment ad
