I do pretty much all of these for my iPhone. I started doing them when I had my 7 Plus after I realized how quickly the maximum capacity drained. It helped for quite some time, keeping it around 94-88% after 6 months-one year. After two years of owning it, it was at 85% maximum capacity. two months ago I upgraded to iPhone 11. And do the same things, I usually charge it to 100% but not always because of optimized battery charging. And the lowest I’ve let it go is 5%. It’s still at 100% after two months compared to around 96% on my other one.

13 pro max, 7 months old used heavily everyday. 258 cycles on the battery, still at 100%, only used MagSafe since day 1. iPhones ship with a slightly larger mAh battery than what the phone’s battery is rated for. And the battery health percentage is calibrated based on the capacity relative to the rating, not relative to the actual maximum capacity. I have the iPhone 13 pro max as well, the battery was rated 4352 for it, but when I did some digging in the log aggregated files under Analytics and Improvements, I found out that the battery was really around 4500 mAh. I’m not complaining, it means I’m getting more than I even expected when I first bought the phone. But it also means I should take my 100% battery capacity after 6 months with a grain of salt, knowing that really, its slightly less when relative to the actual maximum capacity.
I don’t get why people say leaving a phone or any modern devices plugged in 24/7 harms the battery. They don’t understand that there’s a circuit that prevents the battery charging past 100%. The devices prior to 2010 had not much protection. They aren’t as sophisticated compared to the devices we have these days. Old laptops would not hold a charge after leaving it plugged in 24/7. The ones after 2010 do have charging protection circuits which would prevent the battery from charging past 100%. After the the device hits 100%, then the device automatically stops charging and automatically switch to DC mode. You don’t notice it, but it’s there. I notice that every device I plug in and use all day stay at 100%. It does not drop any lower than 100%. I can look up the charge cycles in the log aggregated list in the analytics settings and the cycle count hasn’t changed at all. The battery health on my iPhone XR is at 86% after nearly 3 years of use. Though, the battery health dropped because I was using the battery. It would still be at 100% if I never unplugged it. My current iPhone 13 Pro Max is at 100% and I have it plugged in almost 24/7. Leaving a phone plugged in overnight is not a bad habit. It’s a myth that it would damage the battery. Also, my battery health is better than others doing the BS 40-80% rule. I bet my iPhone will still be at 100% after 1 year. I checked the battery health on my school’s Chromebook as well and the battery health is still at 92%. It’s a 6 year old battery and it’s been plugged in 24/7 most of the time. It still holds a charge. I don’t get why people avoid plugging their iPhone in overnight. It absolutely does not damage the battery. Draining the battery to 0% is one of the worst things just like letting it overheat and letting it freeze. Letting it overheat kills it the fastest and I never make my phones overheat. I stop using it if it gets too hot. Don’t listen to people that say “leaving the device plugged in overnight or 24/7 harms the battery.” It’s true in older devices, but not in the ones we see these days.
My iPhone 12 which I got brand new in mid September is at 98% battery health. I usually put my phone on charge at like 15% sometimes 20 or 30% and don't always charge it fully to 100% and take it off sometimes in between 80% and 95%. I use the original apple 5w charger to charge it I rarely charge my iPhone over night as well.
My 11 pro max is at 90% battery health after 2 years original battery. I would charge it at 20% all the way to 100% and charged it over night as well and it held up really well and never got a battery change.

I’ve had my 13 Pro Max for 16 months. It’s down to 91%. It stayed at 100% for a year, then drastically declined over the past 6 months. I do everything that I’m supposed to do. I never fast-charge. Hey Nick! I’m deciding to switch soon from the iPhone se 2020 to the iPhone 12😁 would you like to make a video on the iPhone 12 just like you did with the 11?
i used an iphone 12 pro in january , and lasted 100% in 4 months , the thing is that i don't play games on my iphone , and i charge it at 55% . So in my opinion , to keep battery at 100% don't put too much strain on your battery by running your cpu at full throttle all the time
According to Apple, anything above 80% battery health is still classed as being optimal. I generally keep my phones for two to three years and charge them whenever it's necessary from zero to 100% all the time , the worst battery a health ever had was 89% and at that point you sell it or trade it in and it's somebody else's problem.
Some people says use cellphone as it used to be, yeah i really agree but some people are that lucky to get an iphone and some of them are poor but wants to experience using iphone because it is the epitome of smartphones today so we cant blame people minding their battery health because that might be their last time using an apple product.
You can use a smart plug that tracks the energy usage of the iphone and program it to turns of at a certain voltage. Getting closer to 100% the phone will reduce the charging voltage. With this I always wake up with 85%.
I pretty much do exactly the same with my 13 mini but I’ve wirelessly charged it pretty much since day one with a Belkin 10W pad; and It’s still at 100% after the nine months. Although I feel like anything above 10W is a little too much.
What about using a apple wireless charging pad with a 5W adapter? 1. Charging pad have a built in system that regulate the temp 2. 5W adapter will cause the to heat up slower.
And I guess some battery tricks were also applied, right? Settings such as Intimacy, Geofencing, Mail Push notifications turned off, or were the settings reset to factory settings?
had my 13 pro for 6 months still 100% battery health I use the anker nano pro 20w charger and most of the time just charge it to 80% and take it off and here and there it did go below 20. most importantly I charged it near my window where its cooler
Hey Nick. With my old phone, I would turn on Low Power Mode the second I took it off the charger. I was wondering if this degrades the battery any. I also used to plug it in, and keep it plugged in as much as possible. Do these things ruin the battery?
Agree. My iphone 12 been a year now. still 100% . Never been on 100% when charging cause everytime i charge my phone. i set an alarm like 30-40mins . then unplug. Everytime it drop to 20-30 i charge it again.
I wish i knew this when i started using my iPhone 13 Pro Max. It’s currently on 97% after 7-8 Months and i think i was misled into thinking i needed to drain it before charging it. I charged it to a 100% many many times. And i wasn’t using apple certified charger. I was using Anker Adapter too.

