Don't be ashamed of getting emotional over this movie. It's hard not to. I saw this in theaters twice, and that ending had me in my feelings both times.
This is my favorite film of all time. So much so that I have a tattoo for the symbol. It will always be a part of my childhood. That last quote by Gordon still gets me teary, even as an adult.
Heath Ledger was absolutely *amazing* in this movie. I remember hearing about him locking himself up in a motel room for 30 days and keeping a diary to prepare himself for the role and was dumbfounded by his commitment to the craft. I also remember hearing about his death shortly after and how sad it was to have lost such a great talent at so young an age.
He improvised with Maggie. She had no idea he was gonna touch her or hold the knife to her like that. Her looking away with tears was her looking towards others for help to stop it because she was so uncomfortable.

This was a generation defining film. The marketing campaign was one of the more memorable ones I’ve seen in my life time. “I believe in Harvey Dent” mock campaign flyers are what marked the months/weeks/days leading up to its release. To help illustrate, I arrived at the IMAX on the midnight screening two hours early thinking I’d get a decent pick of seats. When I got to the IMAX entrance, all the doors were open and the lobby was empty. When I walked in, over half the theater was full. This was before it had assigned seating. I was still glad I got there two hours early, but bummed I had to sit in the front half of the theater. I also remember when Joker said the line “I think you and I are destined to do this forever” and getting a slight shiver because Heath Ledger had just recently passed away. Time will show this film to be objective good as opposed to subjectively good. It’s already ingrained in pop culture.
Oh yeah it was sad that joker couldn't be in the series anymore after Heath's death. What I love about watching The Dark Knight now as an adult is taking notice about the most minute intricacies in direction and acting. And I have been very fortunate to be working in the film and television industry here in Chicago and hearing the stories from the crew that worked this masterpiece just adds a level of nuance and appreciation for this film. And it wasn't true, Heath knew when to turn it off and every single person I met and worked with that worked with him shared so many beautiful stories about him on set. And it breaks my heart all over again with how much of a beautiful soul the world lost.
I love Jack Nicholson's Joker, But to me, Heath Ledger's Joker just gives the creeps with the way he talks to people, playing with your mind by telling his stories even really making you feel like this man is not normal and that Batman needs save us from this crazy guy because he is not ''crazy'', Fantastic reaction Centane.
I absolutely love the trilogy, but the 2nd movie is far the best one. And the way you react is totally logical and makes this video even more unique. Greetings from Germany
This entire trilogy is a masterpiece of filmmaking in general. Your reaction to The Dark Knight is why I bring it up so often to my Film students, and I'm so excited for you to see the finale (Which I highly regard as the best ending to a trilogy of all-time for many reasons)!
Gosh, they got you hook, line, and sinker! It’s a fantastic movie! Glad you got so invested! There’s a quote that goes something like, “We cry at the theater not when something is sad, but when something is more beautiful than we anticipated”. Perhaps that’s where those tears came from! It’s a very powerful movie!
Something to try when you eat tomatoes. A lot of people put salt on tomatoes but if you really wanna bring out a tomatoes flavor sprinkle a little sugar on them instead of salt. Tomatoes are acidic so sweet works better than bitter to bring out flavor.
i like that your reactions are honest. not over-the-top, yelling screaming, crying at everything. just following the dialogue, seeming disturbed by the joker's antics, and just focusing on the story. great movie. definitely a timeless masterpiece that will be enjoyed for a long time
I was crying too, not because it was sad, but because it was so beautiful in its perfection... the 2 main points where I teared up at this was when they revealed the scarred side of Harvey's coin and you knew he had just become Two-Face, and then Gordon's short monologue at the end. Just perfect filmmaking.
Fun fact: the truck flip was shot in a multi-camera setup with, iirc, all four of the IMAX cameras that existed in the whole world at the time. The truck landed on one of them.
A silent gaurdian, A watchful protector," A DARK KNIGHT " one of most epic Lines of cinema ever. The last lines of the movie sums up the whole movie in a way.
When I was watching this in the theater I am not sure I breathed for the last half of the film. I have been a long time fan of Batman for some time. The main thought that went through my head was finally a batman and Joker on film that is accurate. I loved this and am glade you liked it as well.
You REALLY appreciated the movie, and that WAS apparent in your expressions. Really enjoyed watching your reaction. I've seen many reactors do this movie, but you really appreciated it.
Heath makes me forget he’s acting. I see the Joker. His makeup, this facial expressions, this gestures - he’s GOAT. I love him and may he rest in peace.
