He’s a riot, absolute natural at this vlogging business. It’s like he came out of his moms womb with a GoPro strapped to his little head. Good review thanks a bunch👏
Great video. Bike is “meh”. All bikes are great on spec sheets today, but it’s the bike that gets your heart pumping and looks like sex on wheels that’ll be exciting.
@@ilmostro16 so true
Haha very true. What a legend!
@@ilmostro16This is one of the best looking bikes.
It's great to see The Barron having fun and happy! I have a 2019 S1kR and it has more performance than I need with my middling riding skills. Nevertheless, human nature being what it is, I feel like I need the M!
You definitely need the M.
POWER!
Same! I’ve had my 2020 and rarely take it out of road mode. But I NEED the M 😊
@@Motorelief_mike - I know the feeling. What's great about the R is that below 8,000 RPM is an easy motorcycle to ride. Up top is a different experience.
@@JohnJay1745 The R is my first sport bike. At 55 I figured WTF< I'll give it a go. (I have 6 bikes and rode 33k miles last year, so not a new rider). I need to get some proper training to get the full benefit from the S1R... but can't lie... the draw of the M1R is strong... that black is sexy AF!
Those track laps were indeed a big let down. What a bummer to be out there and not able to haul ass.
Great review, Chris!
This is why the Tuono is so good, the powur and torque is so much lower in the rev range so you can use it more often. Also it's way cheaper.
Who’d have thought an Aprilia would be cheaper!
True, but the Tuono is a previous generation to these newest chassis. It’s pretty heavy in comparison. Not that big of a deal on the street, but the newest BMW’s tech and power is unreal.
@@Showmetheevidence- Aprilia has always been really competitive with their pricing idk where you got that impression from
@@adamniswonger8015 I think calling the tuono pretty heavy is quite a stretch, yes it's 10kg more than the bmw but tbh if you've ever ridden one you'd be aware how incredibly nimble the v4s are, they just feel like 600s
And the SD-R Evo.. its a torque king
How do you NOT have over 1m subscribers? Even with the BMW megabung you get for reviewing it, this is still comedy gold! Great vid Chris!
“A tornado shitting in a little bathroom” love this dude 😂😂
8:51 you hit the nail on the head right there “we are not even tickling the upper rev range” while it may be smooth all through the rev range as a road bike you cannot get the most from this bike without breaking speed limits, so i would ask is it a good road bike ? when to really get the most from it you need to take it to a track. You would probably have more smiles per miles on a 600 or 900cc bike thats around 120 to 150BHP than mental 210BHP
Growing up is realising "slower" cars and bikes are more fun. As in being able to get the full potential out of a vehicle without dying or being completely silly.
130-150 twin, parallel for street....inline 4s while great for racing and tracks just don't really have a place on streets....have 890 R and wish it had just a bit more.....don't need anything close to 200 hp although would like to try a SD 1290 one day....
I think you summed up the bike nicely, difficult to fall in love with. Had a S1000R from new a couple of years ago, VERY capable bike, quick, great handling etc but zero personality (whatever that is). Only kept it for 14 months and sold it, just could not connect with it. Ended up buying an old XJR1300, spent money on that and feel in love. Old school but at least I feel connected to it.
I echo that experience 100%. Got a Tuono now…
Same, too. Felt it had less personality than the double r
Couldn’t disagree more
You are absolutely living the dream man.. Hope you get to continue this for many years!!
Been waiting for the 44 teeth take on this one for well over a month, totally understand why with the BBB thing, but finally, three cheers for your verdict
which do your prefer, M1000 R or SFV4 ?
I was hoping you would ask the organisers to let you have a couple of laps around the circuit to open it up. I am sure you will get one on the track at some point. Enjoyed the vid, thanks.
Your helmet & suit combo is insane.. can you imagine how good the Gresini bike would look if you were in charge?
I wish BVG was a design house.
Nice review by the way.
i wish that too! One day maybe....
Does it still have the buzzy handlebars?
I love this channel so much. The comedy within the video is just sublimez
Superb chris, especially through the middle section on the twisted behind northover ? Actually would have the desired effect of making me go buy one if it was in my budget. That road, that bike, those mates, that was biking freedom in one small clip. Brilliant.