So i used the 20W Charging. Yes its a fast charger but i typically dont let me phone go under 50% or in some cases less then 20% when it then goes into low power mode. So in general i never plug in my phone overnight, ive heard optimize battery works infact so well it literally says as a notification “iphone battery as paused/stopped charging till 6 or 9 whenever you have a set sleep schedule, iphone uses your alarma and sleep schedule to determine when i pauses the charge cycle till you wake up. But due to my highly inconsistent sleep schedule i dont charge overnight does mean i havent on accident but typically i dont. I just plug it in when i wake up and charge it till it reachs 95% to 99% rarely 100%
Does Anker 20 watt PIQ3 charger affect the battery health in the long run? i have one akner powerport 3 nano 20 watt but i have never used it as i prefer 5 watt apple charger as it never heats up the iphone while being charged.
I’m still at 100% as well on mine and got mine the day after launch day. Mine is the pro, not the max. I usually don’t charge it until the following day as long as it’s not below 30% and then the following day charge it as I work in the morning, never going over 80%. Seems to work well. My 12 pro was at 88% after a year so I switched things up.

@@casvanarkel I get through the whole day
I concur with you… Life is more important than battery health 😂
Another point is no matter how much u have been using the phone for, it depends on how much charge cycles it has.
Every 60 charge cycle the battery health should decrease by 1% so keep that in mind

I’ve had my 13 Pro Max since it was first released and my battery health is already at 93%. I follow all of these tips too because I had the XS max for over 2 years and my battery health for that device was at 94% before I switched. Crazy.
What’s the battery percentage now
It can sometimes not be accurate, my 12 Pro Max got to 84% after 1 and a half years, it then stayed at 84% for half a year. Yet, the actual on screen time it was capable of barely went down (usually 6/8hrs)
Mine is 96% as got the iPhone pro 13 when it first came out
@@LifeCapturesOnce what do you do to maintain it?
@@IndianChristFollower it’s 95% now but not using it unless i really need to and i guessing putting it on power mode so it saved battery in the long run. If you charge it 100% and it will last just over a day or 2
You can help limiting your charging percentage between 20-80 but at the same time you make yourself be deprived of the 40 percentage of its capacity which makes it quite pointless in my opinion. In the end you should be ok as long as you replace battery every other year
This is true. Batteries have chemicals and those chemicals where meant to be used not to sit. So it doesnt matter if you charge your phone to 100% everyday or every other day as long as you notice it become 100% and dont lit if continuous charge then your golden. Everyone should know heat and cold is a batteries enemy
Bro for some reason, I am getting the same backup as 0 to 100 ipad pro charge and 20% to 80% not a huge difference in my case I charge always at 20 and end @80 n it's almost getting a year old and I'm at 100% battery in my ipad pro 4 I hve don everything with it use it to game 4k games at max refresh rates always and have basically done everything and I don't feel like 20% to 80% I'm missing anything yes occasionally I do a 0% to 100% I feel those days I'm getting a slightly more battery but that's slightly
Update: I’ve had if four months and it’s now on 97% maximum capacity
It’s a scam. The battery gets below 80% right as new iphones are coming out
@@andrewg2032 what’s a scam? And mine is at 95% almost 6 months later
@@andrewg2032 my iphone 8 plus did that. Right as soon as the iphone X came out my phone would quickly go from 100 percent to 80 percent and then a downfall from their.
A good tip I use is to charge your phone with a smart outlet overnight. Just set the smart socket to turn off after about an hour and you're good to go
Remeber guys life s too short to be worried about your iPhones battery health, its built to serve you not the other way around so when the time comes just get it replaced ,like another comment on this video "as long as if the phone works well"
13 pro max, 7 months old used heavily everyday. 258 cycles on the battery, still at 100%, only used MagSafe since day 1. It’s a myth that wireless charging degrades battery faster than wired charging.
Having said that, no matter how you charge, it causes significant heating which is harmful to the battery, so charge in a chilled room with strong air conditioning.
Bro your magsafe charger watt?
@@Goblin_village 20W Apple MagSafe charger.

