This is incredible. I was looking at tearing up an entire room just to fix one board and your video just showed me how to solve my problem in 30 minutes. You're amazing!
@FloorsbySouthernBoys Thank you for the videos! This is exactly the type of guidance I needed to fix the chip in my vinyl plank flooring. You've definitely earned a new follower in me! I do have a few questions though. I saw that you created a very similar guide to this one back in 2021, but with just one vinyl plank rather than 3. There were a few other differences as well. Some of the questions are related to the reasoning behind those changes. I'm not trying to call into question your knowledge or skill. I only wish to better understand what I'm doing. Here's a link to the previous video, in case you don't recall or just don't want to search for it. ruclips.net/video/enTXWdpEl_c/видео.htmlsi=VdYYcYyJIJcgK43S 1. You specifically mentioned only applying glue to the 3 edges of the planks that are already installed and not to the new plank being installed in the previous video. This time you applied the glue to 2 of the edges of the planks already installed and then to 1 edge on the new plank. Is there a reason for this change or does it not really matter that much? 2. Previously, you did a dry fit with the new plank before gluing it in, but this time you didn't. Why not? 3. Related to the dry fit, after placing the plank dry. You pulled it out without causing any damage. Why were you able to do this with the new plank, but not with the plank that was previously installed in that spot? 4. Is glue actually necessary or is it just added insurance? I suspect that it is and the reason why as well to question 3 may be related to the portions of the new piece that were cut out, but I wanted to check to make sure I understand. Thank you!
Saved me half a day on a repair! A refrigerator gouged the floor in the middle of a kitchen only pulled three planks out and it looks like it never happened!
Great video man I'm a 30 year man in this business, I cut mine different, but like your way better, thanks for helping me make my job a little bit easier 👍
I have a modular and they did a bad job at the marriage seam and it was bowing up bad. They left a 3 inch gap at the seam! This saved me so much time from ripping up half of my living room! Thank you!
I have 2 planks I need to replace due to slight water damage on my not even a month old floor! Gutted to say the least. I’ve watched a ton of repair videos now on how to do this without ripping up all the from the wall. Yours is easy to understand for a moderate DIYer like me. I’ve got a multi tool to make the cut. Wish me luck!
come on now Water won't hurt these tiles ! I put a one foot piece into a 5 gallon bucket of water and left it there for 4 weeks = no damage or expansion
This is one of the most fascinating and instructive video's I've ever seen. I need to do similar repairs and was always wondering how it could be done. The manipulation he does to the planks looks difficult for a noob like me, but at least I can see how he's going about it. The trimming and use of Glue is very innovative.
Dood! You got a new subscriber. I have several that are buckling, they got tight on a wall and are now permanently deformed. I am doing this surgery tomorrow. Very grateful that you took the time to make this video. Everyone shows how to remove and replace one not a section and this is easier to follow and more clear. Nice job.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience! I only need to change a couple of those that my dog ruined. It took me 3 videos to watch before I found yours. Thanks again!

It’s actually really easy to replace an appliance, don’t take long at all and if you know how to do, it is rather simply because it’s such an easy product to work with
You made a great point at the end about super glue not setting up until smashed down. Good idea to use the gel super glue. Works awesome with how you just demonstrated
Thank you for this video! I used the company 50 floor to install my vinyl flooring and multiple planks in my kitchen are coming up cause they did a crap job. A lot of the planks are cracked already and pieces breaking off so I’m just gonna pull the rest of the plank off and should be good to install the new pieces after I make my modifications
Thanks for showing me how to replace the broken boards in my home. I watched quite a few other videos on this and you gave some very helpful tips that other people didn't share especially the drilling of the corners. I love any tips that save me from unnecessary issues 😅. My boards are all cracked basically in a straight line where the renovation company removed the tile from one side and attempted to make it even. Any ideas on how I can avoid spending thousands of dollars to rip it out and try again?
You can take out about 5 feet of your vinyl plank, flooring and feather or float the floor down from the top of the tile down to the bear floor using a floor patch make a very gradual ramp with floor patch and it will not affect your newly installed vinyl plank it will need to be about 5 feet wide therefore, it will slope slowly enough to not damage or be noticeable