Can't wait to see the clip you sold Chad on his review.
Would be very interesting to see comparison with Streetfighter v4s
I'm glad you blasted them about the slow laps, the people out there are suppose to be professionals. Why are they treating everyone like children?
Cuz professionals can still crash and they want to protect the bikes?!?! ... big Corporations don't like just throwing money away..
@@bmorisquati It's definitely Health and Safety rather than a cost/crash issue.
The RR motor seems like it would have been a better fit in the XR vs the R, at least you have wind protection
You're great, love all the wonderfully entertaining and informative videos, but what is going on with the up-down-left-right camera? Is it on some auto-gimbal?
Can it "target" the motorcycle in front of you? Maybe that will keep it more steady.
Great video as always!
S 1000 R will do it for most people. With how it's priced in the U.S. there is less than $300 between this and an optioned S 1000 R so no reason not to get the M unless you are buying one to track and will mod it heavily.
Great video man, love seeing you out having fun! Big fan here in New Hampshire!
hey chris,
are the wheelies in the movie with or without wheelie control?
Greetings from Heidelberg
Great video. I’m about to grab a Streetfighter V4SP and I’ll admit I’m torn as I’d almost like to wait to see this. Have you an opinion on one Vs. the other (would be looking at the M Comp)?
If you enjoy riding your bike, as opposed to working on it (or, more likely, having it at the shop being worked on or waiting for parts) I'd suggest the M1000R.
@@pedronogueira8148yes get the M with the competition package you won’t regret it and you will forget about Ducatis and Tuonos thank me later
Cheers
Chris!
Your dear friend Greta (who you talk about a lot). Her surname, it's "Thunberg" like "tuna", not "Thornberg". Thought you wanted to be able to pronounce her name correctly😄
Greetings from Sweden🇸🇪👋🏻And thank you for the best RUclips channel ever💪
I find it really interesting how much men feel the need to bring GT in totally unrelated debates. Pretty low level, to be honest.
@@dlicen Did you just assume someone's gender? Or did you mean generally?
It looks "wheelie" good!
I just face palmed 😂
@@Murr_5924 🤦♂
I hope there is a tst kit to deal with crappy rear indicators.
BMW drags you to Almeria and you are not allowed to pull the trigger? wtf why?
What a bike!! Can't wait to get mine. Great video buddy
Thanks a million for the review, I was frustrated for you. Can we put the Tuono engine and exhaust into the M1KR please BMW? 😊
Which bike do you think is better between the bmw m1000r and the 2024 Ducati street fighter v4s
BMW doesn’t disappoint I wanted to experience in my later years of riding full technology and rider aids at 67 I feel confident with traffic today lighting on this bike is incredible high beam flash is serious my BMW S1000XR is perfect in every way.
I don't think you should bother testing the next bimmers if they don't let you actually ride them
Unfortunately, while S1000R might be a great bike and all that, it has become way too anonymous unlike the previous assymetric headlight design which was very much a unique standout feature!
Compared to this, I like the way the Speed Triple 1200 RS looks since it stands out with modern variants of its Triumph Bug Eyes headlights with angry eyebrows...
What were you getting to the gallon riding mostly in 2nd gear? I assume you know it has six gears?
@44teeth can I have you advice? I’ve put my money down on the s1000rr (2023) but I have trouble with seat to peg height. I’m 6,4..Can t find any rear sets that lower most raise for some reason. I was looking at the naked version but not on show in south west until April. The question is seat to peg height different on the naked to the s1000. Thanks
I believe they are the same. You're best off looking for a taller seat. Or buy a GS Adventure 😂
@@FortyFourTeeth yea a taller might work, I believe they’ve actually made 3 different heights. Definitely not a GS fan at any stage of my life thank you..😂.
rearsets that move up and back can help. make sure they move A LOT back.
@@doubdoesntknow thank you. I’m trying to find out if the frame on the 23 is the same as 22/21 that way I’ve more options on sets I can buy. There asking £1250 for the M rear sets that come on the white m sport..😂. Others are only adjustable up or back 5mil. No good.