And do you charge overnight?
@@Goblin_village nope, I stop once I hit 85-90% as most days I don’t need more for my day. With lithium batteries you never want to let it sit at 100%, and never let it drop below 20-30%.
I’ve had my iPhone XR for 3 years, and my Battery health is 92% original capacity. Very rarely wirelessly charge, always left low power mode on, and use an Apple 5w charger- saving my fast charger for a quick top up. I almost never let my iPhone fully charge 100% - I can attest this tips do work!
Do you leave your phone charging at night ?
@@marue1623 No, I don't. I charge it before bed and leave it unplugged overnight.
If you're like me and only use your iPhone as a secondary phone it'll stay at 100% for much longer. iPhone 13; got day one September 2021 and it's still 100%.
I have my 11 pro max since 28.10.2019,my actual battery health is at 92%. I say is more than ok after two and a half year. I try to keep my charging level between 20-80%. Rarely charging over 90% and never charging over night. Mostly with the fast charger with comes to the box,the 18W one.
But most important,no gaming on the phone. Previosly that,I have a 6S plus,at that phone in 4 years I change 3 battery's due to heavy Real Racing 3 gaming.

My Galaxy phone has an option to stop charging automatically when it reaches 85%.. It’s very convenient and I hope iPhones will one day give this feature...
So basically:
1. Keep battery power above 50% (use low power mode if you need to)
2. Use Apple certified chargers
3. Don’t charge to 100%. Charge to about 85-95%
4. Make sure your phone never gets too hot
5. Don’t use your phone while it’s charging
6. Turn on optimised battery charging
iPhones ship with a slightly larger mAh battery than what the phone’s battery is rated for.
Needed this as i got the 13 yesterday
My iPhone 12 which I got brand new in mid September is at 98% battery health. I usually put my phone on charge at like 15% sometimes 20 or 30% and don't always charge it fully to 100% and take it off sometimes in between 80% and 95%. I use the original apple 5w charger to charge it I rarely charge my iPhone over night as well.
I had my iPhone 12 ever since November 1st and the battery capacity it went down to 99% in April and it still is so.

My 11 pro max is at 90% battery health after 2 years original battery. I would charge it at 20% all the way to 100% and charged it over night as well and it held up really well and never got a battery change.
Thank you for these tips. Just got my iPhone 13 3 weeks ago
Max capacity is still at 100%. I got my 13pro max early January 2022. Optimized charging over night is the best. Apple for the win 🏆

Using low power mode nukes HDR playback for photos and videos. The display is so nice, might as well take full advantage of it.
Man I need this video like I’m the type of person that will get bugged or annoyed if anything it’s like 99% so I took some device and did not let it drop below 20% and it worked pretty well
I’ve had my 13 Pro Max for 16 months. It’s down to 91%. It stayed at 100% for a year, then drastically declined over the past 6 months. I do everything that I’m supposed to do. I never fast-charge. I always keep the brightness very low. I never use the phone while charging. I don’t use background refresh, etc. I can only imagine what the percentage would be if I didn’t implement all of these things.

Most of these I do as well! I have an iPhone 5S, 8 and 13 Pro all at 100% too. Biggest tip is don't let the battery fall below 50%.
So if it falls below 50% you charge it back to 80% or 100%??
50%? what?
i used an iphone 12 pro in january , and lasted 100% in 4 months , the thing is that i don't play games on my iphone , and i charge it at 55% .
I’m using spigen 70watt GAN charger to charge my MacBook and iPhone. Does it effects on battery health
I had my iPhone XR for 3 years ever since it dropped my battery percentage is 88% pretty decent for the years I had it for
I thought it was completely the opposite. Discharging completely before recharge to a full change. Never updating.

What if you fast charge the iPhone but leave it in the fridge while it charges. Will the battery age faster?
What about using a apple wireless charging pad with a 5W adapter? 1. Charging pad have a built in system that regulate the temp 2. 5W adapter will cause the to heat up slower.
And I guess some battery tricks were also applied, right? Settings such as Intimacy, Geofencing, Mail Push notifications turned off, or were the settings reset to factory settings?
thank you for this as I got my 13 pro yesterday
So what’s the point in preserving the battery’s life, if you never use half of it anyway?
Have had my 13 pro since it was released, never specifically payed attention to how I use or charge it and I also use MagSafe charging… still 100%
94% nearly 2 years, use it for content creation and avg 6 hours a day . Using 5 watt still with anker powercore since 3 months.

My 12 pro was at 88% after a year so I switched things up.
having phone updated right when the update comes is not best. smartphone manufacturers often send updates that will drain your battery so its better to wait
