Thank you for your video. My 13 year old daughter had her surgery 8 months ago. 53 degree curve. 3 months she was told to not leave the house. She was told to never do any contact sports again so her netball and hockey is no more allowed. She is trying tennis from next week. And currently doing disc shooting. It's lovely to see you are so positive giving others hope.
mother of 5 here (in 30s now) with a T4-L1 fusion at age 16 (removed rods at 19). Became a firefighter, weightlifter, and covered my scar with an awesome tattoo at age 20. You got this girl :)
I had surgery on the upper part of my spine cause I had an unstable neck. I also have scoliosis which causes back pain. It’s inspiring to see you be positive and overcome in the face of hardship.
Julia sorry to hear of your flexibility woes that is limiting your dancing potential, but how does it compare to when you still had your tethers in your unfused spine? It would be nice if you did a video comparing your current life in regards to back pain and flexibility with a fused spine to how you used to be when it was still tethered.
Thanks Julia. If I would just like to add, we'd like to hear how your lung function and breathing is now especially during times of physical activity compared to when your spine was still tethered since your ribs gone through and changed a lot due to the vcr procedure. Cheers.
Julia I pray your having a Blessed day I used to hide my Scar on my head from a Brian Surgery I had a Brain Tumor removed and after watching your videos you helped me to be able not to hide my scar and that people need to see my scar because if they are going through something like what I went through it will help them that they can make it through it too you really have inspired me to go to hospitals and talk with people that are going to have Brain Surgery and to tell them that they are going to be ok thank you again so much for sharing your videos 🙌🏽
Thank you so much for your encouraging words about being Brave I got Bravery from seeing how Brave you are and such an Incredible person you are to all of us ❤
Hi, i am fused t9-l4. I had surgery in 2014, went back to my surgeon due to pain and leaning to the left again…. Everything is ok except i am starting to bend my metal work a bit…. Regarding the bending to left its my body going into its comfort position and to change it i would have to retrain my body and brain, by looking in a mirror and trying to keep putting myself back straight…. But its very difficult to do…..
Didnt think this could happen as most ofyour spine is fully fused. The metalwork on top of that is just needed temporarily until the bone from the spine fuses. The fact that your metalwork is also curving goes to show the fusion may be falling apart.

That’s a great idea I’ll definitely get round to making a video like that as there is a huge difference x
