Awesome tribute, so enjoyable. I will to buy that game for my Switch... The only aspect that I think is superior is music. TMNT in the Time bosses theme is insuperable.
Between Shredder's Revenge and Cowabunga Collection; we completely set for TMNT games this gen. I don't even feel the need for DLC because of everything we got! Side note; Shredder's Revenge absolutely fits the Nintendo Switch so perfectly! This week I played on a stage on lunch break with a coworker using the joycons while also online with 4 other players. Then a bit more in the bus coming home and finally at home when in the T.V. Everything worked so seamlessly and fully utilized the intention of the Switch; making it feel special.
TMNT Fans aren't as vocal as other fanbases because there alway thriving
I wouldn't mind a Cowabunga Collection 2 with the 2003 show's games but if we didn't get one, yeah, I'd be content with what we got this year
Do they have it for the lite
Same here, last Sunday I had a video game afternoon with my friends, and we were playing the 6 of us in my Switch. Felt like being 7 years old again, the couch co-op experience of this game is amazing
@@tntmx it looks easy as hell
Turtles in time (SNES) will always hold a special place in my heart, Shredders revenge was a blast aswell.
I hope the cowabunga collection has both the NES arcade game, the actual arcade version, and snes and arcade versions turtles in time.
My local video store when I was 7 must have had me tagged, because if we walked in that store and it wasn't checked out, I'd grab it every time 😂
Used to beg my older brother to play when he got home from work. Now my son begs me to play the new one when I get home from work 🥲
@@ilikefartjokes it has all those old games 😁. Unfortunately only 4 games have online multiplayer...
1. one of the versions of Tournament Fighter.
2. Tmnt: The Arcade Game (arcade version)
3. Turtles in Time (arcade version)
4. Hyperstone Hiest
For some dumb reason they decided Hyperstone Hiest should be the one with online multiplayer and not SNES Turtles in Time 😢
I liked it but man the quarters I dumped into the arcade machine at the pizza shop by my house. 10 bucks got me fed and a night of turtles in time. Miss that shit.
Turtles in time is graphically the best looking Turtles game
Not gonna lie, been playing the hell out of Shredder's Revenge. If you don't have this game, you're missing out. The amount of attention to detail and effort they put into this game is nothing short of phenomenal.
They even got the OG TMNT 4 voices back. And they haven't missed a step. Don't need no celeb billing here.
Can we all take time to recognize how the battle with Chrome Dome in Shredder's revenge took elements from the SNES Turtles In Time Shredder fight (throwing foot soldiers at the screen) That was awesome.
Yeah, I love they put this reference. It was so nice to see this.
True! But I missed this in Turtles Hyperstone Heist for Sega Genesis.
This game is such a love letter to OG TMNT games. Kudos to the developers for their efforts! THEY NAILED IT.
Don’t forget about the human version of Baxter Stockman from the original arcade game. He was the stage 3 boss with all of the Mousers.
That's what I thought. They missed him. I remember human Stockman in Sega Génesis game.
They also missed the Super Shredder fight in Manhattan Project.
I think its cuz he put bosses only appeared in shedders revenge, there are some other bosses missing like white wolf and samurai android both appear in arcade game from nes
Shredder's Revenge has everything and even more! Wow!
The original Arcade version still goat for me, nailed it so well the first time. Love the look, music, animation, sprites. I remember finding it at the local food Lion grocery store when I was a little kid and losing my mind. After getting to level two and running out of quarters, I had dreams that whole night about it.
yup! sound effects, animation, even the music! I love Krang's theme song, lol and when General Traag dies, turned up full blast (in the arcade) it was awesome!
Great video, except the Super Shredder battle from Manhattan Project should have been added with the other comparisons at the end! 👍🏻
My favorite of the Super Shredder battles by a mile.
@@VladieShark my favorites are Leatherhead, Groundchuck, and Dirtbag
Shredders Revenge was a blast, but what it did was highlight what a masterpiece Turtles in Time was. The visual style, gameplay, music, and sound design were all excellent. SR is a close second, but TinT is still the goat.
shredder’s revenge is so much fun and a great game that was actually finished. sad that we have to say that these days but you can tell they really wanted to make it ive been playing online and once my brother is back in town we’re for sure playing
Wow, I didn't expect the arcade version to hold up SO well.
