      Hello, I'm fron Turkey. How old are you? Did your spine improve by 0 degrees with surgery? Didnt't he leave a share for the spine to lenghten?

      Hello, I'm 14 years old, was 13 for the surgery. My spine has now become overcorrected after surgery. We are not quite sure why, as he did leave extra slack in the tether to account for more growth, but its overcorrected anyways.

    HI Annabelle! I'd love for you to talk about any "precautions" you were given from the medical team in your Part 3, such as limits to your activity or movement. Also, could you talk about the pain--how bad is the pain, describe what kind of pain you are having, and how you are managing the pain? Great videos!

    I get the same surgery in 2 days
    Edit: Update, I got the surgery and I was super nervous but it went well! The worst part was probably the chest tube & the lung pain but other than that it was ok
    Update 2: I am going in for my second surgery (this time on the upper part of my back) still super nervous. To be honest the buildup is the worst part for me 🖤

    Hey! I’m getting scoliosis surgery in a few weeks and i also have a HUGE fear of throwing up as well! Is there any tips you could give me on not throwing up? You also were so brave!

    • @annabellesingleton6655
      @annabellesingleton6655  4 года назад +2

      Hi! Best of luck with your surgery! I would just make sure to communicate with your surgeon, anesthesiologist, and your nurses and tell them all about your fear, and communicate that you really do not want to throw up, and they can give you special pain meds that cause less nausea, and also give you additional anti-nauseas meds, or at least thats what they did for me. :) Thank you for watching!

      Annabelle Singleton I’m probably getting this I have a 63 degree curve and a 62 degree curve. What is a chest chube? And how long do we have to wait to go swimming? And running? Thanks! 🧐🧐😅😅

    • @annabellesingleton6655
      @annabellesingleton6655  4 года назад +3

      @@gacha4nerds129 Hi! Best of luck with your surgery! The chest tube is just something they put in to drain fluid from around your lung. Swimming I am not sure, I had to wait six weeks before I could take a bath so I assume its a little longer for swimming because of the chlorine in pools, but I would definitely ask your surgeon to be sure. Same goes for running, I would ask to be sure but for me I could start running a little bit probably at around 4 weeks.

    It drives me insane to watch these videos with patient saying how much pain they were in. It is 2024 not 1824, we have every kind of agent and technology to keep people out of pain. My belief is that some of it is due to the so-called opioid/opiate crisis. “ Let us avoid making surgical patients pay with unnecessary suffering for the opioid overprescribing sins of others.”
