Its probably better and more capable, but the one I have now already is really capable. Add to that the horrible front end in my view, I think I'm good for now :)
Soooo many people don't understand this... And it shows how psychologically twisted people are... KTM has the hardware in the bike because it's used for OTHER electronics, they simply make extra software to maximise what the hardware can do, it's in the exact same vein as how phone manufacturers make your phone "better" and do more with existing hardware via software updates... Just for reference honda charges 750 quid for their quick shifter on the CB1000R and 600 quid on the Africa Twin, is that Okay?? you're paying £750 for a £2 switch but because the switch wasn't already on the bike (but the plug in the wiring harness IS) it's all of a sudden okay? Come off it.. It's a dirt cheap bike for what it is and for a single grand you can make it the best value in the category...
@@Jaded-Wanderer Idk, at the end of the day you pay the same as with any other manufacturer, but you have the option to only get what you want and the process of unlocking them is also much less painful than 3hrs labour for honda to take apart your bike so they can connect that 1 plug under the tank..
@@Jaded-Wanderer KTM fucked up the marketing for it but the hate it's getting is entirely undeserved... I got a 2020 1290 GT, and I was very glad that when I wanted the track pack for adjustable wheelie control, slip control, launch control, throttle modes, I could simply ride to KTM, plug it in for 30 mins pay my 300 odd quid and ride away... I don't need Hill hold for 150 or the MSR for 180, already had the quick shifter on the bike, so at the end of the day didn't even need to pay for the full tech pack. I'd rather that than what BMW does, with the non-TE vs TE versions, where even if you change your mind in the future your bike is already locked in. I used to have a 2015 BMW S1000XR that didn't come with the factory DRL but came with everything else fully loaded. I wanted the DRL, asked BMW what's the cost... Well it's 280 for the DRL, 80 for software update to enable it, 160 for new switch gear because the button for it isn't there on mine, and that's "if we can do it still as it's an older bike" No such problems with a KTM with all the hardware already present....

When it’s hardware, you understand that there’s higher cost of offering uprated items so are more willing to pay, even if the OEM earns more of a margin on the premium bits.
Don’t be surprised if in 10 years the Chinese manufacturers catch up and start offering the sun, moon and the stars, forcing the rest to step up.
1290 gen 3 all day baby . Full carbon and Akra of course .
I’ll never buy a Ktm for 2 reasons. They stuff Ewan and Charlie and now they are jumping on the pay per play on a motorcycle?? wtf. The adventure bikes have all the stuff fitted but they won’t let you use it unless you pay for it, nahhh
I loved my V4S but agree entirely about a super naked being useless if you want to actually go anywhere. I went back to an adventure bike because of it.
Evo or non-Evo? Not sure whether the electronic suspension is worth the extra $?
£20k for a motor bike ! I'm getting old............
Can’t wait to see the deep dive into this one.
"Annoying" Understatement. I'm a "function" guy and I love the Duke from a function standpoint, but I still like walking into my garage seeing my bikes and thinking "Wow!" Which I do every time I see my Monster and my Harley sitting next to each other. Neither are ORANGE. Not a fan of the mandibles either.
That headlight looks like a proper insect, dead fly trap
Would genuinely like it if ktm had some more colorways
Totally agree about the limited color schemes. I HATE orange. An all black scheme? Sign me up.
Aren’t you a boring person 🥱
Such a polished video . KTM sponsored by any chance 😂
I like the look of the bike ... except the headlight
I actually like the new front light design, but I'd get the running lights changed from white to pink 😅
My takeaway -satsuma powered rocket. Thunder Punk with mandibles(cos play).Tech pack 1k joke /sick.Great chat chaps.PS nothing to do with the review but MM93 up to his old tricks?
Do a comparison of this bike and a street fighter v4
Kinda looks like a fancy mounting bracket for a missing headlight.
Hotter than the earth's core 🔥🔥🔥
KTM = keeps taking money.
Ugly bikes, that are about as reliable as that one crackhead friend everyone has.
"the zoom zoom" LOVE IT
went out on my gen3 yesterday, wont be upgrading, its not like ive ever thought to myself 'you know what,i could with some more power and torque!'apart from the headlight and wings its identical, and 99% of current owners cant outride the damn things as it is!saying that,if i didnt have a bike,i would buy it.
Totally agree, I was out on mine a few weeks ago and through the same thing but more. I’ve got the standard version but have upgraded the suspension and more and feel the bike is 99% dialed in. How could I want more It’s perfect right now. Maybe in a year or two when the bike starts to get dated.
@@RobertKehl thing is,these manufacturers have got to find new ways to get into your wallet.always being told last years offering is dogshit now,and you need the new one which is 15% more likely to make knickers come down!
Side by side comparison with the new 990 please. Any info on the 2025 990 Evo R edition greatly appreciated.
Not! Maybe nice for Instagrama gen of buyers, but would NEVER see me near one alive. V2 was the the sweet spot , regarding design.
Anyone else wanna see one of these with RC8R style clip ons and top half of the fairing like the old Duc 900ss CR
Maybe soon we will have smaller CC boosted motors
I regret selling my gen 1.. my gen 3 would shake and shutter around 120 mph shifting when i was on it. It was like it was just too much power for tubular frame.. maybe that power needs a monococ frame
Whew, that headlight.
