I love everything you guys put out, from BBB to bike reviews and everything between. but something about you just bantering and putting around town with no real planned topics is always so enjoyable to watch.
I've just spent a week in Belgium and Germany. I couldn't agree more with your comments about the collapse of this country. It was pure hedonism driving on roads in the first world for a change, where police forces oddly prioritise crime over speeding... and councils don't allow potholes to exist.
Once you travel you realise that Britain is used by rich people to avoid taxes and to secure their wealth. They don't care about the roads or anything else because they just hop in a private jet and go to nicely run countries.
@paulcartwright7228 many german roads as you will probably be aware don't have pesky speed limits. You're treated as an adult to decide what's appropriate in the circumstances...

Well why aren't you dead cos that sucker is doing 600 mph. The laughter went on for a full minute. He had a quiet "word" with me at the break. Any more of that an you will be off the course and get a conviction and points. My friend who was also on the course told me to "play the game" "it is all about money and control" He is right. Bad driving kills not speed itself. It is also dangerous being gobby - that could cost ya points!
There's a politician in Ireland trying to make it legal to drink drive locally if you live in the countryside. Some pub owners have bought minibuses to pick up customers and drop them home at closing.

BBB Was much more fun when they did it with capable bikes (BBB italia or benidorm) now it's more of a circle jerk with the boys. I wish they went back to the old format.
On the topic of road rules 20:20, why not have a two-tiered licence system like “Standard” and “Advanced”. If you’re Advanced you can drive at any speed on national roads and motorways, but you can lose the advanced accreditation by doing silly or illegal things and are then demoted for 1 year. Additionally, insurers would likely offer lower premiums for Advanced drivers/riders. Or maybe be mandated to do so. Obviously it would require additional training, which is where drivers/riders are thought common sense driving skills, like use your accelerator when entering a fast moving motorway; right most lanes are for overtaking only; position yourself extreme right if taking a right turn to allow traffic flow on your left; accelerate when overtaking and reduce acceleration/speed when being overtaken; be ready when lights turn green (minimal gaps); day time running lights are NOT a replacement for headlights at night; if taking the next exit off the motorway get in lane on time (not last minute thereby holding everyone else up); advanced understanding of blind spots and use of mirrors; acceleration sense (accelerate away from hazards and let off the accelerator sooner to buy time to weigh up scenarios); and so on!!
I live in SW London right now and Newlands Corner has been my go to when I have an hour or so for a quick spin. So utterly depressing that it's now average speeded, it not only means you can't push on but also that you're constantly looking down to make sure your speed doesn't creep over 40 so you can't actually enjoy the roads at all. Fun.
For about $ 8k-$9k US dollars you can still find great, low mileage '18-21 mt10's over here. I found my '18 a couple of summers back, 1k mi on it and I got it for $9400. The guy hated the gas mileage. I put a Yoshimura 3/4 decat system on it and had the ecu flashed accordingly. You've got yourself a 150whp machine that brings a 💩 eating grin every time you ride it. Aside from 23-25mpg, there's NO better bang for the buck. Put a comfort seat on it and it's all day long comfortable. The only problem is, you have to stop every hundred miles for gas😅🤣.
Still rather pay a bit more for a superduke than any MT. Those are for types that want more affordable stuff and if that's you then cool. But I prefer the best of the best.
Just took a look at the new EVO at my dealer yesterday. There are indeed quite a lot of updates, to say nothing of the improvements in electronics and third gen electronic suspension. What a bike!

