    Well done Chris.
    With the increasing costs of reloading centrefire, it's refreshing to see what fun & frustration can be had with a .22lr at long range. Hopefully your supporters will get to see more long range .22lr shooting on your channel.

    Thanks for making this video. I just gotten into long range with my 44(!) year old BRNO mod. 2 and I'm learning a bunch from you. And I have to say, it's not the rifle that sets the limits - it's my skills, and I love to learn from you guys! The .22lr is a fabolous learning platform.

    Well done and it's the accomplishment of hitting the target and having fun. I have a CZ 455 .22 Magnum and am also hitting the target at 300m. The odd one misses but that is because the round is light and any wind at 300m affects the round, but 95% hit the target.

    I bought a 1963 Anschutz 1413 for £125, added a Vector Optics 12-60x60 scope with adjustable mounts (overkill, buy cheaper), and a barrel tuner for £80, much cheaper option, more accurate.

    Brilliant video 🎉I'm 67 years young 😅and i have 5 rifles Sako quad 22 with a 3 ×9bushnell scope,Sako finfire with a 4×12 bushnell all 22,now a Sako quad with a 4×12 Bushnell scope also a Tikka 223 with a 3-5× 10 vari XIII leupold scope and last but not least a 22-250 with the same type of leupold scope.
    I still get the most fun shooting the 22 rifles target and rabbit shooting a few foxes every summer,the problem i was having was eye relief on the smaller scopes without any parallax.I was on the verge of giving up my lifetime hobby until I saw your video 📹. I will be studying it in great depth and detail. Thank you again my friend from Ireland 🇮🇪.

The video was technically enough with a nice balance of keeping it simple. Your videos have helped me make up my rifle shopping list with fair and honest reviews. Keep up the good work and appreciate the time and effort taken to put the content together. Oh, happy birthday for the 21st!

    Awesome effort Chris. I attend a club range session ( 100 yards) every month with a 457 and a basic Hawke scope. Usually just my pesting rifle so no special addons. Results are very pleasing with sub 2" groups. The RSO recently made the observation that many centrefire users are reverting/converting to 22lr due to costs. Enjoyed your results.

    Nicely done, a cheap way to practice long range centrefire shooting as the principle of adding elevation and windage is the same.

    We use the Lapua Super Long Range ammo and shoot 500 yards all day long. But only on non windy days. A tiny bit of wind will ruin your day. The cost of ammo has increased so much that you can buy a nice 22 with bipod and scope for what you would spend to shoot larger caliber stuff for about an hour. The fun happens when you push whatever your shooting to the limits. I have a blast shooting a 22 at 500 yards or a 6.5 PRC at 1000 yards. But with the price of ammo i shoot 22 more. I just went last weekend and shot a couple boxes of 44 magnum, a couple boxes of Five Seven, and a couple boxes of 45 auto. I spent around $340.00 on that ammo and my shooting time was like 35 minutes.

    I think investing in a FFP MIL scope would make it easier to track what you’re doing. If your set on staying with the kit you have, the way I was taught because it’s all we had, it is important to take notes every time you adjust. • @chrisparkin431
      @chrisparkin431  Год назад +2

      Fixed parallax isn't really an issue as long as you lower the mag. yes parallax is still an issue but it's not the be all and end o of close range shooting unless you are using high magnification. Parallax correction and focus aren't exactly the same thing although they are related, maybe I should do a video on parallax alone??? again, comments and video shares plus subscribers generate the income to make it worth the time spent and ammunition/travel costs

      a 50mm objective has no effect on ultimate range potential, mainly just image intensity in weaker light. also, the 16." barrel is no real detriment as most ammo types will reach full velocity in one. this rifle gets almost identical speed to my 457 with a 20" Barrel.
