Hello,
this is the first video of my channel and my first video documented restoration.
The very dirty and slightly rusted oil lamp belongs to my friend.
He got the lamp from the owner of an irish pub, in which it was part of the decoration.
The lamp was bought and produced in the 50s in former Czechoslovakia.

This lamp was produced as a cheap product and was not of high quality initially. After the restoration, it has become of higher quality than ever before.

Enjoyed your first video, I think you got off to a great start. I suppose I've been watching backwards but have enjoyed them all. I couldn't believe it when all the cigarette, pipe and stogie smoke came off with the washing. Turned out very well. Great work!

8:51 Uh oh, he contaminated the bluing liquid by dipping the brush into the bottle.
Better use the whole bottle since the bluing liquid will slowly lose its effectiveness.
Always pour out bluing into a bowl from the bottle and never let any metal touch it in the bottle.

And your sharing of a little bit about the lamps providence such as about the cigarette smoke. My request is to find as many different items as possible, not just concentrate on a few items over and over. Branch out into other areas when possible. Fantastic job!

AT FIRST WHEN I SAW YOU USING THE BLACK PAINT MARKER FOR THE LETTERING I WAS NOT TOO HAPPY BUT IT ACTUALLY TURNED OUT PRETTY DAMN NICE. I THINK WHITE WOULD HAVE LOOKED GREAT TOO BUT EITHER WAY THE WHOLE PROJECT TURNED OUT GREAT.
Yes I used the black one instead of the white, because I didn't want to introduce a third color. But you might be right.
@@NTRprojects ANOTHER THING I WAS WONDERING, HAVE YOU EVER TRIED USING A SPONGE TO DAB THE PAINT ON FOR THE FORGED LETTERING? WONDERING HOW WELL THAT WOULD WORK. IVE NEVER DONE ANY RESTORATIONS BUT HAVE WATCHED COUNTLESS VIDEOS AND WAS ALWAYS CURIOUS IF THAT WOULD WORK WELL OR NOT. OPINION?
@@nickblakemore3643 I think that could work if you use a very thick sponge, that is not to soft, so it doesn't go around the edges to easy. Do you know what I mean?
I'm curious about why you didn't highlight the lettering on top of the chimney and the wonderful little design on the fill cap?
Question: why is it ok to have paint chips in the sandblaster, but not some dirt?

Just a suggestion I’ve seen others do. When bending something that is freshly painted, put masking tape on the tips of your pliers. From 🇨🇦