Alright, I used your video and replaced 4 vinyl planks that had a deep scratch from when my son moved a steel based chair. It looks amazing. Now I do have a question just today I had to tighten up gaps in the kitchen approx. 4 foot square area looked like a jig saw puzzle crooked from movement. The floor is 8 years old not happy with vinyl. However, by the time I was able to get the area back to new looking the last row I had to replace 2 planks since no matter what I did they would not move. At the end of it all I have a gap along the length of the planks approx 1/8 inch. What can I use to fill this gap the planks are a dark oak/brown Torlay color - Avalon and of course no longer able to purchase. Lucky I had 3 boxes left over. Can you recommend a gap filler - watched a lot on RUclips but not great results by most. Regards and Thank you fro the vid again.
Glad for who this worked out for but hasnt worked that way for me yet after two or three tries. Not sure if my floor is not tight enough or what but definitely is not just falling in there smh. Also cutting that edge straight without getting a sliver out of the top is nearly impossible. Maybe I need to tilt my knofe a little idk. This flooring hasnt been the best to work with and now bubbling under the flloring with the subfloor smh.
I see you have some kind of ply wood underneath. Mine does not have wood, it has some kind of barrier underneath and then the cement from the floor under that. Any idea what that is called?? The barrier I have under the planks and in between the planks and cement?? TIA
If I have a scuff in only one plank, do I need to remove 3 like in your video or can I just remove the one? If just removing one, would the installation be the same as the final plank in your video?
I have laminate planks and some of the joints swelled so I would have to remove multiple planks. I guess I can cut out a piece of flooring and take it to flooring store to see if they can match color but more importantly the locking channel needs to be comparable. I don’t know the manufacturer
Replaced a plank in my hallway today. And I learned builders do not leave replacement instructions or manufacturer info. Just a few extra planks. Yep grateful for that at least. Thank goodness for this video and a Dremel SM20. You definitely have skills with that utility knife.
My issue is this flooring was here when we bought the house 5 years ago and we can’t find this flooring to buy more to fix a few damaged pieces 😢 Not sure what the solution is for that.

We had Pergo LWP Duracraft flooring installed about 2yr ago over a cement slab. The installer did not level the cement slab in one section and the floor is bowing and beginning to split. I need to replace 2 or 3 planks. The planks are about 5 or 6 planks from the wall. Can I carefully pull up the planks from the wall until I reach the ones I wish to pull up, reinstall and replace? Or, should I cut them out the way you did? Also, how can I go about leveling a very small section of concrete? With your method how do you know when to cut the edges? Thanks
I believe I found a leveling option. As I mentioned its a very small area. - Henry 345 1 Qt. Pre-Mixed Patch and Level. Please let me know what you think.
If it is not far from the edge like you say, and also, you need to do some floor leveling, I probably would work from the wall over to the damaged area. That will give you plenty of room to do what kind of leveling you need and then place your planks back in
@@janthony1342 if it is gray and not white, you will be fine using it. Any of the white floor paint has a different base and it is not any good it will crack and crumble up and will not stick to your concrete.
Unfortunately after looking at this more closely, pulling up planks requires I pull up 5 or 6 rows that extend 10 or 12 feet, not too bad. The problem is, the first row has a section that extends under a baseboard hydronic heater enclosure. I would need to remove the heater top-back panel in order to lift the planks in the first row. Even doing this will not guarantee I will be able to lift the first row because noiseless element (tin) may be in the way. I think I’m back to focusing on removing three planks similar to how you did in this video. I will look at this more closely tomorrow.

Thank you so much!! I’ve watched a number of your videos!! Quick question, does this destroy the waterproof feature, since the locking creates the seal? Thank you!!!😊
I've been doing flooring warranty/repairs for MANY years. LVP... Laminate...EVP..... GARBAGE!!!!. When it fails,& it Will.....the manufacturer will ALWAYS, ALWAYS blame the installer even though it's CRAPPY product!!!!!
I will agree there are lots of bad products out there but if people will follow the manufacturers recommendations and guidelines on how to properly install these products they will last for a long time without failure. 99% of the people do not do that so therefore, you get the manufacturers blaming the Installer because it is their fault.
I agree most/some do not follow manufacturer on the installation... however, most of the time the manufacturer has requirements that are either dang near impossible (⅛" flatness elevation in 10 feet or something - just as example) or are contradictory in care instructions (one thing says steam mop is okay so long as not "held in place over 5 minutes" but elsewhere steam mops are NOT allowed).... so even IF installed correctly by professionals and all care and concerns followed (slab flat, thoroughly swept & vacuumed, leveled where needed, 6 mil plastic laid down, proper gap left around perimeter for expansion & contraction, etc) the product can/will STILL FAIL. Then, when an inspector comes out, they will find any reason to NOT blame the sub-par product but instead put the blame on the installer. A lot of the newer LVP products are garbage but the manufacturer wants to always shift blame to anyone and everyone else so as to not hurt their bottom line (the dollar).
Also, if customer causes damage by improperly caring for the LVP floor (using Fabuloso or steam mop, for example) and inspector comes out, they can (and have) blamed installer for it instead of admitting their product did not withstand regular use and care by the customer as it should've. Inspectors always side with the company and blame the installer to negate responsibility for a crap product. I see SO many times people ask "how should I take care of or clean this floor?" and wanna use any and every product out there like it's a standard tile or sheet vinyl, when they (the mfg) SHOULD include specific care instructions on the product boxes/packaging so as to NOT cause confusion.
This is incredible. I was looking at tearing up an entire room just to fix one board and your video just showed me how to solve my problem in 30 minutes. You're amazing!

@@JenniferF2882Wait, no Fabuloso?! Am I supposed to use Vinegar or something?
What product/brand do you recommend?
