Thank you for making this like totally radical comparison, dude! It's surprising how the NES port is both longer and harder than the original arcade game hahaha! In most cases it's the other way around. However, Super C on the NES also fits that description. In terms of other NES ports that did an incredible job in recreating the feel of the arcade experience, while actually managing to surpass their original counterparts, Gun.Smoke and P.O.W. Prisoners of War come to mind, as they both came up with new content and were much more fun to play, compared to their angry parents. Anyway, be sure to keep it up and NEVER give up!
On home console games, you can afford the longer stages and relaxed gameplay while enjoying it in the comfort of your own home... Definitely worth the money for such a great port of the arcade hit!

I haven't played TMNT Shredder's Revenge but TMNT arcade game 1989 for me still is the best TMNT game I ever played. I am looking forward to the TMNT cowabunga collection which looks awesome. TMNT 1990 movies were the best, not crazy about the reboots 2014 and beyond with Michael Bay as they really got a lot of things wrong. The cartoon show from 1989 was the best of all as well. If they make a TMNT movie or TMNT 4 film I would prefer with the 1990's animatronic style TMNT movie rathe then the CGI style turtles which did not work that well and looked over exaggerated and buffed up
I remember when i got this at the time... having the arcade game at home with bonus stages also was so cool... huge conversion for the NES hardware! i love it.
It's true, it's an incredible port, but I've played it and I've found a big but and it's a defect in the impact commission, it's that when you hit an enemy the third hit will fail and that's when the enemy will hit you. They did this to create a greater difficulty in the absence of enemies on the screen? or is it that they could not faithfully carry the arcade gameplay; I think it's the first. this leads to the game using different tactics.
The NES version was one of the first games I ever played when I was a kid. I never had an opportunity to try the Arcade version. I look forward to giving it a try in the Cowabunga Collection.

I remember living in Guantanamo bay Cuba and they had the arcade out in front of the Navy Exchange. My dad let me chill out there with 5 bucks which was a lot at the time. When he came out I was super bummed to leave but I saw the outline of the NES game in his bag and could faintly make out what it was. I immediately shut up and was the best kid ever. I still remember opening it on Christmas. 😃 Now I'm playing it with my 4 year old son and having a blast.
Now this is how a port is supposed to be.. if you can't get a 100% 95% will do.. I know the NES was limited but what Konami did to make this port work on the NES is nothing short of amazing..
TMNT on NES just was so much more technologically advanced. look at @05:16 they had a huge 65" or so widescreen TV for shredder unlike the boxy arcade TV which was probably some rear projection TV haha.

The very first time I saw TMNT's arcade cabinet, I had the fortune to see it with a screen really big, just the wide as the joysticks table. I think it was a 40" size, 4:3. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I think the real issue at the apartment complex is that people stored giant bowling balls in the top floors, that seems like a code violation to me hahah...especially unsecured and ready to just come lose and fly down the stairs. Bad timing that giant novelty bowling ball collector had hit apartment burn down and have them find their way down the steps! I loved Arcade game of this game as well as the NES version. The NES Version was way better because the fight with Dirt Bag in the snow level and the Samurai Guy in the typical dojo level. Also the battle against Baxter the Fly instead of Beebop and Rocksteady....which is ironic because the re-worked Sega Genesis game of Turtles in Time (Hyperstone Heist) has you fight him in his human form instead of his fly form in the Arcade/SNES versions of actual Turtles in Time. Hyperstone Heist was fun but the difference in sound is unbelievable between the SNES and Genesis, they're version of the amazing boss themes is just terrible. It sounds like they have sample rate of 16hz @ 96bits. SNES ALWAYS had that over Genesis...2 years difference in technology made a huge difference (Genesis/Master System), especially back then. They truly had some of the best sound in video games of that era and some are all timers like from the Squaresoft games (Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy "6", and Super Mario RPG (I can't believe I'm buying a System years after playing video games just for that game, but I bet Nintendo counted on that for being born in the mid 80's that played that game to death and have it in their top 5 video games ever. I bought a PS4 for 3 games: Kingdom Hearts 3, Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes. Just like I bought the Dreamcast back in the day for Code Veronica...only for it come out...and buying the"director's cut" for PS2 with my favorite (Wesker) literally 6 months later (with a demo to the upcoming amazing Devil May Cry).Games were infinitely better back then and slowly turned to trash at the end of 2000's...but also had showed some signs of that up to that point.

