It’s so refreshing to see people actually repair things on a budget rather than go out & replace the whole floor. It’s so hard to find videos like yours. We really need them.
This video was extremely helpful. I’m a new homeowner and our laundry room floor ripped when we were trying to install the dryer. I just followed your instructions and the patch turned out perfectly. You can’t even tell it’s there! Thanks so much for posting this!
Man I gotta Thank You for doing this video. Your headset worked just fine. You’ve given me the confidence to jump in on my own home vinyl repairs. Good job.
Just watched the furniture delivery guy damage flooring in my newly built house and I needed to see this because I had no idea what to do. I'm glad to see this is typical and can be fixed.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING IS HOW ITS DONE :) Very clever showing how to lay over the new VINYL on top of old area - place it accurately and then make the cut so both the new and old vinyl line up without gaps!
I am doing this the first time and have the new vinyl piece cut out just overlapping the old. I see you actually glued the new piece and than after it set you used a very sharp cutter to cut through both the new and old vinyl -- I anticipate making the cut will be the most challenging (keep it straight) to get it right the first time .. I am little nervous - but will give it a try :)
I’ve been looking all over RUclips for a video to show me how to fix my vinyl that a handyman messed up. I so so very glad I found you! Your videos are so easy and helpful. You have no idea how much we need your expertise. Thank you a Million, you have saved me a ton of money and lots of headaches. God bless you.
When you used the straight edge to cut . . I kept thinking "how does he know they are going to line up" . . Then I realized . . OH . . he's cutting BOTH pieces so they match and fit perfect !!! *Brilliant* . . i'm using that trick !
Finally an answer that makes sense to me as my question for watching this video and many was about the set up time for adhesive. I've been confused other people give between x and x time to work with it. But obviously everyone's floors are going to be of different absorbancy levels then there is humidity so those are all variables. Thanks to this video I get the best understanding of dryness/tackiness and what that will mean to adhesion. I am more confident now. 😊
I have that same floor from home depot and we accidentally ripped it by sliding a piece of furniture. Definitely glad I found your video I will be using this before my lease is up. (right now the rip is under the furniture so not noticeable) Thank youuuuuuuuuuu
great vid , im coming back after 1 year to watch again because how ever you showed me came out PERFECT last time. Doing it again today on a different floor , just wanna brush up before the attempt.
Great Video!!! Thank you for the head camera. Thank you for not using any silly music. You avoided the mistakes of so many youtube folks. I really appreciate you getting down to business without a lot of extra introductory talking. Your voice was easy to listen to and understand. I would say God Bless You, but I think you have been blessed already, and you are sharing your blessings with me. Thank you so very much!!
I used the same basic idea on some wallpaper repair years ago. I never even thought about it being a flooring fix also. Have to keep that in my bag of tricks for floors and walls.
jc86 Great idea I’ll do that occasionally if there is more to do but that was just one so I didn’t really feel the necessity but that is a great idea appreciate you watching and commenting by the way I’m trying to reach 1000 subscribers by February 20 RUclips is changing some stuff around so I need to have 1000 subscribers before February 20 if you could spread the word around I would greatly appreciate it
Thank you so much... I just bought a house with no major items to repair (that I know of yet) just things I'd like to do... Meanwhile my son's 10 month old German Shepherd tore up a bit bigger area than what you repaired. Wanted to work on the yard and not replace the Kitchen and Dining rm flooring so this video seems like it will help me. I have the left over flooring and you have given me the incentive to give it a try myself. now all I need is the courage to make those seams look as nice as you did.Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I have been watching you repair the patch hole, over and over, I have a patch hole to fix, watching you I can do it, as long as do what have said, You Awesome ! Note I seen other videos LOL they need to watch yours and learn how to do it right, God Bless you for your skills, I Now I saved us 700,00$ from replacing the floor vinyl! Buddy
I just found a spot in my apartment where the vinyl was ripped just like that but I have a weird wood grain design vinyl and I feel like that would be tricky to fix BUT I now know how to fix it if I ever have to/if my maintainence guy can’t. But this was a wonderful and informative video!!
Hi I’m a 20 something year old single lady who just spent the last 25 minutes sobbing into my apartments now torn vinyl floors and you are GOING TO SAVE MEEEEEEE FLOOR MASTER MANNNN
My girlfriend and I just moved into a new apartment and getting our fridge we had the same thing. Good to see all 20 somethings are out here messing up the floor and relying on the internet

He did a Fabulous job of demonstrating with instruction! This will be my go to method going forward. Will need to use caution when vinyl atop vinyl. Thank You!
Awesome video! I have several places to fix on my vinyl floor. I was torn between trying to fix it myself and hiring someone to do it. Most want $150.. just to show up , that's if they show up or even answer their phone. Thanks so much for the learning!
I see what you mean now about spreading the glue. Man that's a flawless patch job, great work. I never thought to add vinyl repairs but now I am interested in that service.
Thank you!!!!!! This is going to help me so very much. The fridge had sheet metal feet, I didn’t realize that, and so when I moved it-the feet tore the floor.
Excellent video!!! I hope Lowe's still has my pattern in, I only need half what you just did... Love the camera, instead of screwing around, you gave the exact view people want.
Thank you ,. normally I'll cut in a game register or something like that. Now I don't have to do it that way. I'll try your method. You do make it look easy. Nice job.

Good job, man. My fridge tore a hole in my vinyl floor and now I'm here. Only problem is, i dont know if we can find an exact match for our vinyl floor
I just pulled a recliner out to sweep underneath, tried to push it back in and tore my vinyl, painful. I'm going to have to go back and hopefully source another piece or two of the same stuff I have, but I'll be doing this in a day or two.
I'll let you know in a day or two how it went. And when it happened I didn't even have the energy to be angry, I was just shocked, stunned, speechless, lol you name it and I felt it.
That was a nice video, if I had smaller, less texture-heavy blemishes in my vinyl floors, what would you recommend? I'm barely bothered by blemishes but I kind of like working piecemeal on my apartment, so that's something I'm gonna wanna tackle.
Do you have any more of that vinyl? I need that exact kind and can't find any in my area of Lake City Florida. Need a 3 foot x 3 foot piece of that with the wide grout line and 9 inch x 9 inch squares, any way you can help me out?
Just curious, would it not be better to take the new square and lay it on a piece of plywood or something, then lay the old piece with the tear over it and just cut it along the edge? Use the old piece like a stencil so it's exact?
I don’t guess you watched the whole video because I actually laid the new piece on the old piece and cut them both at the same time so it would be perfect

How would I cover a vinyl floor stained underneath it due to toilet seal failure? The leak is repaired by the plumber. The rest of the floor is good. Where would I get stick on vinyl flooring?
It would be the same principle, the exact same steps but easier, most of the time those wood planks look a lot alike, in a wood looking floor it’s not as important to match,