They always do. The Simpsons and X-Men arcades both look stunning too.
Also if you have ever seen a Golden Axe arcade, that also looks amazing.
The Manhattan project is still one of my all time favorites here's hope that one day they remaster that as well
I love the Chrome Dome fight where it’s similar to the Shredder Fight in TMNT IV, where you have to fling the foot soldier towards the screen. Really a cool callback
Since that fight was exclusive to the SNES version (to take advantage of adding those throws the arcade game didn't have) seems a lot of people don't realize Chrome Dome's off-screen bit is a callback.
I've been playing Shredder's Revenge everyday since it was released. After watching just 2 minutes of this video, I have the urge to play for another 4 hours today. It's simply a great game!
So many good memories with TMNT Turtles in Time.
The fact I only played it for a few days (rented it from Blockbuster, when that was still a thing) but still perfectly remember the boss music, says a lot about the game's quality.
Im 41 and playing shredders revenge legit brought back childhood feelings. No game has ever been able to do that
Edit: I was smiling ear to ear the entire time.. and every time for that matter
The Hyperstone Heist was absolutely my favorite game on the Genesis as a child. Playing Shredder's Revenge has made me feel like a kid again, it plays just like the classics.
Hyperstone Heist still has the best soundtrack to a Turtles game
Hyperstone Heist is the best one. Yeah it's missing the throwing the guys in front of the screen & Bibop for whatever reason. At least the game doesn't force you to power up every guy to truly play the game the right way.
TMNT Shredder's Revenge is the best TMNT game i've ever played in years
2 best TMNT games is nes TMNT 3 Manhattan project and TMNT turtles in Time.
This new one however is more than welcome to become my new fav. It's been a couple decades since I enjoyed a TMNT beaten up game.
Yes turtle 3 nes is the top and turtle in time snes is a great game but too short , for the ninja turtle shreeder revenge is a very good game
New one is too easy
You have not played streets of rage 5 then
I love the super shredder music in shredder's revenge it sounds amazing
Shredder's Revenge is what I thought Turtles in Time looked like until I looked at footage of Turtles in Time. 😳
Turtles in Time had the best music. I really liked Shredder's Revenge hopefully they make a sequel with more playable characters.
Granitor was missing that kinda pissed me off when I saw general krag without sergeant Granitor
@@noctilucent7396 😔
and graphics, it wasn't too cartoony which resembled the 90's cartoon more.
man I loved Manhattan Project many memories played the shit out of it but Shredder's Revenge definitely fills the void
On a side note, Captain Zorax was one of the bosses in TMNT3: Radical Rescue for the Gameboy, very obscure game but shows even he had a prior game appearance before Shredder's Revenge.
Guess they skipped the Gameboy games, as they have fights with the usual bad guy crew plus a rare solo appearance by Dirtbag.
When I hear the nes music it makes me feel like a kid again. All the memories come right back in. And I'm 42 years old
Ah, you still forget NES TMNT 3 also got Super Shredder.
Oh my god the side by side made me realize thay the thing Rat King jumps on in the background IS LITERALLY HIS VEHICLE FROM TURTLES IN TIME.
Manhattan project s a masterpiece
Yes it's my top favorite game of nes
I cant wait to play it again.
It’s very unappreciated.
That's my favourite TMNT game ever.

The sound effects in Shredders Revenge sounds so muted compared to the older games . Didnt anyone notice the bosses in shredders revenge dont make any noises when they are attacked compared to the older games .
I had to adjust the sound for Shredder's Revenge.
I wish the bosses made more substantial foot step noises when they ran and the game needs more vigor in the sound effects.
I hope they can mod in sound effects from other games, I've noticed the Turtles Arcade game had punchier sound effects that sounded more satisfying especially on the NES.
@@Yayyyyyyyyyy Yeah. I miss the stonersoldiers do the "DUNDUNDUNDUNDUN", from Turtle in Times, when they rush at you.
Super Shredder was in TMNT 3 (NES) as well
This is exactly kind of the video I wanted to see, thanks!
