      just wait till you ride the bike and see them from the rider position, they look even weirder. rode one this weekend. But BMW says it helps with downforce at certain speeds so i'm not going to argue with them 😅

    • @stevecade857
      @stevecade857 Год назад

      @@patrickspapens5497 Ahh yes, helps with downforce at silly speeds on a naked bike tailored for road use rather than its sport bike track tool brother. That makes so much sense. Probably made from CF so is nice and expensive to replace if the bike has a little lie down more like.

    • @patrickspapens5497
      @patrickspapens5497 Год назад +1

      @@stevecade857 well it has a dedicated track rider mode and even one for slicks. Nakeds can be ridden on track quite well actually. But most track or speed oriented bikes these days have either winglets or aero designed for downforce so i don't really get your point. It's supply and demand. People want what the pros are riding in the SBK and MotoGP, so that's what they deliver. The RSV4 and TuonoV4 factory I've ridden also had aero on them. Nowadays it's not always about functionality, if something looks cool people want it. How many ricers and car tuners ride around with massive wings, spoilers and bumper kits just to park their car at a meet and do some useless reving in the parking lot. Same thing.

      Although most of these liter sport bikes you wont get a much over 100 miles if you are on the gas and thats only if you can stand a low fuel light . My Tracer 9gt easily gets 50mpg if I am just touring but in the twisties it plunges to a little over 30mpg and it is just low powered 900 in comparison ....I really think manufacturers need to put at least 5 gallon tanks on all liter class sport bikes They just wont cause they are in this spec war and another gallon adds several more pounds and maybe makes the bike look porkier depending on how they do it....Just saying the advertised ranges are a crock if anyone is playing constantly on their bike ....and I mean who isnt playin on these bikes? How does one not?

    Also I’m the same as you with that last comment in the vid… can I actually behave my self and handle my self on such a big aggressive bike to weather I go buy it or not which is a super sensible thing to do even if we are hooligans 😂😂🤙🤙

    207hp. Riding on the roads if you don't lose your license in the first hour you could lose your life it's so fast.
    I test rode a 2019 S1000R and I had to stop and get off after 15 minutes because I found the buzz from the bars was so bad and through the foot pegs and the tank. No way I could ride one all day let alone even for a couple of hours. So I test rode a SDR 3.0 which I loved and then a Speed Triple 1200RS. Bought the Speedie as felt the SDR was just too mental for the roads whereas the Speed Triple RS felt lighter and a lot easier to turn and live with. Still love the 1290 SDR though. It had vibes but vibes you class as character not the annoying vibes you get from this BMW engine. Have ridden other in-line 4 engines and they have all been buttery smooth and vibe free. Don't know if BMW use balancer shafts in their engines or not? It might make their engines a little heavier, but worth it to make them a lot smoother and vibe free.
    But £20k for a bike that suffers from serious vibes and buzz is a deal breaker for me. Ridiculous. Don't care how fast or good it is. Pointless if they are so intrusive that they become uncomfortable or give medical conditions. BMW needs to up it's game.

      @screemin187 Год назад +1

      @@Cartsp70 Hi Paul, I'm on the H2SX. You mean the ZH2? I personally found the ZH2 too firm whereas the SX version is a great all rounder, although you'll pay about 5k more for it. I'm tall and I felt like I was sitting perched on top of the naked bike. I feel comfortable on the faired bike (SX - SX/SE) and I really love everything it has to offer. Tons of power, but equally tons of touring and every day riding capability. Definitely test ride both before committing as I'm in my 50s now and have different wants from a bike as opposed to say even 10 years ago

    • @Cartsp70
      @Cartsp70 Год назад +1

      @@screemin187 Yes that’s the one the ZH2 ( not the crazy 25K one ) the normal H2 without the fairing) The M1000 and H2 second hand are both around 16/17K price points but I’m thinking the M1000 will be too ott for the road , The H2 seems like a better road bike, I sat on one in the showroom it’s actually quite a dinky little bike but quite comfy, I definitely need to test ride it , the Supercharger sounds amazing too

    Hi Chops from New Zealand. Love the content mate. I'm about to buy a sports naked bike again and this is something i'm considering. The question i have is would you buy this over a Tuono or the KTM 1290? Different bikes i know. I had an S1000R and it was a bit to tame, great bike though.

    • @richardkillian5657

      I had the same dilemma recently, there are so many strong contenders in this category. I ended up going for the Tuono Factory and have no regrets, it's even better now that I've got the Akrapovich exhaust and the Aprilia race map (which gets rid of the horrible EU eco mapping). With the incredible sound of the Italian V4 now unleashed it's hard to imagine a bike that's more exciting, every time I take it out for a ride it's an occasion. Saying that, this M1000rr looks incredible and I really want to take one out for a test ride...

  • @barryc710

    Love the looks, an amazing piece of engineering. However these bike are getting ridiculous for the road now. I’m gutted to be selling my V4 Tuono because like the bmw it eggs you on all the time. After 10k miles and 3 years of ownership I feel like I’ve survived and gotten away with my license and life. Best bike I’ve ever owned or ridden… being on the back wheel at 3 figure speeds has been amazing but it’s time to calm things down, I’m probably just getting too old 😆 Great review as always though chops 👍🏻

      Ducati feels quicker 1st and 2nd gears as it puts it all down, Ducati much more comfortable with more compliant suspension. Doesn't handle like this obviously

    Hi, what tyres would you use if you were to replace? I have one of these bikes and coming up to 7k miles and the rear is getting low! Ideally I would like the Road 6 but they're not available in this size so was thinking the Power 5 or 6. Do you have experience with these Michelin's and if so, how did you find them?
