No because it's cruel to take them from their mother at such a young age and very selfish to keep them in a house when they belong in the jungle roaming free.
I always thought of it as an unrealistic wish. I love monkeys and I spend hours every day watching and researching their behaviors. They are not happy in captivity unless you can provide them other monkeys and unlimited outdoor stimulation. People with single family homes cannot provide that
If I could get a rescue (obviously not likely) I absolutely would love to raise a macaque. I have been researching and investigating, daydreaming. But I couldn't live w myself knowing that a mother was slaughtered or maybe survived but is now grieving a child because I want a baby monkey. I go back and forth because right now the troops are completely overpopulated and they are killing young on their own . But if I can save a baby I would. But I wouldn't decide at maturity whoops not cute and dump it, lock it up etc. Just a dream. They should be w monkeys
If you cared for the animals, then you would not have them as "companions." It is and always will be wrong and what you are doing is showing and telling people that you can keep a wild animal.
@ConwayTwitteryeah all of those you mentioned have been domesticated for thousands of years and depend on humans for survival. Monkeys don’t. They depend on other monkeys and their natural habitats or close enough where they belong. Either do your research properly or don’t comment at all
I use to for years want to get a little monkey, but when I started learning all I could learn about them doing much research I came to realize more than anything it's cruel to keep a monkey pet they need to be with their own kind in a troop in the forest in the trees. Not wearing clothes or diapers not in a cage not in a house they need trees and their troops
Seeing a monkey in clothes and diapers is so infuriating. People that have these monkeys and try to turn them into human children are incredibly selfish.
Yes but these monkeys are more American then most people are in this country. Therevgreat grandparents were bred to be an indoor pet. There moms extra are not from the jungle.
She contradicted herself. She said people make the mistake of thinking it’s human but it is a wild animal, then a while later she said they were just like us an could do anything that humans could. Pet monkeys are a bad idea. I wish all 50 states would make keeping them illegal.
plus she was giving candies from her mouth which is a bad idea to do. It tells a monkey that they out rank you, I have seen wild monkeys taking food from a lower ranking monkeys mouth or youngster that eats out of turn.
Yes they should be illegal and I don't see why anybody would want to own something like that and they are horrible pets and they are horrible creatures!
You don't need to think once, let alone twice. You don't need a monkey and a monkey doesn't need you. It's expensive, it's dangerous, and your life will revolve around it. Finding a vet who can treat it will be a challenge, and also consider that many monkeys that are sold as pets were obtained illegally and were ripped away from their mothers, who were probably killed. The process of obtaining these animals is not ethical.
The USA outlawed importing of monkeys for pets in 1975. Breeders in the States charge AT LEAST $5,000.00 per animal. Please keep in mind that only one fourth of states allow them as pets. They are hideous, filthy, screeching, BITING creatures that are NOT FIT to be pets!
Thank you. This is the most sensible, well-written, and logical comment here. Great points all around-and all rooted in facts, not emotions or opinions. 👍 The only point I’d add is that monkeys can catch AND transmit human illnesses like colds, and that a cold that’s mild for humans could be life-threatening to a monkey or chimp. Due to this, their lives are in constant peril when living in a human home.
That depends, heavily, upon the type of monkey. Pygmy Marmosets are normally captive born and raised now for the pet trade. It tends to make them both easier to handle and care for as well as providing a heartier group compared to the wild caught ones that can easily get sick from diseases from humans and die.
And, transferring candy from her mouth to it’s mouth…🤢 I don’t think that poor guy knew what to say when she done that. That idiotic woman was nothing but a show off, the poor monkey looked scared of her.
I have seen her in a Documentary on TV and I think there is some type of control where you have to show them "you are the alpha". That's where I speculate you kind of make them scared of you, to gain total control of that animal. That's something you don't have to do to a pet dog or cat. I do not believe in monkey breeders because they take them away from the mom at 2 or 3 days. No different than poachers stealing wild babies. Also kissing a momkey or transferring candy from a human to monkey, etc gross! I get jacked up when I see monkey owners that allow them on kitchen counters and some let them put their filthy hands/fingers into food and I have seen the Owner of the capuchin let it dig in and eat the food that was prepared sitting on the kitchen counter. I can't imagine filming that and letting people see just how unsanitary you are.
@@victr2098 You clearly know nothing about basic behaviors of primates. That monkey was not scared of her, if it was it would show a monkey smile other wise also known as "fear grimace" where they smile but they show theyr teeth in response to fear and aggression.
