    I did indeed learn something, how to take the burner/wick control thing apart. A tip for future rust removal, try some phosphoric acid. It will turn light rust to gray/black iron-phosphate and stops further rusting. The gray/black surface is also a good primer for paint. Nice job.

      I'm glad to be helpful! Thank you. Phosphoric acid is indeed a good thing, I've been looking to buy some.

    Nice work! But IMHO you're wasting too much putty. Try to make some thin layers instead of one thick and also try to use rubber spatules.

    I would have used an epoxy paint, something really strong.

      @@King_TuTT that seems reasonable . Luckily my paint wasn't too bad but epoxy paint is definitely stronger

    Just one question. Why did you need to virtually destroy this vintage masterpiece ?

    • @soul_iron_restoration
      @soul_iron_restoration  Месяц назад

      That is really a matter of preference. I gave the lamp another life, made it look like it used to when it was new. Yes, for some it looks good uncleaned and rusty but this channel is about restoration. Also, this model is wide spread here so no rarities were manipulated.