This film takes several views to get everything that was done in it. It's great and I love it. Also the sad news of Kevin Conroy passing broke my heart. He was the longest playing Batman ever. Over 30 years of voicing Batman in cartoons and games. He finally got to play Bruce Wayne in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover in the Arrowverse.
I am about 30 mins behind in the premiere. And first off, the countdown to premiere graphics are beautiful. And this is one of my fave movies, Not just superhero movies. Iconic. Heath was amazing.
To this day I hold this movie in my top 3 all time. It's almost a perfect movie 🎬 . Your reactions are brilliant. I can't wait until you watch dark night rises.
Heath, Jack Nicholson, and Mark Hamill all brought together the perfect aspects of the Joker. Heath had the seriousness, Jack the comic book essence, and Mark the PERFECT voice. You should consider watching the 1989 movie, as well as the animated Batman series. Many consider the original animated Batman series run as some of the best Batman ever made, written or otherwise.
Awesome reaction, Kamilla. I'm happy to see you're watching and enjoying the "Dark Knight" trilogy. Chris Nolan and everyone else involved in the making of this did an amazing job with these movies. It's no wonder you were crying at the end, TDK is so well written and brilliantly acted. It's an emotional roller coaster ride from the beginning to the end. Looking forward to your reaction to "The Dark Knight Rises"! Much love and greetings from Germany

I saw this opening night on my birthday. As a lifelong Batman fan, believe when I tell you they nailed Batman so well that I stood up and started clapping, then the entire theater followed. Best birthday present of my life.
Thank you for having some of the most genuine, and I do mean it, genuinie reactions on this platform. Some just fake it, and you can tell. But you, you're just watching the film, and that's what makes it a fantastic watch along.
Fun fact: the scene where the Joker starts clapping his hands after gordon finds out he is now the commissioner was improvised by ledger on the spot and Nolan liked it so much they left it in the final cut of the film.
The music especially just amplifies everything love it & rip to Kevin Conroy the best Batman we ever had & he was a great man so humble & sweet. Dc animated is peak but this movie is up there
Also, Kevin Conroy who voices Bruce Wayne aka Batman from both Batman the Animated Series and the Batman Arkham DC games died yesterday at age 66 from cancer which was my first DC cartoon introduction to Batman which is Kevin Conroy before the 1940s Superman cartoon shorts by Max Flaischer
As much as I love Ledger, the final ten minutes of this movie and the stand-off between Dent, Batman, and Gordon is probably among the best ten minutes in cinema of the entire 2000s. The pain in Harvey's voice at how much he has lost is just phenomenal acting by Eckhart, and the fear in Gordon is perfection from Oldman. And the culmination in the final moments with the montage, with Alfred burning the letter and Batman taking the blame for Dent's crimes, is just perfect writing. Because in the end Batman's entire purpose has been to bring hope back to Gotham and save it from itself.
I enjoyed your comment. As a tidbit, I think you’d appreciate knowing if you don’t already that Nolan meant for the title The Dark Knight to apply to Harvey equally as to Batman. Remember Harvey is dubbed Gotham’s White Knight at the beginning of the movie but by the end, he’s no longer the White Knight but…The Dark Knight. I always knew it was very intentional for Nolan to be the first and only Director of the live action iterations to depart from having Batman in the title. It was really interesting when I found out why.
This is the best reaction to the Dark Knight on RUclips. You got emotional at the end because of the possibility that the kid could get hurt and because you care about batman and the sacrifice he's making
hi, glad u loved this movie, for me its still the greatest Comic Book Movie ever made..Still my favourite, Heath Ledger was phenomenal...i liked ur reaction and u are also very beautiful too and very healthy i think as ur the first person i ever saw on a reaction video eating tomatoes....Much luv from Ireland💚
I haven'T watched this movie for a long time but seeing this video and your reaction to it - this movie is still top notch and so intense. Don't be ashamed for your emotional reactions. See it as something good. As a sign aof great empathy and sensitivity you have in you.
Literally there's only one thing that can make me cry and that's when the best parts of our human spirit is depicted. Ending of Schindler's List "one more person", Doss "help me save one more", Portia "the quality of mercy" (that just got tears going thinking about it) etc. I don't think Batman would get me there but I bet that's why you were crying, "because he can take it". "On your left" did get me.