Of course when they are babies, they are adorable and easy to manage. Then they become juveniles and you will raise a monkey stuck in the "terrible twos" stage for 30+ years. I have watched so many videos of surrendered monkeys because most people cannot handle a strong, aggressive 2 year old with sharp teeth for very long. Get a dog or cat and leave wild animals alone.
How do you think dogs became domesticated? You think they just magically were? The way to make a monkey or any other animal domesticated is to keep successive generations as pets.
@@lordofreason549 your talking about 2 totally different animals with major differences in brain function. A monkey is soo much smarter and can do a lot more things than a dog or cat.. Their DNA is the closest to ours of any animal. If you were the monkey would you want to be caged? Also, if you are going to be monkey parents, except an animal that acts like a 2yo for the next 30 years. They need constant interaction!
@@lordofreason549 Actually, domestication requires selective breeding … and _"disposing"_ the animals that aren't selected. Most people don't like to think about that last part, but biological change, whether through natural selection or selective breeding, requires _death._ Good on ya for recognizing that "domestication" can't be done to individual animals, only to entire species. Too many people confuse, "domesticated", for, "tamed" or even for "housebroken".
@@lordofreason549well, if monkeys could be domesticated, they would already be domesticated. Problem is they can’t be domesticated. They live in families/troops and that’s essential to their survival and mental wellbeing. People will just never understand it.
It's nice that the monkey seems to be properly cared for physically, etc. BUT it's MISSING crucial interaction of its own kind both physical interaction and SOCIAL interaction and the structure it provides.
There is a channel on RUclips called monkey boo the guy who raises Boo has other Monkeys he also sets up play dates with other pet owners. Those monkeys require a major investment of time and money to raise properly but in his case he has millions of subscribers and his channel is his full time income.
Shes just showing how fun they seem to be,not how hard they really are. Monkeys can tear your home apart, bite you, carry all sorts of disease. She needs to show the true side of all monkeys, not suger coat it.
She sugar coats it because lets face it american leftist cult cares more about emotions and how the message is delivered. Facts dont even get basic level of tolerance level here in youtube so what makes you think they would show the actual reality about being monkey owner.
Yeah… I’m getting really mixed messages from this video. She showed the monkey getting kind of aggressive at the beginning, but then… off to the toy store! 🤔 She did say she rescued them from previous owners who discarded them, but then… shouldn’t she be trying to discourage other people from making that same mistake, of buying a baby monkey that they later abandon?
So are fish, lizards, and around 90% of everything kept as a pet. Monkeys (or any primates) SHOULD NOT be pets, to be clear. They have complicated social and psychological needs that a human cannot meet, no matter how hard they try (unless they have an entire troop of monkeys living in a giant zoo enclosure). But the “wild animals shouldn’t be pets!” mantra only hurts monkeys and other animals that humans cannot properly care for… because it makes the people speaking out against it look both ignorant and… well… kind of nuts. “Wild” means “not domesticated via selective breeding to the point of becoming a new species”. Tropical fish? Wild. Geckos? Wild. HAMSTERS? Surprise-they’re WILD! Even if their parents going back a hundred generations were born in captivity, they are still a species of wild animal. So please, please… avoid making statements like this, that just make people who are on the fence about getting a monkey think that all the naysayers are over-the-top extremists who want to free all the hamsters and fish.
@@wraith1320 are you referring to my comment? If so, I'm not sure where you got that idea from. Extremist, well, whatever. I just know right from wrong and getting a monkey for a pet is WRONG. There are no two ways about that. Same with a black panther.
@@ritamccomas9271 Nah, I agree with you on those specific animals. Unless someone owns a zoo (or enough cash to build the equivalent of zoo habitats), obtains the animals by ethical means (such as by taking in abandoned primates or big cats from unwise owners who got in over their heads), and also has the knowledge/staff/security to handle potentially VERY dangerous animals, it’s completely unethical to go out and buy a monkey or pantheran. But… did you edit your original comment to add the words “Monkeys are” at the beginning of the first sentence? Because as I recall, the first line was simply “Wild animals should remain in the wild”, which has very different connotations than specifically calling out monkeys and/or panthers as unethical to keep. I would not have had any objections to it as it is now. I only speak up when people start throwing around the words “wild animals” or “exotics” as though they’re inherently problematic, regardless of the species. Some are, some aren’t. They can’t just be indiscriminately lumped together. Sadly, they very often are-by well-meaning animal advocates who don’t fully understand what “exotic” or “wild animals” mean, or how many common, captive bred, and ethically handled pets fit those criteria.