NES games from Konami have some of the most memorable soundtracks from that generation. Obviously the visuals aren't identical between the 2 but the game still plays great on either version.
Although I loved TMNT 2 for the NES as a kid I couldn't get enough of the arcade game. The arcade wins every time. And now that I actually own one as an adult I can play it all the time haha.
Surprised how much more detail and emotion is packed into the NES game. It's sometimes a bit too ambitious for the low resolution, but it feels like they got the most out of the limitations while the arcade game made no consideration for them at all. The mind-melting 80's palette and the lack of home sprite limits are doing most of the heavy lifting for a slightly unpolished work. It's no Turtles in Time, that's for sure. Even in the first stage. April's apartment makes no sense in terms of scale and her face suggests she's related to Amiga Billy Lee. Her struggles when she's tied up also look way more convincing in 8-bit. Even Shredder's design is a little more intense, with his eyes hidden in shadow and all the new sharp edges.

Exactly, my friend! I thought that this video was originally supposed to be about a fair comparison between 2 different versions of the TMNT game; NOT about console wars or developer politics. That shithead troll obviously has a MAJOR problem with Nintendo and unless he could make and publish his own TMNT game on Genesis, I just don't see what his point is? 🤨

Cowabunga collection comes out this week! Can't wait!
This is a great example for TMNT at home.
This port was insane back in the day
Obrigado Marota !!! Nes make one AWESOME port this arcade game !!!
The shredder soundtrack is SO aggressive heavy thrash
Ótimo Port, conseguiram adaptar o jogo sem tirar a essência.
Correct! 👍🏿🎯
Replaying these games on the Cowabunga Collection. Highly recommended. 👍

Definitely worth the money for such a great port of the arcade hit!
nes graphics colour looks attractive and sounds feels better to hear
man this game is my passion on arcade, even today sometimes I play this game here, just amazing

When I was kid my mind played tricks on me making me think the NES port’s graphics were almost the same as the Arcade version.
An absolute masterpiece from top to bottom. This is genuinely the gold standard on how to port something onto weaker hardware.

Impressionante!

Man I remember as a 7 yr old playing this in the arcade was a dream we couldn't believe it after playing the TMNT 1 on the nes that was super hard and didn't really look like the TV show. But this made us wish and when TMNT the arcade game made it on nes we were blown away. I remember my grandma rip took me and my older brother to Kmart and said we could get one game I wanted this so bad and my brother wanted Metroid 😡🤬and I don't remember but she got Metroid and I was pissed at my brother, the memories but I end up getting from a friend. Good ol days trading games. Now gaming is trash compared to them days. God I love being a turtle fan!!!!
The arcade version is easily my favorite beat em up ever. The NES version is amazing considering the limitations of the hardware, and was a blast to play. Still is.
Walking out of a movie and seeing this game for the first time as a child , the fresh scent of pop corn in the air and watching a ton of kids playing this game drastically shoving quarters in the machine was a very very badass experience

one of the great NES games that managed to use its power a lot!
If they make a TMNT movie or TMNT 4 film I would prefer with the 1990's animatronic style TMNT movie rathe then the CGI style turtles which did not work that well and looked over exaggerated and buffed up
One of the best 8-bit games.
I wish there was a 16 bit port of this game. surprised they didn't make one for the genesis at least
Hyperstone Heist has levels inspired by the first arcade game
It's possible. The Genesis is still popular in Brazil. They have some crazy rom hackers. You'll never know 🤷♂️

Top notch content!
I remember when i got this at the time... having the arcade game at home with bonus stages also was so cool... huge conversion for the NES hardware! i love it.
I love the Nes port, but the Arcade version is a masterpiece!!!!
Nes version was the best
It's true, it's an incredible port, but I've played it and I've found a big but and it's a defect in the impact commission, it's that when you hit an enemy the third hit will fail and that's when the enemy will hit you. They did this to create a greater difficulty in the absence of enemies on the screen? or is it that they could not faithfully carry the arcade gameplay; I think it's the first. this leads to the game using different tactics.
The arcade version looks like the graphics seen in TMNT 4: Turtles in time for the SNES

I love the arcade version of teenage mutant ninja turtles
The very first time I saw TMNT's arcade cabinet, I had the fortune to see it with a screen really big, just the wide as the joysticks table. I think it was a 40" size, 4:3. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Wow im surprised to see somebody finally did it a side by side comparison
An NES port I was truly impressed with as a kid. My brother and I loved this game.

The Arcade is better, but is a pretty impressive port for the NES.

You cold tell the arcade team made the nintendo version. It shows. The credits proves this too.