I'm not as tall as you - I'm 6'2" - but I've spent a decent bit of time on a 2021 S1000RR with the taller seat, and it made a massive difference for me (and for my dad, who's the same height). The bike feels infinitely better to me with the taller seat; in my opinion, it's definitely worth getting, and will make the riding experience much more pleasant for you. If i remember correctly, the taller seat is an inch higher than the standard seat
It’s like BMW saying to Chris Harris here’s our new M3 to test but you have to leave the handbrake on.
😟 Does the standard version allow you to adjust the traction on the go? I loved that feature on the gen3 RR
kinda: the dynamic and dynamic pro modes let you set anything you like to 4 different levels so it'll go rain, road, dynamic, dynamic pro and you can. Think configurable presets instead of just a thing to mess with traction control on the fly.
Please stop making negative comments about keyless bikes. In the real world the majority don’t wear a bright onesie and most of us have pockets and enjoy the advantage’s of keyless.
Hi, nice report. Did your wheelie colleague do the wheelies with the wheelie control?
What is the holographic thing in upper left of TFT? It's driving me crazy? looks like a beer mug and says Bavaria
Can't say I'd look back at it.
I wish Arai would release the sweet graphics that you guys get over there here in the states.
Seem like the left plenty of room to cut the bars and move the controls in . Good traffic spliting bike . I get one for nothing with pretzel front end.
Wings as fairing, that's the spirit!
Can you feel the torque difference between the M1KR and the S1KR? or would it need to be a back to back test?
There is none. The M only has more power above 10k rpms... So unless you explore high revs regularly, better to save some cash for a second bike or trackdays etc.
Damnit 44.. you really make watching someone ride a motorcycle so nice with your commentary.
I have one on deposit with BMW of Burbank. Hopefully it'll be here before April in L.A. Selling my Streetfighter V4S for this, which has a lot of issues. Ducati, great when they work, and when they don't...
Jeez. If you think that a BMW is going to be any better reliability wise then you haven’t done your homework.
@@jockojockoson9995 I don't know bro, my 2021 S1000RR has been flawless so far with 20+ track days and couple thousand miles canyon riding.A lot of my Ducati owner's club friends have had similar gremlins. But maybe I don't have all the data. Can you send me a link with BMW issues?
Same. Supposed to get mine in April after a slew of Ducatis, all of which have been cruel mistresses. You getting any better intel than I am on deliveries?
@@motosagelamy friend is service manager at a big dealership and he strongly advocated for me to go M1KR over V4S - German engineered, less expensive parts, more accessible for work. I love my Ducatis to death but fuck I’ve had one issue after another
Great review. I actually like the standard bike master cyclinder. It's tidy. I don't see why I need a huge plastic container floating in the wind and sticking out like a sore thumb. I agree, for most people the standard bike is ample. I personally find it a much better, more fun bike, than the '22 Tuono I traded it for! Maybe I'm just an inline four guy.
When is bbb out?

Knee down neville was rather entertaining 😂 would love one!
And yet I found myself drooling over the M-liveried C4

Damn 2 days in a row
Dinners not gonna be boring 😎😂
Soooo get a Tuono V4 instead?
would love to ride a 250 2 stroke on those lanes
Any make/model you’d prefer as just saying 250 2-stroke covers a significant amount of bikes with different purposes. For me, only one choice. The last of the Suzuki RGV-250’s. A 2-Stoke V-twin singing nicely.
@@marcusgeorge1825 It does, RGV/RS250 for a road bike but would pick this if any ruclips.net/video/j7L5Pi80y8Q/видео.html
I'd like a 890 Duke R or 690 SMCR on those lanes. I'll be there on a Tracer GT in a few months hoping it will be some fun still.
I really want this bike. Coming from a 1st Gen S1000rr.
Do you know when the launch for the new Street Triple is? Trying hard to get a build slot for Moto2 but would like to know if I'm wasting my time hahahaha
I just don’t understand hypernakeds. They’re for the street, but insanely fast, but if you go fast your getting pushed off your seat. Do they have the fun factor like a MT09? This bike seems so serious I don’t know why you’d have it over the 1000RR IMO
Does it have a space for a double decker?
