Excellent video, well done with the drone shots it makes for a more polished presentation 👏👏👏. What a bike! Seems worth every £25k of its price. A lot of bike for a lot of 🤑... excellent Kate and I hope you get to ride more bikes from this dealership 👍💯🙏😎😎😎😎
Have you considered top 10 videos - based on desirability, practicality and cost? I really like your videos - you keep it real without getting too carried away and your preference of one bike over another will help people like me pick their next bike. One with a £15k budget would be a great start ;-)
Just bought one myself, Identical bike with the Comp package but won't be riding it until next year when the weather improves. Looking forward to it though!
I own the same bike. There is no way worth the 10k more than a normal S1KR. It's all pub chat carbon this..... Bhp etc. . Never have I rode my normal S1kR and thought it was underpowered. Most parts they share. Other than the engine. There is slightly different suspension setting available on the MR Looks wise it's a great bike. The paint work was bad from new. Had mine ceramic coated now. Much better. Nice video and editing.
Nice vid as always Kate, i'm lucky in that my parents moved down to Harlech over twenty years ago so i get to do those roads several times a year as i travel down from Stockport, towards the end of the vid where you are passing the resi and start to climb over the mountain section after you round that long bend for me is equal to any piece of road iv'e ridden, oh and the bike looked good too.:)
Yoyu cetainly were enjoying that. BMW must be very pleased with it's products in such good hands. Too old for one of those and its way above my pocket, but certainly consider one if in a position to do so after that demo ride. Thanks :)
My local dealer got one of these last week and it took an extreme effort of willpower to leave without it 😅 My overall impression of it was that BMW Motorrad has actually delivered more than your money’s worth. I’m so glad Kate got a chance to ride and film this on UK country roads.
My M Competition arrives in mid June. I am dying to get it. Thank you for putting another review out on this. I am hearing some owners getting a wobble in the steering at higher speeds. Might need to swap out the stock steering dampner. Loving your channel Kate! Thanks for being awesome!
The wobble is really unfortunately. A youtuber called Imkay bought this and the M1000RR and he noticed the wobble as well the RR was far more stable at speed he said.
Another great vlog Kate looking good on it really suits you looking forward to seeing you on it wearing your leathers and new swanky helmet and you need a new dark visor for the summer ride safe 😂
Hi Kate. Love your reviews. What do you think of the M1000R Competition. Would it be something you would consider? I have test ridden the M1000R and loved it. Would you have the R or the RR.
Just bought one of these. Did you change any of the settings on the bike or just ride it as it came? Also did you find the carbon wheels made a whirling noise when riding?
Most modern sport bikes have plenty of power for road use, handle well and the electronics help us mere mortals control these super bikes. It would be nice to know the other end of the performance spectrum. If you’re riding with others on less powerful bikes and short shifting all day. What’s the qs like at 4k or less. Maybe some practical stuff like does it have the luggage straps under the pillion seat like past S1R. When’s the big valve check service or how easy is to fit a battery tender. Black gear looking cool but I’m an A/E nurse and if I had a pound for every biker/cyclist who came in and said they didn’t see me I’d be retired now living in the IOM. Stay safe out there.
Welcome to my backyard kate, the police speed camera capital of the UK 😡 so frustrating keeping that bmw under 60mph (40-50 mph limits on some of our best roads), maybe you edited out the really fast bits! Still a few hidden roads where you can hit triple digits without worrying but rapidly running out of these. We will all be forced to buy sinnis 125’s before long. Bmw chester great guys, super friendly service team, a good collaboration with you.
Same here, will be going for the M1KR either this year or next from a 2022 Ducati Monster+. Never driven a BMW so vbery much looking forward to demo one.
Going from my S1000R Hockenheim Silver (not even had it a year) to this competition carbon pack made me realise what I was missing, don’t get me wrong the S is an amazing machine and I loved it. The M has taken the S to a completely different machine, so much so there really is nothing to compare. If like me as I was apprehensive about loosing money on your S and forking out an extra 10k for the M just do it you won’t be disappointed.
Can I ask a weird question? Are the coloured decals surface mount or under the clear coat? I have designs on one but in just black would be my preference.
@@billstanden The tank is under clear coat not sure about the rest of the panels, it’s like they are some new kind of print on, but not anything I seen before.
Handle bars are exactly the same as the S1000R and the None Competition Package model too. They're quite sporty for a naked. I don't know if you ever rode the pre face lift S1000R but those bars were very sit up and beg compared to these new shapes.
Ok epic looking bike, amazing electronics, and from your review amazing to ride as well. This bike is 100% on my bucket list to own. I do have one question though (and this is something I struggle with on my F900R roadster) wind deflection? I find that little screen does nothing and from the sound of the wind when you were riding sounded like you were getting a bit wind battered. Would that be a far comment?
@@NeuroticLobster hop on an old 990 Superduke or a new MV Brutale 800 and your be stunned by the amazing wind defection of these naked bikes. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE BMW’s and I own one but they missed a trick with the aero wind defection.
You're comparing apples and pears bud. The angle you're coming from is entirely subjective, by that I mean it comes down to what you want from a bike - and your budget given the M1000R Comp is over TWICE the price of the RS.
If you want a bike to look at, and brag about down the pub get the BMW. If you want a bike you can't enjoy and get the best from riding on the uk roads and save a whole heap of money get the Triumph.
in my opinion all nakedbikes are useless above 80 mph due to wind noise. You can install an additional windshield on it, but it's all very ugly on such a naked bike
£20,000 for the standard is perfect for me I don't do carbon. I understand carbon wheels but carbon mudguards! Nah, Give me shiny gloss black any day. now where do I get the 20k from :)
Stunning looking bike, But a bit costly , Country roads in Wales tend to-be lovely, Go to the larger valley towns and villages, and there is potholes galore 😢 absolutely disgraceful,
I went and sat on the Ducati Streetfighter V4S and the BMW M1000R the other day and I cannot decide which bike to get. It's a difficult decision because I have to install an electronic shifter on my bikes because my left foot doesn't work. This makes test rides impossible unfortunately. What's your opinion between these two hyper nakeds?
I have test ridden both and found the BMW very revvy and vibes, but the heat transfer from the V4 in the SF was too much for me, stuck in city traffic. I'd go for the BMW and some bar ends
@@divegh9793 Thank you for the feedback. This would be a 2nd bike for me, I already have a 2022 Honda Africa Twin that I take when commuting and longer rides. Performance and tech wise the bikes are equals but the BMW M1000R Competition comes with so many dress up extras, I'd have another $10k in the Ducati to have carbon wheel and all the other goodies.

Interesting comment about the vibration. I had a 90 minute test ride on the M1000R the other day, and 10 miles of dual carriageway at 70mph was enough to make my hands go numb. The buzz through the bars was awful! Are they all like that I wonder?

Kate speaking of tickets/jail has your last name prevented you from getting a ticket, when I was a teen a few times the police knew my officer dad and told me to slow down instead of giving me a ticket.
Haha no, I got pulled for speeding in my car many years ago, told him my dad was gonna be disappointed as he was ex traffic cop and its like he took PLEASURE in giving me a ticket hahaha.
It's a work of art but have you seen the video showing terrible instability at speeds of over 130 MPH ? Not as terrifying as a badly mounted fairing that once caused me a lock to lock speed wobble at 120, but that Yamaha wasn't 24 grand !
While Ducatis are getting much better looking with every new model introduction, BMWs are getting uglier! No creativity at all! What do they do in Berlin all day long? Slapping huge wings to make the bike not fly? Or, having M letter on every panel of the bike to make sure that it’s M so we won’t make a mistake?
