  • didn't really feel like 6 months though 🤷🏽 I enjoy figure skating a lot and couldn't wait for the 6 month mark to be able to make this video - for RUclips, but also for me, because it helped me realize that I am getting better even though sometimes it may not feel like it.

    I've been taking my kid to figure skating for about 13 months once a week. Your progress in 6 months is just amazing. It is the fastest progress I have seen.

    Wow! 6 months???????? Girl you are amazing. I am a figure skater too and even though you don´t necesserily need my tips because you are amazing (!!!!) I think that alll of your elements would improve if you didn´t look to the floor and always had your arms straight. It really helped me too! Keep going, itt´s really really good!

      Oh my god I am struggling soo much with not looking down🫠
      I always try to have a good overall posture and look ahead and keep my arms straight and then 5 minutes later I completely forget about everything😂
      I know it makes a great difference 😅
      Thank you a lot for watching and for your comment🥰❤️

    You've made such good progress in just six months! I also LOVE toe loop - it feels so much more natural than the salchow! One thing I noticed from your clips though is you're doing a "toe waltz", where you pick with your toe but then essentially do a waltz jump. Your right foot needs to pivot along the ice in front of your left foot before you take off. Your left foot should also pick directly behind you - at the moment, you end up picking kind of to the side. Coach Julia has a really good video demonstrating the pivot. I hope this is helpful! It's a super common mistake for toe loops, but important to correct for good technique :)

    Your progress has been very fast. I've been skating for six months and have been doing group and private and am nowhere there. The crossovers has been a struggle due to bad edges so that's been my focus the past few weeks. But again, take a few minutes and congratulate yourself on progressing so fast.

    Omg that s the Afi Palace Mall, I miss that. I am originally from Bucharest and that's like the only place where you can skate. I have recently started figure skating as well at the age of 27, but I am living in Sweden now.
    I m glad I found your channel! Good luck with your figure skating journey!

      There is Tiriac Olimpic Rink as well, but it’s too far away from where I live and also more expensive.

    I have been figure skating for 9 years now and I can tell when someone makes progress you are amazing my first six months (I was 5) were a bit hard and it took me a year to be comfortable enough (as a competitive skater)

    I’m going through the grades in the UK. It seems because your country does not have a structured program of going gradually through the levels, you appear to missing a lot of the basic skills that help develop onto more advanced skills. However, I could be wrong.
    I see at my rink where lots of skaters just l practice spins but there basic work is not good enough to start practicing jumps and spins.
    Good luck on your progress, your doing well 👍

    • @aimeetea_
      @aimeetea_  Месяц назад +1

      That may be true🤷🏽‍♀️ I am not really sure.
      I feel like everyone progresses different and certain elements work better for some and take a lot of time for others.
      I obviously haven’t tried levels so I don’t really know. But I am very happy with my coach and her pace - especially the fact that she doesn’t make me struggle with one element, but we go through multiple and train according to what works for me.
      But, a structured curse is for sure very good as well.
      Also, thank you a lot for watching and leaving a comment🥰🥰

    Toe loop was also easy for me in the beginning, but then I realised it was not a toe loop but a waltz toe like yours xD Then it became my enemy and it took half a year to fix, now it's good finally! Keep up the good work!💕

    • @aimeetea_
      @aimeetea_  6 дней назад

      A few people commented regarding my toe waltz instead of toe loop.
      And right now I am actively postponing fixing it until I get my other jumps. 😂
      And once I have those I’ll find some courage to give proper toe loops some attention🤷🏽‍♀️

    You're doing amazing! great progress and dedication. For your spins, from what I can see you are putting your weight on your toe pick which makes you fall out and loose speed. Try to focus your weight on your rocker. It will help you maintain your spinning position, increase rotations and give you stability in your spins. Good Luck!

    • @aimeetea_
      @aimeetea_  Месяц назад

      Thank you!🥰
      Yes, I tend to put my weight on the toe pick since I fell on that one spin.
      Even though I know I should focus on the rocker, I am afraid I’ll shift my weight to the back part of the blade and fall on my back😅
      Thank you a lot for the advice🥰 I’ll try my best!
      Also, thank you for watching!

      Hi🥰 thank you for watching and commenting.
      I feel like some things need to click before other elements just start to work easier.
      At the same time I feel like others just take soo long to look nice and get confident with.
      It is such a difficult sport as well, I think we (also me) forget that even the smallest thing is quite an achievement.
      Also, the most important is to just have fun👌🏼

      I just tried a sit spin and I think I am going to work on that since I feel much more comfortable with falling from a sitting position 😅
      I think that might be the best approach with someone like me😂😂
      Thank you for watching🥰🥰 I am happy to hear I am not the only one since all the skaters at my rink are pretty good with their spins🫠

    • @TT-ce9sm
      @TT-ce9sm 5 дней назад

      @@aimeetea_ Actually, my spins were so non-progressive that one day my coach made me try a sit spin and it was immediately better. 😅 Alas, it has never been good enough to be called a decent sit spin, but after that my scratch-to-be spin has become much better. 😂
      You're not alone, all my adult rookie friends are struggling as well. ☺

    • @aimeetea_
      @aimeetea_  6 дней назад

      After hearing about the difference between toe loop and toe waltz I believe you guys when you are saying it is harder to perfect it. Especially once you got used to doing it a certain way.
      For now I left the toe loop a side a bit till I figure out my spins and other jumps … i feel like I need to focus on my posture and hand movements and many other things🤦🏽‍♀️
