I put a Timney trigger on my 452 American, the best 120 bucks I ever spent on a 22 rim fire. I put Warn mounts made supposedly for 3/8 or 11mm rails and they worked great. They’re a little hard to work with but; very good quality.
My 452 is a Varmint model, factory threaded 1/2 x 20unf, came with 5 shot and 10 shot polymer mags and the trigger is adjustable & absolutely perfect withot changing the spring, set to a fraction over 1lb and crisp as can be. Scope use only. Lovely stock and rubber butpad but just ordered a thumbhole stock for it. Lucky enough to have bought it as new, old stock here in the UK. Like the shorter throw of the 457 bolt though...
I knew this would be a great video just by the title. Anyone who owns both of these rifles appreciates firearms. ULux has a cheek and rubber pad btw ;)
NICE, I HAVE ALL THE MODELS, FROM BRNO 1950'S STAMPED, TO 452'S, ONE 455. 4 DIFFERENT 457'S, BUT THE DARN THING IS, NOW I REALLY WANT A 457 LUX HIGH END MODEL AND WOOD WITH A THREADED BARREL!!!🤷♂️🤷♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I have both the 452 and 455 rifles in different models but I prefer the 452 more traditional design. The 452 also has a permanent barrel attachment so It's not a interchangeable barrel model. That said I find the 452 has a better build quality and materials used. They are both very accurate designs and if you shop on the internet they are available from time to time depending on the model. I haven't added a 457 model to the collection, it's more mod european design isn't to my taste. I'm sure that they are good shooters though. I've never had a CZ in any model that wasn't of excellent design and quality.
My 452 came with a plastic mag. I got two extra cz 10shot metal mags. A replacement mag here in aus comes in plastic and metal. But for a few buck's more you can double the capactiy of tge mag
I have the 452 Trainer and just ordered the Royal last night. With my target scope I can hit softball size rocks with my 452 at 250yd every time. I never thought the 452 trigger was that bad but now excited to try the Royal's trigger. Great video. Made me even more excited to get my new rifle. Are the 452 and 457 mags interchangeable? After more time shooting do you notice a significant long-distance difference in accuracy between the 16.5" and 24" barrels?
the best 452 is the 452 American. The thing that best about the 452 vs the 457 is the 452 barrel is threaded and the bolt has 2 locking logs I have 3 452 all outshoot my 457
Does anyone know what chamber the .22lr 452 American comes with ? Does it make a big difference in the type of ammo to use ? Sorry , I don't know all the names for the chamber cuts ; ( precision , ...) ?
@@therealfinn1839 No the barrel is threaded to action, not set screwed to the action. the 457 has play in the fit to action. the 452 does not and is more centered to action. The two locking lugs on the bolt is well know the better way to do it. Look all he great shooting guns in history =. None have just one locking lug on the bolt. None have barrel held in by set screws. to me all changes done to the 457 with just for ease of Manufactauring and conveniences. nothing to make it shoot better.
I don't like the ugly engraving on the 457 why the hell did they do that is it on all wooden 457 I've seen it on other CZS and it's ugly lucky they are good shooters to make up for it

Thanks for the comparison of the rifles.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.

Both the metal and the polymer made magazines are available at your local CZ Dealer.....
The royal and premium still have metal everything, the other 457s have polymer mags trigger guard etc
Thanks for the info! I didn't know that.
@@marginallyinteresting neither did I till I got one😂
Thank you I can tell your meticulous. You are appreciated.
Thank you very much!

Awesome collection!
Some of the very best 11mm dovetail rings are made by an Italian company "Audere"... I have no links to the company, just use their rings.

The 457 is engineered by bean counters. I'll stick with my 452s. The Full Stock is treasured by many. Mine wears a Weaver V24
I prefer the pull back safety. Makes more sense
I had cz 452 Ultra Lux. Never fired yet

Nice! The 452, 455, and 457 use the same mags. Can't really tell any difference in accuracy. They are both excellent.

Thanks for writing! Agree that the American is the best 452 if you don't need irons.
Are you talking about threaded for a suppressor because I have two 452s American 1 has a threaded barrel the other does not

I Have A CZ 452 Varmit & It Is A Tack Driver, 5 Shots Inside Of A Dime At 50yds, With Eley Subsonic HP's (Green Box)...
Awesome!
I think that I could like the 457 if it did not have receiver behind the root of the bolt handle, but it does, so, "no dice" as they say.
Does the 452 lock the bolt on safe?
Yes, it does.
👍❤️👍

I DONT WANT MY CHEEK WELDED TO A RIFLE. THAT MIGHT HURT
Just use JBWeld. Much less painful.
Why would anyone want a recoil pad on a .22?
I would guess to increase the length of pull, if you want to. Obviously the recoil isn't a factor.
After market cheek riser

That 457 royal stamped into the stock looks terrible.
I do not see any difference. Only difference is configuration.