@@wraith1320 I made that comment 8 months ago and I've slept since then!😆 so I don't remember doing an edit! And since (edited) doesn't appear beside my name, I'll say that is a NO to adding wild animals. All wild animals that end up in the hands of a human for whatever reason should be taken to a sanctuary or rehabilitation center. Then if the animals cannot be introduced back into their natural habitat, then and only then would I agree with you. It doesn't matter how good or poorly the living space is, even with their diet being as if in the wild, nothing can replace their natural instinct of wanting to be in their own natural habitat and depending upon the animal, to be with others of their own species as some wild animals are very social. Sooooo, I half way agree with your comment.
@@ritamccomas9271 In that case, I must have misread the initial line-and I do apologize for that mistake. When you say “wild animals”, are you meaning animals that were actually living in the wild and (for whatever reason) ended up in captivity? In that case, I would agree with you in most cases, with the exception of fish/amphibians/reptiles that were collected legally, humanely, and in a way that did not endanger or disrupt the wild population. Collection of those species for the pet trade is essential to conservation, as many are endangered by habitat loss and environmental degradation. Also, those wild caught individuals are typically used to establish genetically diverse, captive-bred populations. However, I fully agree that snatching something like a monkey from its mother and troop is appalling. I think it’s equally appalling to see that happen to captive monkeys bred to produce pets, though… so it isn’t such a matter of it being wild, but of it being a highly intelligent, highly social animal. 😢 Even if they could breed out all the other problematic behaviors, I still wouldn’t be okay with taking a baby monkey away from its mother, when it’s meant to remain with her for years, or even stay within the same troop for life. When I use the term “wild animals”, I’m referring to all non-domesticated species. Most “exotics” being sold and purchased today come from generations of captivity, but are not genetically different enough from their ancestors to be considered “domesticated”. Chinchillas, sugar gliders, bearded dragons, and even cockatiels would fall under this category. They are not actually much-if at all-different than their wild brethren, but they were born in captivity and raised by humans. Breeding for temperament and the like will probably create domestic versions someday (of the mammals at least), just as dogs originally came to be.
I thought like a lot of people that owning a monkey would be easy and not as difficult as even some domesticated animals. However, the more I slowly began to learn about the different breeds the more I began to narrow down to a couple I thought I would want. Then I learned as much as was made available to me about the 2 breeds I had decided would be the best to own. I finally learned that I would never own a monkey, that it would be the other way around. I would never under any circumstance try and take on the care of a primate.
Very good!!!! Glad you made the right choice AND did what you felt was appropriate in terms of research & educating yourself!!!! Very good for you!!! I mean that genuinely! Too many make the mistake of choosing first , their selfish desire / wants and then subject other living beings to their choices, having to learn the hard way , often not considering any damage done by their actions to anyone but themselves, if they even consider that! It’s good that someone who could’ve done the same thing chose instead, to do the research, get involved in educating themselves and being their own advocate as well as making the right decision! Keep it up! Never let this world deter you from remaining true to that behavior and way of thinking…. This world tries to decide for you every step of the way , not wanting people to make logical or good faith decisions, but to be instead , impulsive and erratic in decision making. You seem to have a good heart and good head about you! I do not ever try and go to dramatic lengths to praise what I feel should be done by all as what’s right but something needs to be said about those who do take courage to do what is right bc they don’t always get reminded of or acknowledged for those good wise decisions where I think people do need to be encouraged more of. I pray the lord blesses you TREMENDOUSLY! You seem to have a good heart like I said! Listen to it ( well , I know for me especially I always wanna listen to the lord God/ Jesus Christ/ Holy Spirit and alwyss pray for my heart to be more like the way the lord would have me to live / feel and be , as our own hearts even don’t always know what’s best for us like the lord who made all in existence does! But we are very much encouraged to seek wisdom , discernment and operate out of love , which I’m especially thankful and blessed that God who first loved me and has taught me to love and know what love is, is at work within my heart mind and soul , bc where would I be without the lord ? Wouldn’t ever wanna have to know what that would be like 😂. And I’m not speaking from a place of trying to be “ religious”, I’m only sharing from my heart! But again, I pray the lord blesses you tremendously! Very very wise choices my friend , which you may not have to ever think too much further about , after deciding not to pursue such things, but the good you’ve done , just in not obtaining a wild animal in such a way- that’s going to be a blessing and example that does continue to bless and be a good thing. And maybe others can learn from what you found impactful in your own decision! Def. Keep sharing with others friend ! Take care! I know I don’t know people on here , but wanna add If ever I can pray for anything specific for anyone , you included, I’d be happy to do so! It’s ok if not, but only wanting to mention . All people deserve to have encouragement , to know their concerns and cares and needs are important, they matter , that even if others don’t know their story or things like that, that they still belong and can have others show that care in this world ! Gods love isn’t dead , nor is the need for it !! 💕🙏🏽
Yes. I agree with one of the commentators below. The Monkey Whisperer says that monkeys are not humans and we should expect monkeys to be humans. But then she says they are act like humans or are as smart as humans. Then she takes her monkey shopping as if her monkey is a human. This video has a lot of contradictions. This is the problem with listening to so-called "experts" who contradict themselves. It is like listening to politicians who are suppose to be experts make promises they cannot keep. I would like to trust this lady. But there are just so many contradictions.