I like how the bosses look in Shredder's Revenge the best but I like how the Turtle's look In Turtles in Time the best .
Some of the earlier bosses I found harder than some in the mid game but it's an absolute belter of a game outsider for game of the year
No special punishment like the older games, just spam your special and the bosses are beaten very quickly.
Im can be leo and raph
Just dream come true, receive best game in the series after 30 years, even not from Konami, but still such a faithful to original.
TMNT IV was such a good game for its time. So much fun when I was a kid...
Very nice historical overview of past games.
Shredder's Revenge is an amazing love letter, but there are two elements that hold it back for me: ---[ 1 ] ANIMATION: the frames in 2022 are drop dead gorgeous. Notice, however, in the older games, just how outsized every reaction is. Like when enemies get hit, they look like they're in major pain, and sometimes even jerk quickly backwards. Enemies in 2022 look like someone accidentally bumped a little too hard into them in the street. ---[ 2 ] SOUND EFFECTS: 2022's tepid animations are accompanied by tepider sound effects. Why does a charging bipedal bull sound like someone's sneakers tapping the pavement? Why does a boulder smashing sound like someone dropping a candy bar? And the turtles weapons making contact are stock punching sound effects. It seems like whoever did the sound drew from a sound library of more conventional, realistic sounds. In the older games, nothing sounds like anything in the real world. Sharp weapons *sound* sharp (somehow), and blunt weapons *sound* heavy. Players hear loud thumping or impact noises when something dangerous is fixing to run them over. Even the really goofy damage grunt that all bosses let out in Turtles in Time goes a long way to making players feel like they're making a big impact in the cartoon world. My examples work almost across the board, but there are exceptions. I don't think, though, that there's an example of where 2022 did better in these two areas (again, outside of the frame work)
Alas, you did miss one version of Super Shredder. He started back in TMNT 3 as the first time Shreds started using unstable mutagen to go the extra distance. I became aware of it during his Death Battle with Silver Samurai when they showed the sequence from the game. Looking back in a playthrough of the game, it was indeed the moment in which Shredder started suping up.
Shredder's fight in the new game is the best. Only need three words why:
WU-TANG CLAN.
Wutang sucks. They should have hired megadeth boss fights in tmnt have always been thrash metal. Always.
Thanks for the video. I was looking for an explanation of each boss's origins in the actual cartoons as I recognise most but there's a couple I don't remember.
I never liked that bebop and rocksteady only appear once as bosses since they are very prominent in the animated series, I liked this new game because they are very present despite having the same presence as before, individual fight and tag team. and well the level of the car is an extra.
I always hated that we didn’t get bebop in hyperstone heist but that game was just a shorter version of turtles in time for sega
(Still fun tho if you didn’t have the other)
The "Shut Up and Take My Money!" meme was MADE for this game. I didn't even know it existed until right now.
Manhatan project looks so great. Those models are amazing
Best thing about Krang's fight is the theme
I love all the Easter eggs in the background
Awesome work!
My only wishes is that Granitor, Tora, and Shogun were bosses in SR. But it’s still such a lovely game
Though shredders revenge is the game I wished I could play at home as a kid I'm still glad we got the nes and snes versions
It’s cool that the SNES Turtles in Time game still looks great. I definitely remember the NES ones looking better.
This was a good comparison. Just missing comparing the mechanic from when you fight Shredder in turtles in time where you have to throw foot soldiers at Shredder when he's in the cockpit view. You're rewarded for utilizing the same mechanic against Chromedome in Shredder's Revenge.
Yeah, it's a huge callback and I like it.
Such a dumb gripe, but I like the old flashing color, when they're almost done, so much more.
so where is the Vanilla Ice dance battle stage?
I'm on my second run around or teenage mutant Ninja turtles shredder revenge I just can't get enough of this game so beautiful and it's a breath of fresh air from hardcore gaming I'm loving it hopefully they can build or give us some DLC extra levels for four seasons that would be awesome and new playable characters
Awesome tribute, so enjoyable (I think Wignut looked better before). I will to buy that game for my Switch... The only aspect that I think is superior is music. TMNT in the Time bosses theme is insuperable.
Groundchuck is more intimidating in TMNT 3 than in Shredder's revenge.