Gordon's little speech at the end about Batman being the hero Gotham deserves and how he's a dark knight... man. Everytime I see it I cry. The pure will of Batman to become the most hated person in the world, because he knows it will benefit the city he loves. Wow. And Kevin Conroy's passing made it even worse today. Usually I'll shed a tear or two, but this time around I wept for like 30 seconds straight.
Christopher Nolan is a genius. There's no debate about it. He made superheroes cool again and if he's ever asked to come back for another, God help us all...
I like that there's a close up of her reaction as if the scene she's watching is so iconic we don't even need to watch it again to know what she's reacting to.
24:42 Is the exact reason I love Heath's version of the Joker, just the laughing and the weird gibbering noises he makes are enough to kill me all the time.
Nolan made the Batman I had always wanted. After the 80s we were thirsting for a Dark Knight and this was it. The Batman stories are just so diverse with so man different takes. I think it is funny that today we all think Batman does not pick up a gun but in most of the original comics he carried a side arm and shot people. That view really did not change until the 60s. The biggest call to the comics in this show was the Joker's origin story always changing. Throughout the years because of some early story mistakes every new writer was able to recycle the Joker's origin or write a complete new one. They kept doing this for the character to make him seem more crazy over time. He never told the same story so there have always been 4 or 5 origin stories for the Joker. Ledger's Joker was just great. Worth the Oscar.
When looking "after the 80s" did you miss the very remarkable Tim Burton-directed Batman of 1989 and a fantastic Joker as portrayed by consistently excellent actor Jack Nicholson? A lot of people who are huge on Nolan's movies seem to have not seen the competing movie and so can't really compare them that well. I don't know if that's the case with you (which is why I ask), but it is the case with many of the intense fans of Nolan's trilogy.
@@nochannel1q2321 That was a much different time. When it came out it was great but Burton made a comic book movie with its own art style. What Nolan did was create a Batman that looks and feels like it is in real life. Two completely different art styles but to me the Nolan version captured what was the growing up of comic movies. Burton's Batman was fun and dark but looked and felt more like the pages of a comic on screen. Not what comic movies grew up to be during the 2000s.
I watched this at 6 in the morning after a nightshift...I was absolutely knackered....by the end of the movie I was absolutely wide awake and jacked up...then I watched it again because I couldn't believe how good it was...great performances all round ... awesome film
I think that what breaks the heart in this movies is not the big dramatic things but the small steps away from humanity. the slow realization of the total humanic cost of winning over the Joker. that even being the one in the end with the banner of victory is empty. leaving you on the choise of one good criminal and one weak civilian. A "thank goodness" rather than a win.
You know how you can stop batman from sneaking away in the middle of a conversation. Don't stop the cameras, keep filming. He uses the magic of editing to walk away while the cameras aren't rolling.
One of my favorite movies. And as much as Heath Ledger deserved Oscar for this one, his best role (in my opinion) is in The Four Feathers, which I would definitely recommend if you haven't watched it yet.
Glad you loved the movie. It's a special one. I personally was never scared of the joker, I actually fell madly in love with him the first time I saw this movie. Lol
That scene with Rachel and Joker at the party was improvised by Heath Ledger. It wasn't in the script for him to grab Maggie Gyllenhaal face like that. Luckily she ran with it and it added to the surprised terror in her performance.

Eric Roberts who played Salvatore Maroni in this movie has also played The Master in Doctor Who - The TV movie from 1996 with Paul McGann
Loving your reactions to the "Nolan Trilogy" which, IMO, is the the best comic-book trilogy ever.
It's okay. I cry at the end too, every time.
Actually Adam West was Batman much longer. From Batman ‘66 to Batman vs. Two-Face in 2017 approximately 50 years.
It's a normal reaction to be overwhelmed at the end of this. This movie has so many iconic lines.
Fabulous reaction! Health Ledger as the Joker is other worldly. 💯🔥
Heath, Jack Nicholson, and Mark Hamill all brought together the perfect aspects of the Joker. Heath had the seriousness, Jack the comic book essence, and Mark the PERFECT voice. You should consider watching the 1989 movie, as well as the animated Batman series. Many consider the original animated Batman series run as some of the best Batman ever made, written or otherwise.
this movie is amazing i absolutly love it with my life. i love the story but on top of all, i love Heath and his groundbracking preformance!
Always tears 😭 n the end every time i see those words!a silent guardian a watchfull protector a dark knight
i started watching a bunch of your vids and its so nice to see "younger" people watching the movies i loved 10/15 years ago. You have also a talent for editing :D i can rewatch 2h+ movies in 40 min. with your reaction vids. I also get the feeling that Hollywood and co. dont do movies like this one anymore
love it, keep it up!