Indeed, she also did a lot of signs that she should of never have shown to a monkey in this video such as "smiling" because the monkey will see it as what it is called "Fear Grimace" meaning she was openly showing to that tiny monkey fear & aggression which problably caused that little monkey to attack her hand and bite so much. She is definetly not an expert if she makes such basic mistake with primates which she should supposedly know the best than anyone else.
Yeah this woman isn't an "expert." There are so many self-declared "experts" who actually have _zero_ academic credentials, _zero_ career experience, and _zero_ training. But they have convincing personalities, and so, are able to persuade people to listen to them.
Did Lisa have this monkeys teeth pulled out?? These little guys will bite yoú and from what I’ve seen it’s no joke when you get bit. It looks like muggy has no teeth. I’d like to know if Lisa had his teeth pulled or did they fall out 20 yrs ago. I’m sure muggy has bitten her..
Despite the warnings in the video it is deliberately made to appeal to children by being filmed in a toy store, and to empty-nesters by mimicking a mom playing with baby. Overall I would say this video encourages primate ownership which is irresponsible at best and malicious at worst.
@@myleftnut3934 guess you may need to study up on the ecosystem and how these wild animals are more important to the survival of the planet than you will ever be.
We had a monkey as a sibling , never a dull moment. It had a pet cat. I have millions of stories about that monkey. It did end up going to the zoo to live in the end and was fine with us visiting and always happy to see us but after an hour or so it would head off with its new friends.
bread in captivity, but the way they take the babies from it's mother is heart breaking. They either have to drug the parents cause the father will attack or they net both parents and get the mom to drop the baby and they do this just after the mom has given birth so there's no bonding but it still puts stress on the monkeys. It's all about the money and supply and demand.
@@deathunitesus2135 unlike with monkeys however, cats and dogs get frustrated by a certain point with their young. It’s also potentially a sort of problem to have litters together their whole life. I still get what level of connection you’re making, and hence why getting a dog or cat from ethical breeders is vital as they know what age is appropriate to separate a puppy from their litter.
Considering how much she loves to show her big white smile to that monkey definetly had to be done. Monkeys take smiling as "fear grimace" which is a show of fear and aggression, this stupid karen calls herself a monkey expert which is clearly false.
This is horrible 😢😢😢😢😢. A monkey was never never meant to be a pet. This is horrible and selfish to these beautiful animals. I feel so so sorry and sad for this monkey. ...Della
So how about offering the sugar pill (candy) & even knowing the favorite candy. Great monkey diet No monkeys aren’t pets but it sure looks like she’s got herself one. Bit of a double standard if you ask me.
10:35 See that? That "grin" right there? Humans are the only primate that smiles. That "smile" is actually a fear-grimace - that monkey isn't happy, it's _terrified._
True… sadly that’s not common knowledge for most people… Most people don’t even pay any attention to humans non verbal / social cues /body language / tones, gestures etc. and doesn’t help that scientists for so long tried to have people think animals were only driven and motivated by instinct and had no feelings or sentient thoughts etc/various cognitive & emotional abilities etc. For so long, especially when in my 43 years alone lol, I’ve always paid attention to the basics and have been able to clearly see and understand otherwise, but sadly , many people are oblivious to those things and listen to the opinions of whomever they allow to define their own understanding or knowledge… anyway… yeah, that’s aggravating !