Boy I'm glad the trope of 'damsel in distress April being tied up in the back of the level while you do all the fighting' is over.
After seeing the new and then seeing the new one compared to the old ones do you realize how fucking good of a job they did making this! Its gives that same amazing feeling and bright colors that the old nintendo beat em ups had its just so beautiful and im not even that big of a tmnt fan but i loved those games growing up.
Soon as the newest game was coming out I started humming the arcade cabinet boss music.
That's how iconic it is after spending so many hours AND quarters playing it back in the day
Shredders Revenge is beautifully done. I am enjoying playing it with my son
I love the noise the bosses make when they get hit in Turtles in Time/Hyperstone Heist.
I have pre-ordered mine can't wait to play it
3:07 Man that transition with Mikey is seamless between fights
Everything about Turtles in Time is my favorite. I would totally be a re master
The Boss theme of Shredder's Revenge sounds like a full mix of all the another boss themes, its pure perfection
Look what they did to my boy Slash... made him into a goofy muppet
He actually looks pretty accurate to his appearance from the 87 cartoon.
@@josephjones7828 Yeah, you're right! Didn't remember that version of Slash. I grew up with the toys from the 90s, and the nes/snes games were he had a more sinister appearance
They did wingnut dirty lmao
wouldve been cool to see him paired up with Screwloose. Even to this day I always see it as Wingnut and Screwloose and not just Wingnut.
Turtles in Time still had the best soundtrack
Oh boy can’t wait for my recommended to be filled with TMNT stuff after watching this video
nice job, bro
SNES Turtles in Time had the best soundtrack of all of these. So much nostalgia in the video.
Manhattan project has the best OST and long enough stage.
Turtles, X-men, and the Simpson’s arcades will always be the best side scrolling beat em ups! Those machines were my life when I was a kid!
Thank you TMNT for giving us this game 🙏🏻
I was laughing with Mikey while the others was facing Tokka and Rahzar
2:26 this is my favorite part when they team up is kinda funny-
Verry nice video.
I love how the Rat King's machine from Turtles in Time made it into this game. What a touch.
Holy crap, Shredder's Revenge has all the bad guys from everywhere.
Em algumas cenas, o Turtle in Times continua sendo o melhor. E os II e III do Nes realmente são muito feitos.
Tmnt games always had tunes that gets one pumped up
2:41
Bread and Butter Combo, uppercut into aerial. Repeat.
Lets admit that turtles in time was by far the best looking turtles game to date.
Amazing vibes from turtles in time. This game is really good
I just downloaded Shredder revenge and wowww my child hood memories has been resurrected!!!😍😍😍😍
I died when Shredder's boss theme was a rap song 🤣🤣🤣
I was so worried fighting Shredder that he was going to bust out his instant kill lightning attack without warning.
I really cannot wait to play this game. I can’t believe it’s only $23.
Thrashing Bebop & Rocksteady never gets old. I remember Slash in Turtles 4 being ones of the hardest in the series due to his being able to block and a deadly flying spike attack.
Martin li Slash is real easy in this one
Im suprised how i didnt even recognise Rahzar and Tokka in Shredder's Revenge but still all games of TMNT are amazing and they all gonna be in Cowabunga Collection
in hyperstone heist definitely was general Traag, i remember it.
I had a feeling you had left a few bosses out, and then at the end when you left out Super Shredder from TMNT 3 The Manhattan Project, I knew I was right.
1:10 Rocksteady and Bebop
3:10 groundchuck and dirtbag
5:55 Rahzer and Tokka
This new turtles game hits nostalgia hard. This also kinda reminds me of sega genesis style games.. love it
You have to give it up to all the teams that did these games... the Bosses looked good throughout the years.
I appreciate the boss theme for Shredder's Revenge being an arrangement of the Turtles in Time theme.
Tmnt arcade ,Tmnt in time arcade , Tmnt Revenge Shredder colecction perfect
I remember playing like a lot arcade game on automats as a kid.
Also rat king boss howerthing was a nice reference to old game.
The hyperstone heist was one of the best games of all time
General Traag an Krang were also in Back from the Sewers. And Super Shredder was in Manhattan Project
Turtles in Time music stills amazing to this day