The new Super Duke is like the pub munter. First of all, you and your mates are pointing at it and saying look how wide that is. But later on when you’re riding it, you don’t notice how wide it is.
Hey that’s my old area too being an Aldershot boy, I used to rag my bikes around those lanes too. Namely my Rd, TDR, FZR, NC30, TL’S, etc. Then I moved to Canada in 2000. There’s no good corners in Ontario really at least not close to me, so a 2005 Bandit 1200s now with Scorpion can and Ohlins rear. Good enough for the few decent corners I can find and easy maintenance and cheap to run and insure. Insurance is crazy here in Ontario when half the year you can’t ride due to snow and freezing rain, not to mention well into the minus temps. Haven’t even got the bike on road this year yet as it just about gets warm enough to melt all the snow on the road and then we get a freak snowstorm that buggers it all up again.
The super duke has always been one of my favorite bikes, especially with that wide band power of a twin. This year i finally reached the point where i can buy an expensive bike, but i was totally seduced by the m1000r competition. Picking it up in 2 weeks. Hope i made the right choice!
@LifebyDesign No regrets with the M1000R, especially with KTM and Pierer Mobility in free fall financially. The BMW does it all. Smooth, easy power, totally refined when you want it to be, and a total monster when you flog it. The flat spots in second and third gear suck for us in north America, but I'm going to BT Tune it next year. Zero regrets with the bike so far. Zero oil consumption or other issues as well. The competition model also looks utterly amazing in person. Only thing is I wish I had the RR.
I will say, the only thing I notice is a bit of wobble in the front end, consistent with what other people report. It comes on around 230km/h or up. Tightened the dampener and solved about 90 percent of it.

Conclusions of the video for me : That 1390 doesn’t look any better that my spd 1290r that I got last October fully unlock with 4 years warranty for £12k + 2.5k of upgrades including the Akra full system and loads of extras so 20k for this just basic no way . Looking those roads you riding those bikes make me feel extremely lucky with the amazing roads we have in the north east just last Easter Sunday I make in one day 230 miles in a loop enjoying hardsite pass penines, kilder and Scottish boarder to Jedburgh and returning home to Newcastle I have complete 3k miles on my superduke 1290 just in October when I bought it and couple of weeks ago that I restart riding it with 0 issues I love this bike and I really hope stay like this as I ride a lot . That’s BMW is really sexy however the fun you get from any superduke is priceless as long you riding it in the correct place . The 1390 I think is a perfect upgrade for someone coming from the 900cc group but never for someone who is in the super naked group right now .
Chris's ideal, the limit being whatever isn't dangerous, is the law in Texas. The Transp. code S 545.351: "MAXIMUM SPEED REQUIREMENT. . . . a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the circumstances then existing." There are posted limits but those are only "prima facie" evidence subject to contrary evidence of the specific circumstances.
Love all your videos and just listening to the 2 of you gents talk bikes. I've also had enough of staring at those sexy ass RST gloves, I need to find a way to get myself some over here in Canada!
You wouldn't hear the bad stuff if KTM was really supportive when issues occurred (any bike can have issues, no matter the brand). They kept my brand 2022 SAS almost one year in service until the fixed it. After the 3rd failed intervention (and less than 1500 miles on the clock) I asked for a new bike or at least extended warranty. Bot KTM and dealership ignored my calls/emails and unfortunately the laws in my country did not support my cause at all. I would have continued buying KTMs, if KTM would just support me, but I don't have the nerves to risk it again on another bike from this company.@@FortyFourTeeth
@user-rh1zg6bc1n And electronic issues and bad flywheels and clutch leaking and pulling right or left issues and wobbling issues.... or was I that unlucky ??

I wish I can put KTM's performance in a different looking bike. I'm one of those that cannot get used to their looks even after almost a decade of riding. That being said, 1290 duke was one of the most fun bikes I've ridden. Excited to see what 1390 has to offer.