@@lynnhexler-haan3357 Yeah, I was wondering what the, "chittering," as I call the teeth-clacking, was about. So you're saying that in combination, that monkey is going, "I'm _scared!_ Let me out! I'll do whatever you want!"? I'm no primatologist. I am, however, old. so over the decades, I've picked up knowledge such as the thing about humans and smiling. [I also learned, someplace, that only humans cry to show emotion. An animal that has tears running down its face truly does, "just have something in its eyes." But that's off-topic.]
I'm not saying this capuchin monkey was smiling, but research has found that chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans can smile in the same way as humans. They can also laugh. It's a breathy, panting kind of sound when playing, especially when tickled. There's is no grimace, just an open mouth, though, and that's also their "smile."
All someone has to do is smile at one and show their teeth, then you could have a serious problem and huge law suit. Also, the way they get these cute little monkeys is horrible. They go into the jungle and look for moms with new baby monkeys, they shoot the mom and take the clinging baby from it's dead or dying mother. They stick it in a crate and ship it off for sale. You shouldn't even watch videos with pet monkeys, it just exacerbates the problem. Exotic pets should be illegal in the US for health and safety reasons.
I was really hoping for an actual educational video warning people and trying to make them consider not owning a monkey. This just. Seems very pro monkey as pets. Disappointing.
I used to sneak into the zoo and spend hours with a couple of capuchin monkeys feeding them bits of apple. They are crazy smart and funny but they are not pets. These guys have big fangs. This monkey had them removed. That woman should be locked up.
A video like this not only doesn't dissuade wanna be monkey owners, it makes more people want them. Showing a woman playing with a monkey that's closely bonded to her doesn't at all represent the true challenges of money ownership.
She wants to look like the best trainer in the world and look how great your monkey will be if I Train it She makes a lot of Money doing that so of course she's gonna make it Look Like Her monkeys are so easy and wonderful to Take Care of He's thinking about money not people deciding to get a monkey because she makes it look so fun she can care less in reality
I totally agree with your statement. This video suggests more of an advertisement for her Monkey training business, rather than why you should not own a monkey.
Also quite annoying as it’like rubbing in your noise a delicious food, then telling you No No you can't have it , unless you pay for my services and if you are smart enough.
Yes Monkey should be left alone in their natural habitat, but if one has to have a monkey, I believe with Love and dedication it is possible. Like she mentioned if it wasn't from her monkeys protective instinct by attacking that lunatic saving her life. The event demonstrate there is always positive when there is negative, what make the difference is the ability to see through it and follow your gut.
Yeah, "this is how they behave after 24 years" felt almost like a footnote compared to "having a capuchin pet is so cool, now watch us frolic in the toy store", as far as messaging goes
Well I know I’m late to the video and this has absolutely nothing at all to do with the video but I gotta say it……she has the most gorgeous hair I’ve ever seen! I’m a hair stylist so I’ve seen my fair share of nice hair but hers completely surpasses all the rest!
There is not one person in the world who is able to care for a non-human primate the way they need to. They are social animals that live in troops and have specific needs that a big cage in s 3 bedroom house in a suburb with a self-professed monkey whisperer just can’t meet. I’ve seen her in action. She’s very good. But has an enormous ego and at the end of the day, being good at something doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do and it certainly shouldn’t be used to encourage others. 😡
Very good my pale white arse! She made the most basic of mistakes which this so called "expert" should not have done is show a smile with her teeth out to that monkey. I am no expert and i know of this only because my friend is a vet who examines zoo animals mostly primates among other things.
See… that’s the kind of overblown, blanket statement that just encourages people to dismiss all the warnings about not buying monkeys on a whim. Do you understand the definition of “wild” animal? All animals were wild, originally. Some were domesticated over many thousands of years of selective breeding. A dog is domesticated. On the other hand, everything from a gecko to a guppy is still a “wild” animal-regardless of whether they were born in the wild or in captivity. Fish, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates are ALL “wild” animals. To compare keeping a tropical fish tank to buying a highly intelligent primate from someone who tore it from its screaming mother’s arms… is absurd. (For the record, the woman in this video appears to exclusively keep monkeys that have been discarded by previous owners. If she didn’t take them in… many would probably be destroyed, simply because there are nowhere near enough zoos or sanctuaries to take in the many, many monkeys private owners want to be rid of. It isn’t perfect, but I still think it’s a better alternative to destroying the animal, or else leaving it abandoned in the wilderness to die. They have been raised in captivity, so they sadly can’t be expected to survive in their native habitats.)
