yeah alot of people say its cheesy but it's such a comfort movie! it's funny, it can be emotional, the characters were fun, and it's just so classic! so happy you watched this, it's so much fun seeing people see this for the first time!
I hadn't watched this film before seeing your reaction but now I get why it's so popular. It looks like the actors who played the witches had an absolute blast filming it.
hocus pocus is my favourite movie of all time. i was obsessed with it as a kid and was obsessed with witches bc of it and dressed up as a witch every halloween as a kid. and I still love it so much
10:25 He got involuntarily uprooted by the two people in the world who are supposed to love him more than anybody else. He has every reason to be a crab. (Though he shouldn't take it out on his sister.)
The cat actually was Salem. Binx was a mix of real cats, early CGI effects, and animatronics. The animatronics and some of the cats were later used as Salem in the 1996-2003 series "Sabrina the Teenage Witch."
Originally Steven Spielberg was going to direct the film but was too busy working on JURASSIC PARK, which ironically, opened up 2 weeks before the release date of Hocus Pocus.
Technically there’s two Salems. Salem Town and Salem Village. I believe the trials happened in Salem Town. As for the trails themselves…..most of them weren’t actual witches it was all over land. If you had a lot of fertile land but were accused of witchcraft or anything impure….you’d lose your land, and be killed.
The actor & actress who played the Devil & his wife are Garry Marshall & his sister Penny Marshall, who are best known for being the executive producer of the sitcom Laverne & Shirley (Garry) & for playing character Laverne DeFazio (Penny) on the same show.
Fun choice for Halloweenie movies. Now get on some serious horror movies. Try to look for Carrie (1976) a masterpiece. Unforgettable movie. All in good fun cheers!!
Another fun, not too scary Halloween type movie is "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken", starring Don Knotts. I'm sure you're too young to know who Don Knotts was, but he was a very funny actor who is most known for playing the part of Barney Fife on "The Andy Griffith Show" and Mr. Furley in the later seasons of "Three's Company". It's a very fun movie. It is from 1966.
I grew up with this movie and watched it a lot on video as a kid. I also own it now on DVD haha. I love how they all play their characters here and all the actors do the comedy well. There is a second movie that came out last year but honostly nothing compares to the original even though the second one to me wasn't that bad. Seeing Bett Middler sing is always a treat and had no idea Jessica Parker could sing until I saw this movie. By the way side note if you know the original NCIA tv show and watched it like I do as a fan the actor of Zachary Banks as a human acts in NCIS as agent McGee he is just a teen here and it's cute to see him like that. Any way I love this movie so much and grate reaction as well.
I feel very lucky and privileged being a 90s kid to have been able to grow up watching this film. 90s films were such a golden era of films imo and it's displayed so well in Hocus Pocus! Such a fun, feel good Halloween film that you can tell had a lot of hard work put into it. I'm so glad you got to appreciate it and that it gave you a nice joyful break from the heavies. Magic is real! ✨🐈⬛🪦 🎃
The best feel good Halloween movie that I know that has a better musical and romance would be a movie called the midnight hour❤ and it's from the year 1985, but it is a ABC special made-for-tv..❤🎉
You should also checkout Newsies (1992) when you checkout Disney films. It’s a musical based on the Newspaper Boys strike in 1899 in New York City. Stars an 18 year old Christian Bale, Bill Pullman, Robert DuVall, and Ann-Margaret.
Welcome to the greatest childhood Halloween movie I ever I watch every year no matter what so funny so good Sarah Jessica Parker was so good in this role❤ such a funny movie parts were so good parts were so dark some parts were scary Good mix of everything ❤ The first Hocus pocus I've been watching it since I was 14! Watched it on accident on Disney channel back then❤ The second movie is okay it's not the greatest but it's an interesting plot and there's an interesting plot twist❤ I'm glad you enjoyed the movie it's a wild ride 😂❤
If you watch closely to like right after they kill Emily, pay attention to her sitting in the chair….she ended up moving around a bit because she wasn’t still a kid when they filmed this so it was probably hard for her to sit still. I still don’t know how the directors didn’t notice, unless they did but didn’t feel like cutting it from the scene. As for why Emily was just sitting there…..she was in a trance put on her by Sarah Sanderson, so she was “conscious” meaning awake, but not fully aware as to what was going on. For the trials themselves….there were two Salems at the time that combined into one: Salem Town and Salem Village, the trials happened in Salem Town but half of them weren’t witches, it was mainly only land. If you owned a lot of fertile land but you were accused of witchcraft or anything impure due to religious standards….you’d lose your land and you were hanged. In terms of Binx….even though it’s a Disney movie so of course magic would bring him back to life, cats in general have like 8 lives so he would’ve came back to life either way until they killed the sisters. I feel like so many people forget that “cats have 8 lives” but when watching Hocus Pocus.
Three facts: 1.) This movie is the legit reason why I love Bette Midler so much. 2.) I love Doug Jones as Billy Butcherson. He also played Abe Sapien in Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army. 3.) The physical actor who played Thackery Binx in this movie Sean Murray, currently plays Special Agent Timothy McGee on the original NCIS series. Side note: One year as a kid, I went trick-or-treating and got a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers wallet in my goody bag.
Since you're doing older Halloween themed movies, you could watch the Scooby Doo movie from 2002. It has some spooky moments but it's mostly a fun comedy.