That first Joker reveal was absolutely INSANE to watch in a cinema..! o.O
I know some ppl want constant inauthentic 😆😭😤😱reactions from their reactors, but I love seeing that you're genuinely engrossed :)
The music especially just amplifies everything love it & rip to Kevin Conroy the best Batman we ever had & he was a great man so humble & sweet. Dc animated is peak but this movie is up there
Cannot wait to see the Dark Knight Rises reaction… been eagerly awaiting for days 😂😂😂
-Conroy: "I'm Batman"
-Bale: "No, I'm Batman"
-Pattinson: "No, I'm Batman"
-West: "I'm Batman, and so is my wife"
-Keaton: "No, I'm Batman"
-Kilmer: "No, I'm Batman"
-Clooney: "No, I'm Ba...."
-Kilmer:"Shut up, George. Nobody likes you"
-Conroy: "Yeah, you suck, man"
-Bale: "Any Ice puns you wanna share with the class, you dork?"
-Clooney: "Screw you, guys" (Runaway in tears)
One of the best superhero films of all time. Simply because it hits all the right action beats for a superhero genre.
he's a silent guardian , a watchful protector A DARK KNIGHT
Halfway to 42! The answer to life, the universe, and everything:)
Loved your reaction! Heath Ledger was outstanding in this film, simply no words.
“Now that you are old enough to drink we thought that the best thing for you was a car.” -Good Will Hunting
U're not the only one who got that emotional to the end of this movie, trust me. That movie is just too powerful!
Also, Kevin Conroy who voices Bruce Wayne aka Batman from both Batman the Animated Series and the Batman Arkham DC games died yesterday at age 66 from cancer which was my first DC cartoon introduction to Batman which is Kevin Conroy before the 1940s Superman cartoon shorts by Max Flaischer
this movie is the greatest superhero of all time because, I watched this when I was little, and this movie begins the origin of batman and TwoFace
This is my favorite Batman Movie and Heath Ledger performance as the Joker was brilliant 👏👏👏
Probably one of the greatest endings to a film ever
This movie is so good, the next one is on par with it in my opinion. Cannot wait to see your reaction to all that happens in that one!
hi, glad u loved this movie, for me its still the greatest Comic Book Movie ever made..Still my favourite, Heath Ledger was phenomenal...i liked ur reaction and u are also very beautiful too and very healthy i think as ur the first person i ever saw on a reaction video eating tomatoes....Much luv from Ireland💚
@@shinrapresident7010 He is indeed a misguided religious fanatic but he is not selfish.
🤣
Christopher Nolan is a genius. There's no debate about it. He made superheroes cool again and if he's ever asked to come back for another, God help us all...
I like that there's a close up of her reaction as if the scene she's watching is so iconic we don't even need to watch it again to know what she's reacting to.
Oldmans speech at the end with the score in the background gets me every time. Great reaction 👍
Nolan and his all star casting took this movie to another level
24:42 Is the exact reason I love Heath's version of the Joker, just the laughing and the weird gibbering noises he makes are enough to kill me all the time.
Happy Birthday, always enjoy your reaction 🤠
Great work as always Kamilla!
this girl is getting more beautiful day by day god .
Yeah, it was a good nod to the Killing Joke.
I'm just thrilled you're finally getting to experience this once in a lifetime dark film!!
As children we praised heroes
As adults we understood villains
One of my most favourite comic book movie. I visited cinema three times...Heath Ledger is absolute brilliant Joker.
It's nearly a sin that no one has mentioned, "Mask of the Phantasm."
Happy Birthday, Kamilla!
He uses the magic of editing to walk away while the cameras aren't rolling.
greatest superhero movie of all time imo
One of my favorite movies. And as much as Heath Ledger deserved Oscar for this one, his best role (in my opinion) is in The Four Feathers, which I would definitely recommend if you haven't watched it yet.
The Four Feathers is so underrated, glad you suggested it. Not many people have seen it
Glad you loved the movie. It's a special one. I personally was never scared of the joker, I actually fell madly in love with him the first time I saw this movie. Lol
Be careful falling for those "bad boys"!
Rest in Peace Kevin Conroy - Ultimate Batman's Voice
That scene with Rachel and Joker at the party was improvised by Heath Ledger. It wasn't in the script for him to grab Maggie Gyllenhaal face like that. Luckily she ran with it and it added to the surprised terror in her performance.
Here before a multi-billion corporation tries to block a short reaction to a 14yr old film.