Wait wait! Wait!? She just said, " All I have to do is give them one signal and they come running ready to attack" why is this lady giving any advice on monkeys when she's clearly encourage them to be violent!?! 😮
a equate that to dogs some dogs are naturally tame some are naturally vicious and some on command will attack any person you want and some without command will defend their owner even when it not necessary
My cousin had a pet 🙊. I met him when he was very young. NO ONE said "Don't touch him." I extended a finger and that horrible a***ole BIT ME! I don't care what some think, monkeys are NOT cute, sweet, or adorable. They are filthy, screaming, BITING creatures that are NOT FIT to be pets! Stick with cats, dogs or birds.
Or not keep as a pet in the first place as they need to be with their own kind, not with their teeth pulled so they can can be toys for stupid and selfish people
Probably seems like owners do that alot...there is this RUclips channel about a monkey , her owner had her teeth taken out , and she is very over weight and feeds her junk...has anyone seen this channel.' paisley bonnet macaque ?
I've always said they were created for the jungles and Forrest not in humans homes it's dangerous for both, I commend u for what u do but I still believe my comment
Many people are judging her. It isn’t kind. She cares about the health and well being of these monkeys and saves them. They are dropped off at her door from owners who no longer want them. Cut her some slack! We are all crazy people in one way or another.
See, this is the only statement needed to put an end to most peoples’ dreams of having a “pet monkey”. 😂 They’re like angry, hormonal teens… but with even LESS self-control and emotional self-regulation!
That lady better buy that chair the monkey sat in because if not somrbody is gonna buy that chair for their kid and there kid is going to probably get some kind of disease
Just listening to this woman claim that she was saved from an attacker inside her home comes off as complete BS. Listening to her speak like a 13 year old girl pretending to be an expert, I was prepared for it.
An old guy told me a tale about the organ grinders monkeys & why they used cups to collect coins. When they were kids, they would heat the coin up on a stove & offer it to the monkey, who would grab the coin. The monkey would then kick off, drop the coin, pick it up, drop it again, pick it back up, all the while getting angrier & angrier. He claimed they started giving the monkeys cups to avoid this happening.
My fancy rats are exotic pets and yes they're expensive but they're litter box trained and they don't need 24/7 care. They are much more intelligent than monkeys.
They're also probably the CLEANEST pet you could own. The cons; propensity for developing respitory infections/cancerous tumors, and a maximum lifespan of a mere 2-3 years.
“These are not pets - they’re wild animals!” ((A few minutes later in the video)) Takes monkey to Toys R Us and proceeds to manically drive it around the store in a doll Jeep 🙄😆
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 This video does a huge disservice to monkeys, and those who genuinely love them, as the wild animals they are. They're magnificent! Not clowns, or toys, or extensions of their owners.
She's a very good person. Regardless of if wrong, and all, the monkeys she has could never be returned to the wild. OTHER people ruined the possibility for that, regrettably.
Definitely not a good idea to own a monkey regardless of the species. What's more, I think parading around with a monkey on your back is a really poor way to tell people that they shouldn't have one as a pet. It sends out the wrong message, as does most of this video.
35 yrs. ago a cpl. invited me over for lunch, but as soon as their door opened i smelled something awful and saw a small pet monkey jumping around (in a diaper) and screeching. They said i'd get used to the smell, but i had to lv. rather quickly. (later they said it would sometimes bite them and rip off its' diaper... OMG, no-thank-you!!)
My sentiments exactly. I can respect them at animal sanctuaries and zoological gardens because those are places designed to care for them and hopefully protect the different species. Homes are not cut out for it, though! Monkeys, apes, and lemurs are not pets! They are wild animals. 🐒 🦧
Well she doesn’t need one for sure. She is loud, and obnoxious. She’s teaching it to be aggressive constantly. This is a terrible example of someone owning a pet of any kind.
