This pedal should not be a limited edition, it should be available for as long as possible as a tribute and reminder of Randy's artistry and influence on music, in general.
It is limited because of the components. The Germanium diodes used in that era of Distortion Plus pedals along with the Op-amp are very hard to come by and they cannot continually buy them reliably. A friend of mine opened his up and he had Green Band Diodes while mine has Black Band. In other words all of the 3200 made don't even have the same exact components. Green Band are Darker while Black Band are brighter. The Black Band are what Rhoads' pedal had. I totally agree that this pedal should be continually made but given the above it's virtually impossible. There's a reason why the Modern Distortion Plus doesn't have the same components...it's cost+availability.

What’s the difference between the Classic mustard color MXR Distortion Plus I bought in the 80’s and this Randy Rhoads version, besides the obvious outer case design? I’m sure the components on the pcb are miniature compared to the older components from the 80’s, too. 🎸🤘🏼👍🏻
I heard the Randy Rhoads is tweaked a bit to get the Rhoads tone. Not sure if that is true. I’ll read up on it today and we can talk about it tonight. Thanks for watching buddy!

I noticed there was a manual in the picture, for a two knob pedal, oh yeah and the foot switch, it should come with the land deed to swamp land in Florida
Robert is also my Rep at Sweetwater. They They cancelled my pre order as they "sold out". Too late to find another seller before the opportunists started selling them for big bucks online. Not happy with MXR, Sweetweater, or the scumbag sellers who bought them all up to rips us off. Done with all of them now.

Well, the playing was good but sounded more like EVH. Not even close to Randy's tone. No vintage plexi, no 10 band EQ, no Mxr chorus and flanger. Oh well.

I think Randy’s tone with Ozzy was awful…and the Distortion + is the main reason.
It’s possible. I will never use that pedal. With an EVH I need nothing.

Randy is surely in my top 5. At this point it’s more of a cash grab for all parties IMO. I will not be selling mine.