Idk man i feel like a full blown superbike engine in a naked platform sounds really cool on paper but in reality, why? 165hp is still VERY fucking fast on the base s1000r and if you really want that extra power and bling and you're gonna take to track then just fucking get the RR because its better for that sort of thing? just my 2c
totally correct, bmw have done this purely for HP figures and willy wavers to compete with other super nakeds which are now 200hp, makes no sense for a road bike and if tracks your thing why get the R anyway, i have the gen 3 R and not tempted by the M whatsoever, it would be an RR for me if i were to change it.
Great review, its very very good at everything, but still short on character.
Also a bummer to not let you thrash the beemer on track.
what place is this ?
I like the idea of buying one… but then I go for a ride on my R1250GSA … and I remember how comfy it is to ride.
I think you guys were riding a bit too fast on the roads around Almeria
When are these coming out? 2024?
How’s this bike compared to KTM SDR EVO?
I had an M5 and I think it looks just like what I would want my current bike to be, mental and reassuring. It was avery informative video but I wouldn't hesitate to have one.
Interestingly, although its clearly very good, it sounds like the exact reason why I sold my 2018 model. It was so good that it was actually a bit boring, engineered so well to the point that it lacked a bit of soul and character as a result. Just didn't have that rider involvement / engagement that gets under your skin.
Test ride a Hypermotard. I bought one off the back of Statham's review and it's been a mental time ever since. I'm so glad I bought it instead of the Streetfighter. It gets all the attention, but the hyper is a fantastic road bike that never gets boring at the speeds my old self now wants to ride at. Be warned though, the character is very much coked up toddler.
It's crazy that the bike is so good, one of the main criticisms that I hear is that it's too good lol
@@kiztime1234 sounds good! Mate of mine had an Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 and I was blown away by how good that was! For a road bike, I'm not sure you need anything quicker or better on a twisty B road. Really changed my preconceptions with that genre of bike!
It's a shame dealership support for Aprilia North of Edinburgh is lacking, or I might have gone for an RSV4 rather then my Gsxr-r
That’s why I bought a KTM SDR 🔥
I would like to buy your purple suit with 44 teeth logo. How much to order one?
That's why I love my Ducati v2 streetfighter so much more character than an inline 4
Enjoyed the kinda ( BMW limited ) review.
Good job with what u had, we’re allowed
No doubt a great bike.
But it makes me think why would you shell out the BIG Bickies $$$
Or - buy a low Klms S model, add a few extras, re map, add character,
Half the Sheckles
Gen1 XR rider here. 😃 BESTEST thing
Don't forget this is a 600cc bike in the USA until the upper revs, due to double emissions rules (EU + US). So budget another $1K for the ecu flash and kiss your warranty goodbye.
@44Teeth would be great to see you do a back to back comparison with this and the Street fighter SP
Just buy a S1000RR... Makes lane splitting so much easier.
I was thinking all through that, OK yes but for real on the road riding, do you get anything more than the S1000R offers and in more people's budget. Then you pretty much answered it. Having said that the black M1000R with all its carbon at the bike show was a thing of beauty.
Can you take the wings off? As they look freakin silly.
Yes you can. I agree, they look silly.
Actually, all the winged bikes look weird. My guess is they will all look better without them.
Absolute riot, Bravo Chris!🤟😎
Did.you meet Juliane Eger and impress her with your German accent? She had a nice review of the bike too.

Excellent video Chris
Why we're looking for something extra/edgy on a bike with over 200bhp, it's mental. It's why power isn't the end all for bikes.
Too bad you couldn't even wring it properly around the track. I mean the bike is a genuine performer on street and track, no doubt.
Cheers
idk maybe buy the regular s1000r with some nice bits and put the 8k+ you save towards buying a mental zh2 idk that's just me
Cracking review. Shame about the track time. Think I'll stay with my S1000R Sport '21 for now and save some pennies.
Great, ive just come to terms with selling my s1000r and now I want one again. Cheers guys, appreciate that 🤦
Classic Journo-GP shut down by BMW. Shame, I’d like to have seen you get busy at the track.
