Maybe she’s clumsy off the ice but looking at that “shooting the duck” shes still very flexible and coordinated. I don’t think I can do that even off the ice
I did ballet for 15 years and I'm still the clumsiest person you'll meet. It's amazing how different you can be on/off stage haha

I skated juniors as a kid in Estonia , after moving to the U.S. I tried skating 10 years later but having grown up my body changed and everything felt so different and I was so scared to try anything it was so disappointing , I miss how invincible you feel as a child ..you did phenomenal Mia...bravo!
I skated since I could walk, and when I was 15 I broke my leg and stopped. Every time I’d get back on the ice years later after about 30 minutes it’s like my instincts take back over. It’ll always be apart of you❤️

The human body is so amazing. Even after almost 10 years that muscle memory still kicks in. Your cross overs and pushes make it look like you never stopped training

I'm a competitive ice skater and I just started on working on getting my doubles back since I lost them during quarantine (which was about 4 months). I'm really impressed that you even tried to jump your first day back on the ice in years!

Agree, she wears a mask when it is essential, she tries her very best to bed as safe as possible. She doesn't go out and party like some other's on here do (I don't think mia is a party animal anyways), she is such a good example to kids and just anybody in general.

its super sweet to me that a youtube I watch regularly for makeup, hauls, renovation used to be competitive in figure skating as well. I quit 4 years ago and now going back into it. Never plan to compete again because of how toxic the environment was for me but I love and miss it so much regularly. This video fills my skating heart!

I recently got back on the ice after a few years and I can totally relate to how Mia felt on those spins 😂 good for you that you could do so many!! I will say that after a few sessions the dizziness and feeling sick goes away
i had the same with swimming,.but its totally different my body dont get use to it..i have to eat properly and have a good routine before coming back in the water

Oh I loved this so much! I was a competitive gymnast for 15 years and I also tried going back many years later to see what all I could still do... Let’s just say it ended in major disappointment and an achy body for daysss!!
Try pole dancing or aerial hoop! Still very physical but at least you can use the apparatus for support and don’t have to do any tumbling

It literally never occurred to me until now that figure skaters spin too fast to spot the way ballet dancers do to prevent themselves from getting dizzy 😮💕
Indeed! We just build tolerance. When I was a competitive skater my coaches made us do fast spins and double jumps immediately out of the spin to practice balance. Felt quite nauseous after 😅
Yup!! we have little tricks though, like we tend to focus on a particular spot after a really long spin to quickly center ourselves. Ya get used to the motion though

@@woahitsburnttoast1591 are you stupid? It’s too fast for spotting. By not noticing they are spinning is a figure of speech, it means that you just don’t get dizzy and can throw a single, double or triple after. Gosh. If you don’t get it I guess you just starting out

She got injured so she quit :(
I think she said that it was getting too competitive for her. Like her coach would be like “Oh you don’t want to do this? Well too bad, you have to,” because they were starting to train her to go to the Olympics so she quit.