This woman seems to have a mental imbalance. That pretty little monkey needs to be with others of her kind in a wooded area/jungle where she can roam freely and be happy with her fellow monkeys.😢😢😢
Thank you very much for this information I find it very valuable not only to me when I watch these videos on monkeys but two other people who need to be educated of the dangers of really having a monkey for a pet🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒
I think most exotic pets need to be staying exotic, I mean I think things like monkeys need to be gone good examples for exotic pets. That should actually be legal are Rusty spotted cats and raccoons both of them can domesticated top tricks and you know your average stuff a domestic pet can do instead of buying a monkey. Just get something more humane and less cruel like a raccoon
Hey Miss Lisa. I was scrolling by . I saw your video . I wanted to let you know. I really honor you. I definitely give ya alot of respect .Meaning taking care of the beautiful 🐒's. Yes they are very a big commitment and a big responsibility. Yes they are like a human just like we are . Can be unpredictable . I also feel some can agree some can disagree . 🐒 I have a friend that has been taken care of them for 30 plus years and she also gets them and rescues them as well but the thing of it is . I'm like you, I just feel that they need a lot of love just like any other animal in the world .Yes they need to be trained they need to be loved they need to be taken care of but a lot of times you know people are killing them they're selling them and they're abusing them so, I'd rather see someone loving them taking care of them and not being mistreated .So that's why, I said we can agree to disagree. Everyone has an opinion and it's okay no one has to agree on everything in life. Keep pushing forward on your journey with caring for 🐒's
@9:49 the monkey is like "yea thats it keep calling me cute and princess while i figure out how to chew throu this damn leash to freedom." Then managed to get her owner to purchase the get away vehicle.
Very informative info, i think was truly thinking about having one, because they are delightful creatures, smart, cute, personable, but now? i think i'll settle for a 🐶😅
Have you ever wanted to own a monkey? Tell us about it!
That b. Itch is crazy and beat that monkey, she didn't train anything
No never! They belong in the wild!
Either do your research properly or don’t comment at all
@ConwayTwitter ok clown
Thank you ,Doctor!
Tell that to this "monkey whisperer"!

Yes but these monkeys are more American then most people are in this country. Therevgreat grandparents were bred to be an indoor pet. There moms extra are not from the jungle.
Good grief, get a puppie or a kitty cat.
She contradicted herself. She said people make the mistake of thinking it’s human but it is a wild animal, then a while later she said they were just like us an could do anything that humans could. Pet monkeys are a bad idea. I wish all 50 states would make keeping them illegal.
Exactly. If it's such a bad idea why does she own one?
Same
plus she was giving candies from her mouth which is a bad idea to do. It tells a monkey that they out rank you, I have seen wild monkeys taking food from a lower ranking monkeys mouth or youngster that eats out of turn.
I was thinking the same thing
Amazingly a lot of them are ethically bred after a lot of states cracked down on it

I don’t think that poor guy knew what to say when she done that.

Yeah, this lady forgot to mention that this monkey's canines are removed. Way too many contradictions.
Most people don't like to think about that last part, but biological change, whether through natural selection or selective breeding, requires _death._
Good on ya for recognizing that "domestication" can't be done to individual animals, only to entire species. Too many people confuse, "domesticated", for, "tamed" or even for "housebroken".

Monkeys are wild animals that should remain in the wild. A panther is a wild animal. So are monkeys. Don't be stupid.
This video doesn't really disuade people from getting a monkey, in my opinion.
Ja, es gibt genug solche Idioten, die sich eine solche abscheuliche Kreatur als Haustier wünschen!
Kissing the monkey like that is preverted
I thought like a lot of people that owning a monkey would be easy and not as difficult as even some domesticated animals. However, the more I slowly began to learn about the different breeds the more I began to narrow down to a couple I thought I would want. Then I learned as much as was made available to me about the 2 breeds I had decided would be the best to own. I finally learned that I would never own a monkey, that it would be the other way around. I would never under any circumstance try and take on the care of a primate.

What a nonsense comment. People have kept monkeys as pets for thousands of years
See… that’s the kind of overblown, blanket statement that just encourages people to dismiss all the warnings about not buying monkeys on a whim.

Many people are judging her. It isn’t kind. She cares about the health and well being of these monkeys and saves them. They are dropped off at her door from owners who no longer want them. Cut her some slack! We are all crazy people in one way or another.
„She’s very calm“ monkey backflips around the room and bites her hands 😏😳
If human kids go thru hormonal issues, imagine a primate!!? NOT pets!
Indeed. When they reach adolescence they get very aggressive.
Omg ikr
You shouldn’t be complacent with monkeys who ARE NOT strangers too! Monkeys should NEVER be owned as pets. Period.
They are wild animals not dolls .they should be where they belong.......rain forest etc.not dressed up in dolls clothes. Shocking 😢
Trained? You mean beaten.
100% correct, Rita. Monkey see, monkey do or monkey gets punished. End of story.
Cant be tamed, they are wild. And they usually attack other humans because they get attached to their owner
Monkeys cannot be owned. They are not property.
Well obviously they can, she owns that one.
@@elainekent7026 just because it has been taken to live with her doesnt mean she owns it, any more than she would own a kidnapped human.