That 1390 doesn’t look any better that my spd 1290r that I got last October fully unlock with 4 years warranty for £12k + 2.5k of upgrades including the Akra full system and loads of extras so 20k for this just basic no way .
Looking those roads you riding those bikes make me feel extremely lucky with the amazing roads we have in the north east just last Easter Sunday I make in one day 230 miles in a loop enjoying hardsite pass penines, kilder and Scottish boarder to Jedburgh and returning home to Newcastle
I have complete 3k miles on my superduke 1290 just in October when I bought it and couple of weeks ago that I restart riding it with 0 issues I love this bike and I really hope stay like this as I ride a lot .
That’s BMW is really sexy however the fun you get from any superduke is priceless as long you riding it in the correct place .
The 1390 I think is a perfect upgrade for someone coming from the 900cc group but never for someone who is in the super naked group right now .
Keep the KTM 1390 videos coming, I'm lovin it! But you shouldn't feel like you have to keep your language so clean next time
Chris's ideal, the limit being whatever isn't dangerous, is the law in Texas. The Transp. code S 545.351: "MAXIMUM SPEED REQUIREMENT. . . . a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the circumstances then existing." There are posted limits but those are only "prima facie" evidence subject to contrary evidence of the specific circumstances.
I'd happily give Texas a look. Sounds like a very common sense approach.
Love all your videos and just listening to the 2 of you gents talk bikes. I've also had enough of staring at those sexy ass RST gloves, I need to find a way to get myself some over here in Canada!
Liked this thanks. One thing missed is a real test of the suspension settings of the KTM because it can become sportier.
It is 2nd of April in Southern (!) Sweden and it has started to snow again.....
Forecast is -13 C for tonight in Finland. Will be a month or more before I can go get my bike out.
Det är så jävla segt. Var sol och 12 grader för mig i söndags. Minus hela veckan hittills efter det…
Those bright KTM lights... they're great, but I do constantly get flashed by oncoming cars who think I have my main beam on.
Personally with the state the roads are these days I wouldn’t go for either sadly … that beemer looks like a fun track day bike though
Have a Gen 3, SD, and it's a very reliable bike, hasn't skipped a beat!!
You only ever hear the bad shit
That lc8 engine is bulletproof
@@eriklarsson3528Just leaking oil an coolant😂
Had a 1290SDR but the ergos dont suit my short stature, so sold that on. I'd go for a Tuono next personally. If i wanted an inline-four I'd go Japanese and save some money.
Any plans for next BBB? Would love to see some supersports or perhaps 400s
It’s almost riding up my arse 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you guys kill me off
I wish I can put KTM's performance in a different looking bike. I'm one of those that cannot get used to their looks even after almost a decade of riding. That being said, 1290 duke was one of the most fun bikes I've ridden. Excited to see what 1390 has to offer.
I laughed the whole way through. And by the sound of things it’s the ktm for me. Torque , and road comfort.
Seriously want 1390 GT.
I've been to the mill many times. Lovely pub
Heated Grips swung the pendulum in the right direction on that cold day
I’m a little star struck that you boys have been around my area and to the spots I go to……surprised you didn’t visit box hill and Ryka’s new look burger joint.
This is battle of the poor reputations. KTM as the least reliable manufacturer and the M1000 that loves to punch holes in its block.
True
So cynical
@@morry27jd24 Feel free to buy one and become another statistic.
the M1000R has ths S1000RR engine, not the M1000RR engine.
Both too expensive for the poorer but more talented rider
Chris - that double bump which caught you out after Elstead 😂 I knew it was coming and would catch you out on that big stiffy BMW !!
For that reason alone it’s the KTM for me 😊
Hoping for end of the season battle of the super naked. Building a track purpose M1000r. My long time race number is 44. In Korea 44 is number of double death. Scare the competition more. Lol
Apologies but what Comms are you boys using & any buying advice? Cheers Dan
What are the dealer networks in comparison to each other?
Is the brake reservoir lid properly tight on the KTM? Looks like moving on its own. Please check.
If all the roads in the erea, are restricted, then why do the test in ty hat area?
My 2022 Indian FTR has a touch screen and you don't have to wear any special glove for it to work. If Indian can do it, any manufacturer can. It's a matter of choice at this point and those manufacturers are choosing not to.
How the F@&K did people let Surrey County council get away with lowering every 60 limit in the entire north of the county to 40 or less. Absolutely f#&king ridiculous. Makes a complete mockery of speed limits. Why are we as road users, so f&£king supine and put up with this nonsense? It’s about time we started saying NO, it’s NOT OK. We’re not going to just lie down and take it.😡😡😡
Top top Video lads ! Lovin the Tilford Massif lol 😆 live local to Frensham myself & ditto love these roads / routes but my god the huge trench potholes are just ridiculous! Ex Rodbourgh Pupil here ! You ? Hope to see you on the local roads sometime. Dan