"Hey it may take me a couple of tries but I don't think that'd be a problem"!
It took me 28 years to get that reference/joke!
lol

This is one of my comfort Halloween movies 🎃

Another good “feel good” movie for Halloween is Casper.
My favorite halloween movie because of nostalgia!
Also, stunning as usual 😍
hocus pocus is my favourite movie of all time. i was obsessed with it as a kid and was obsessed with witches bc of it and dressed up as a witch every halloween as a kid. and I still love it so much
One of my favorite October movies before halloween
Absolutely. Classic.
I remember seeing Hocus Pocus VHS in my Easter basket when i found it. My older bro had Casper in his. I love Casper

Hocus Pocus is just the prequel where Thackery Binx became Salem.
Originally Steven Spielberg was going to direct the film but was too busy working on JURASSIC PARK, which ironically, opened up 2 weeks before the release date of Hocus Pocus.
That’s unfortunate timing. Jurassic Park could have been a success if Hocus Pocus hadn’t been released.
One of my favorite Halloween films. I’ve watched it every year since I was like 5 years old
i am SO GLAD you watched this movie! 😁 it was great you had fun 🙂 WE had the MOST FUN watching YOU! 👍☺
finally a movie that has Kamilla laughing and feeling joy 🎉🎉
8:33 “Very cool. Did you get it? Because ice is cool” Cute! 🙂
This is actually in Salem Massachusetts where the real witch trials took place
And that is how Thackery Binx became Salem on Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Technically there’s two Salems. Salem Town and Salem Village. I believe the trials happened in Salem Town. As for the trails themselves…..most of them weren’t actual witches it was all over land. For me, it just isn't Halloween without chocolate eyeballs & Hocus Pocus.
Great movie for Halloween! I just got done watching it with you on Patreon.
fun fact: one of my middle school teachers plays an extra in this! he's in the scene when they go to the school in the beginning of the movie
That might be the first actual "fun fact" comment I've ever seen on RUclips. Very cool.
Hocus Pocus is the greatest movie of all time! My favorite line from Dani telling Allison that Max likes Yabbos 😂
The actor & actress who played the Devil & his wife are Garry Marshall & his sister Penny Marshall, who are best known for being the executive producer of the sitcom Laverne & Shirley (Garry) & for playing character Laverne DeFazio (Penny) on the same show.
thackery binx! coolest cat name ever
This movie is So much fun, so Enjoy and have a Nice Weekend❣️

Love it so much! Thank you Kamilla for watching Hocus Pocus!
These old Halloween Disney movies were so good. Gotta watch Halloween town those were pretty good too.
That's a lot of fun, isn't it? A keeper! Thanks for sharing this one.
Cute movie seems you had fun watching, it may be too late to react but a not scary movie is "Spaced Invaders"
Another fun, not too scary Halloween type movie is "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken", starring Don Knotts. I highly suggest the 2007 movie Stardust, if you have not already seen it. Great cast and super-fun story.
Erutan did a now-classic, extended version of "Come Little Children". Definitely worth a listen!
Check out " Saw " .... the first one ..... if you haven't already
20:11 ..."Talking about losing his mind"... Badum, tss...
You should watch Halloweentown as well if you enjoy these more chill and family friendly Halloween movies. Casper is good as well.
Hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
There is an after credits scene in this movie. Rare for the time...
Salem's lot was a town actually called Jerusalem's lot in Maine this is Salem in Massachusetts
You should also checkout Newsies (1992) when you checkout Disney films. It’s a musical based on the Newspaper Boys strike in 1899 in New York City. Stars an 18 year old Christian Bale, Bill Pullman, Robert DuVall, and Ann-Margaret.

Interesting observation!
Emily moved on the chair because she wasn't directly dead after the witches sucked out her youth, she died a few minutes later of old age
Cats have 9 lives
I've never really liked this movie, but it is one of my wife's favorites, so I think I'm in the minority. 🙂
I like watching this girl, she's beautiful and fun to watch movies with 😊
You should do a reaction to Salem's lot. It's about an hour from my location. Nice place.✌️❤️🇺🇸
Cute and adorable little lady ✌️❤️🇺🇸
if you wanted feel good movies Halloweentown would be the best bet

Ahh yes, the early nineties and referring to a woman’s chest as yabos.
