    excellent work on old junk! i sometimes wonder why appliances like this aren't still available - cabins, cottages, caravans? it can't all be propane.

      Thank you! Yes, propane has replaced kerosene. Maybe because kerosene gives more carbon dioxide and less heat. But for the atmosphere, it's interesting to kindle something like this sometimes.

    This is my first view of your work. I love turning old useless things back into working, useful things! I like to fix things too, but none of mine compare to this one thing. Bravo! Now, just make sure you have ventilation in the room with it. When kerosene burns it creates carbon monoxide, a deadly odourless gas! But, you knew that! Lovely job!

      Thank you! The main thing in restoration is experience. Work, gain experience and accumulate it. Over time, the result will please you. You are absolutely right about carbon monoxide. Fortunately, I have ventilation in my workshop

      @@liviostocco1745 Sorry, but this is a myth. German, Austrian, American things were strong and high-quality, but definitely not Soviet. In this particular kerosene stove, the casting quality is simply terrible. The bottom is all in the tunnels. Defectiveness was a mandatory attribute of Soviet products. And things were usually very simple and cheap because people were poor. If there was anything of quality, it was the raw materials of metals

    Excellent job on the restoration.
    Regarding the video, your videography is excellent, but I suggest speeding it up a bit. I watched it at 1.75X speed and it was still very clear and watchable. It could just be me, though.

      So I also sometimes use this RUclips option. Fast editing is a completely different genre. I strive to create an atmosphere of peace and comfort in my videos. Rushed editing can kill this atmosphere. Your suggestion is good for shorts and maybe I'll give it a try someday. Thank you for your comment. Your opinion is really valuable to me. Let's see, if at least a few more people make a similar offer, then I will have to take it into account.

      @@Dr.Pepperovsky Як паливо крім керосину можна використовувати гарної якості солярку ( Євро дизель, не плутати з Біодизелем), від неї запаху і кіптяви навіть менше, ніж від керосину

    They are perfect for slow cooking. Most people used them in a time there was no gas .. just a coal fierd stove for the heavy backing etc.
    Petroleum was cheaper.

      Yes, you are right, slow cooking is its specialty. It is better to stew meat on such a kerosene stove than to cook a steak.

    I have to question the age of this heater. A half century ago was 1974, and this design looks much older than that. Just saying

      Yes, you are right. This specimen is 64 years old. When I named the video, I meant its approximate age. Judging by the comment of one of my viewers who collects such kerosene stoves, this model was produced from 1920 to 1960

      Вітаю! Фірма "Presto". Акриловий грунт. Та конкретно у цій реставрації я ніби не грунтував нічого. Корпус пофарбований фарбою для титанових дисків. Фірму треба глянути. А пальники жаростійкою фарбою.

      @@Dr.Pepperovsky Okay. I have a lot of Soviet ones in my collection, including the ones in your video (1920-1960s). They are all original, without any surface paint. Control windows made of multilayer thin, flexible mica plates.
      In our family, we used a kerosene stove until 1974, since there were constant power outages, and gas was not yet supplied to the houses. Unlike Gasoline Stoves (under pressure), heating something on a kerosene stove, let alone cooking, was very problematic and time-consuming.

      @@dementevigor Yes, you are right when you say that cooking something on a kerosene stove is just a kind of punishment. But you surprised me with the paint because I have three kerosene stoves like this one and all three are covered in the same silver paint. One of the specimens I have is brand new, but only the lower part is there, so it is also painted.

      @@Dr.Pepperovsky I looked at mine carefully: yes, indeed, some of the cases are painted with aluminum-based paint.
      But older products, from the 1920s-1940s, are not.
