    This is probably my favorite rifle. I'm doing a video series on mine now where I made some left handed stock modifications. I also installed a YoDave trigger kit which dropped the trigger pull to a pound and a half and I'm bedding it, though I don't have videos on the trigger or bedding yet. I got the rifle when I was 18 and I shoot it all the time. Very accurate and well made. The grain figure you talk about is definitely interesting when re-staining as it highlights the dark and light contrast in the wood.

      I'll check out you left hand modifications since my daughter is a lefty as well. Thanks.

    Beautiful rifles and great video! I'm partial to lever .22s, but I may need to snag one of these beauties. It's impossible to beat that old world design.

      outside of usa, the 452 was regarded as one of the finest .22 field rifles you could get.

      It also allows you to keep your rear sight low which improves your cheek weld.these rifles are well thought out and well executed

    I like the wood pattern on the one without the scope. I got the CZ455 lux. It is just as plain the other one.

      Dylan L, I bought that one at my local shop with out even looking at it. They had a display model and headed off to the back for an unopened one. I had to insist on having a look as they just put the box on the counter and started the paperwork. Needless to say I was surprised at the pattern on the stock when I first saw it. I almost asked to see another and then changed my mind. Glad I did since I really like the grain pattern now!

    I love the stock on the iron sight version. You got one heck of a deal on those rifles if you gave $200'ish. I'd be more than happy to give you your money back on one. Thanks for sharing.

      lol very true about price. i payed $1000 roughly for my 452 and where i am after they stopped making the 452, its now gone up $200 second hand. even at that price its the best rifle ive ever owned and well worth it.

    Snowball, glad you shoot off hand, do you like that rounded stock configuration over the straight back American style stock for off hand shooting? How is the cheek wield? I enjoy off hand shooting, but I find I have to hike my straight rifle quite high to get a proper check wield for me.

    I and many of my fellow country men have been using CZ rifles for decades. Its only in the last few years since the rifles became popular in the US the these rifles have been given the title military training rifles. I am not saying they were not used as a training rifles but I think its just a marketing ply to sell these surplus factiory rifles to a large market in the US because of the introduction of the new CZ 457 model. CZ 452 ,453 and 455 models have been standard sporting rifles for generations of hunter's and target shooters. I have owned many CZ rifles and still have two in my possession and the were never labelled as military training rifles. In my opinion the label military training rifle is just a smart selling idea. By the way loved the video and they are two beautiful rifles.

    • @AldoSchmedack
      @AldoSchmedack 9 месяцев назад

      Wrong. They are copies of the German WW2 training rifles which the German Army themselves called training rifles and used as such. And the prior models to these directly, the Brno, were called training rifles as well. The history of them being such goes back decades and decades, and the US military used training rifles going back as far as, at least, if not earlier, then the 1903 springfield. .22lr trainers have been around at least a century if not more. They always have been called that.

    • @stephenshelley5843
      @stephenshelley5843 8 месяцев назад

      @@AldoSchmedackSorry bud I'm far from wrong. Call them what you want but they are still hunting and sporting rifles. Nothing remotely mauser about them. They were only ever labelled as training rifles when introduced to the US market. Fact.

    The sights are graduated in meters not yards (1:33), it is a European rifle and they do use the metric system.

    • @Snowball042
      @Snowball042  6 лет назад

      Seamac : True. However 50 Meters equals 54.68 Yards not a great difference if limited to the typical distance the .22 is utilized. I also checked to see if the CZ website definitely stated yards or meters for their tangent sights and they do not.

    • @seamac7966
      @seamac7966 6 лет назад

      You were looking at the CZ-USA website which doesn't say SFA about the graduation, but if you go to CZ's actual website (the European one) it says they are in meters. Here is a link to the 455 Lux II www.czub.cz/en/produkty/malorazky/boltaction/cz-455-lux-ii.html. Also If you are using the open sights for hunting or target shooting the difference between meters and yards does make a difference as you can go from a head shot on a grouse to a miss or a body shot resulting in a loss of some meat due to the bullet drop.

    • @seamac7966
      @seamac7966 6 лет назад

      I own several 452 rifles all with the sights and use the for all my small game hunting needs here in Canada's Northwest Territories.

    • @Snowball042
      @Snowball042  6 лет назад +1

      Seamac Yes, thanks for the web site. The CZ-USA site probably doesn’t want to scare us Yankees. I have a background in engineering and healthcare so I use the metric system more than the English. Unfortunately, my sight picture with open sights is getting fuzzy with age. It’s a shame since I like shooting tangent sights on my Mauser and these CZs.
      Most here in the US dislike open sights on their rifles so our selection here is limited for new Center Fire rifles.

      Do you have any of the CZ455’s?
      I was wondering how they compare in finish and accuracy to the 452’s.
      I’ve had a want to buy one with a Mannlicher stock.