My fancy rats are exotic pets and yes they're expensive but they're litter box trained and they don't need 24/7 care. They are much more intelligent than monkeys.
Contrary to popular belief these things really aren't that intelligent. Apes are intelligent. Monkeys not so much.
They're also probably the CLEANEST pet you could own. The cons; propensity for developing respitory infections/cancerous tumors, and a maximum lifespan of a mere 2-3 years.
Why would anyone want something that suits and passes all over bites and screeches and carries bad diseases
Primates are NOT PETS.
“These are not pets - they’re wild animals!”
((A few minutes later in the video))
Takes monkey to Toys R Us and proceeds to manically drive it around the store in a doll Jeep 🙄😆
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This video does a huge disservice to monkeys, and those who genuinely love them, as the wild animals they are.
They're magnificent! Not clowns, or toys, or extensions of their owners.
The sheer hypocrisy and worst of all is she doesn’t even see it
As with everything in life - it takes a certain type of person to keep and train monkeys and do so safely.
All this should tell you, monkeys aren't pets! 🤨
I was chased by one on a trip to India, by a temple in Shimla …and nearly attacked! I hate monkeys 🙉!!
Me too! Monkeys are ugly and nasty Creatures! I hate them!
I wouldn't have to think at all about having this as a pet. NO WAY! UGH!
35 yrs. ago a cpl. invited me over for lunch, but as soon as their door
opened i smelled something awful and saw a small pet monkey
jumping around (in a diaper) and screeching. They said i'd get used
to the smell, but i had to lv. rather quickly. (later they said it would
sometimes bite them and rip off its' diaper... OMG, no-thank-you!!)
I may be wrong, but is that a fear grimace when she is on the car in the toy shop. Also, she’s seems to have had all her teeth removed ?!
Those monkeys normally have fearsome canine teeth. It's the norm to have their canine teeth removed. This besides the spaying and neutering.
Yes. Think twice, and if you still think it's a good idea go ahead think some more.
i do like monkeys, but i think they're best admired at a respectful distance. wouldn't want one in my home.
My sentiments exactly. I can respect them at animal sanctuaries and zoological gardens because those are places designed to care for them and hopefully protect the different species. Homes are not cut out for it, though! Monkeys, apes, and lemurs are not pets! They are wild animals. 🐒 🦧
This lady is horrible its not a human baby why dress the poor thing its wild and should be living wild its cruel.
I do not think that any wild exotic animal should be kept as a pet, it's wrong
I dont think exotic humans should be allowed in public.
Shes lying about being attacked those beasts didnt save her
I'll never understand why people do this? Go adopt a shelter dog. Monkeys don't belong in a house.
These people always think only they know how to keep the exotic pet. So cruel to keep these animals isolated and imprisoned for the owners pleasure.
Can't help but notice the canine teeth are removed...
I never knew "inseparatable" was a word.
Just leave them in the wild
Thank you very much for this information I find it very valuable not only to me when I watch these videos on monkeys but two other people who need to be educated of the dangers of really having a monkey for a pet🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒
WILD ANIMALS ARE NOT PETS!!! SANCTUARIES OR FREEDOM!!! STOP ABUSING ANIMALS FOR YOUR PLEASURE!!! THEY HAVE SOULS AND MUST BE RESPECTED!!!
24 years of changing his diapers, no thanks!
If I’m not mistaken, their canines are removed.
What do you think of the Helping Hands organization and their monkeys trained to assist the disabled?
All the people that want monkey for a pet are disgusting
So how does that lady go about taming her monkeys?
By dressing them as humans and pushing them around in toy cars, apparently.
Id be concerned about transmission of disease where she is always kissing it.
Now, you really don't know what your talking about ......
I have a friend that has been taken care of them for 30 plus years and she also gets them and rescues them as well but the thing of it is .
Try a relationship with a woman born under the sign of the monkey.
She's a lot of work.
I wonder if somewhere out in the Universe super intelligent Apes exist that want to keep us as beloved "pets". Would it be such a bad life?
@9:49 the monkey is like "yea thats it keep calling me cute and princess while i figure out how to chew throu this damn leash to freedom." Then managed to get her owner to purchase the get away vehicle.
Its a dangerous thing to allow into a toy shop
Very informative info, i think was truly thinking about having one, because they are delightful creatures, smart, cute, personable, but now? i think i'll settle for a 🐶😅
Talk all that ish, then take her to a damn you store...smh.
Ridiculous !
