Luna is a mother hen it’s beautiful how she protects her babies just her quiet presence sets the rules . It’s great how gradually Dex starts to realize u guys are ok and he lets them be around him , nose to nose , kittens are very relaxed one even lays next to Dex 😊. So lovely to see them all together 😊. 💜

When I introduce my puppies to their father. The Veterinarian told me to place a blanket in the puppies sleeping area so there scent can be on it. After a couple of days. I placed the blanket with the Dad. He became use to them. He was overprotective of them just like the mom.

@MontanaPDX Sometimes that's the only way to calm them down. I have an aggressive cat myself (when it comes to meeting strangers) and there's really no way to punish or lecture them. They don't learn like dogs. Whenever I have a friend coming over I let them sit down in front of my cat for him to get used to their presence and to show him that they're no evil intruders. And I pet him to show him its a nice interaction

The daddo would come all the time and sit on the wall, never ever did he go down. When his wifo would come over on the wall, they'd sit facing each other very politely. Now the kittos are 3 months old and they have started to climb on the wall themselves. Daddo is very very calm with them and even doesn't mind when they come and eat off his share. When momma is not there, daddo comes and watches over. The kittos are quite sassy with him. Initially, when they tried to play with his tail, he slapped but now he is cool. He even twitches his tail to keep them engaged. ❤❤❤

I introduced my boys to their 30lb daddy Big-Yellow (he looked so much like Buster it's crazy) when they were still little babies. He wasn't a nice cat like Buster though, I was his only ally in this world and he didn't like anyone or anything else, except for food and fighting. When he met his boy though, the kitten furiously hissed and backpedalled, basically facing a giant lion, he stood and two hand swatted as his dad came in for a sniff. Yellow took it right to the nose, didn't flinch, sniffed him, and turned to look at me, with the happiest slow blink, he was glowing as he walked away tail flicking, strutting pure pride in every step. He didn't pay any attention to the other ones, but that one that hit him, he said "That's muh boy." 😂 Oldest vid I've got here is of me holding him like a teddy bear. He was such a cool old street cat. I respected him. He was the reigning champion of the town, a true alpha street Tomcat. For such a fierce warrior living through some of the absolute harshest winter colds on record, he lived a long and very eventful life, knowing true friendship despite his brutal and untrusting nature. Really loved that cat. I was proud of him, like if your friend was a champion boxer or something. He was just that kind of awesome. Happy that I still got his sons at least. I'll make sure his legacy carries on, it's what I promised him I'd do as his bro.
Losing a cat is so hard especially once you grew up with from kid-->teenage -->adult .. I fucking cried when I lost my bro Oreo ❗he was literally the brother i wish i had... what's crazy is I fount out all the times he used to lick my head and hair for a hour straight while I'd be laying down is because he was showing dominance over me 😂😂 to me though it was his way of cleaning me and also showing love ..

They are two different animals so thanks for reminding all of us that they are different. However, my perspective as a trainer needs to let you know that they are similar in regards to training. Both are domesticated animals that respond to commands if trained properly. For one similarity, they are both mammals. Cats and dogs also both have four legs with tails and horizontal body posture. They both have fur to keep them warm in the winter months and they both sometimes clean their fur. Another big similarity between cats and dogs is hunting. They both have inborn hunting intuitions, territorial instincts and communicate through body language. Both Are Social Beings That Crave Attention, Affection, and Bonding With People and Pets in Their Home! Therefore training any animal from the start is the best way to insure you will raise a happy, content animal whether that is a dog or a cat. I hope you don’t have a cat or go anywhere near them if this information isn’t obvious to you already.

Looks like Dexter needs a couple of more visits to realize he is a Dad..so proud of Ash, Misty, and Brock for staying on the bed with their growling dad( though Misty seemed frozen in place with her fur standing up..boys were initially but seemed to be curious as time went on.)..also Luna is the most wonderful Mom, putting Dexter in his place and insuring her little ones were safe.. though all of this is natural cat behavior( I havent been around cat introductions before!!), i was a bit nervous..so glad human Dad was right there to supervision.. I'm looking forward to the next episode!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
Kittens did well for the first time with Daddy Dexter. He doesn’t really know they’re his babies. Luna gave him instructions though. Luna is always near to protect. Misty is pensive, Brock was brave to lay close and Ash poked him. They’ll be buddies very soon. Cats being cats.
Overall, I think it went really well for a first meeting. Typical hissing but thankfully no swatting by Buster. Had to laugh at Ash’s “nope” escape right into the box at the start. Ash, Misty, and Brock were little champs who held their own. ❤🤗😽❤️

Stupid from the owner to act like that. The kittens were forced to sit in front of the father, and both kitten and father were scared. If they could have taken THEIR TIME they need to get closer, nobody would have been scared. But that's typical stupid human!
Thank you for this fascinating video. I've never had cats, so I'm no expert in interpreting behaviour, but it seemed that Dexter's growls and general demeanour showed uncertainty rather than aggression. Luna was very quick to step in, but only when necessary; she seemed to be firmly in command. Full marks to the kittens for coping with a growly dad and a gold star to Ash for having the temerity to poke Dad. He truly is the sum of his parents - sounds like Dad,looks like Mum. He also seems to be developing something of her composure. Though not when holding his favourite toy!
Well, I wasn't expecting THAT! Poor little Ash. He looked so confused at first. " What did I do to deserve being hissed at by dad?" But later he & the others did stand their ground. I hope Dexter loosens up and warms up to the kittens before they leave.
You screwed up. Before putting them face to face, you should have brushed Dexter then the kittens without cleaning the brush (in order to put some of his scent on them). If you would have did that, there would have been little to no hissing on his part.

He was definitely interested in sniffing them when it didn't seem like they were ambushing him or getting up in his personal space. And he was also standoffish when it was Ada and her siblings, yet he and Ada get along now. It's just gonna take time with Dexter, he's not the laid back Buster after all.

They are two different animals so thanks for reminding all of us that they are different. However, my perspective as a trainer needs to let you know that they are similar in regards to training. Both are domesticated animals that respond to commands if trained properly. For one similarity, they are both mammals. Cats and dogs also both have four legs with tails and horizontal body posture. They both have fur to keep them warm in the winter months and they both sometimes clean their fur. Another big similarity between cats and dogs is hunting. They both have inborn hunting intuitions, territorial instincts and communicate through body language. Both Are Social Beings That Crave Attention, Affection, and Bonding With People and Pets in Their Home! Therefore training any animal from the start is the best way to insure you will raise a happy, content animal whether that is a dog or a cat. I hope you don’t have a cat or go anywhere near them if this information isn’t obvious to you already.

Looks like Dexter needs a couple of more visits to realize he is a Dad..so proud of Ash, Misty, and Brock for staying on the bed with their growling dad( though Misty seemed frozen in place with her fur standing up..boys were initially but seemed to be curious as time went on.)..also Luna is the most wonderful Mom, putting Dexter in his place and insuring her little ones were safe.. though all of this is natural cat behavior( I havent been around cat introductions before!!), i was a bit nervous..so glad human Dad was right there to supervision.. I'm looking forward to the next episode!!🥰🥰🥰🥰

Kittens did well for the first time with Daddy Dexter. He doesn’t really know they’re his babies. Luna gave him instructions though. Luna is always near to protect. Misty is pensive, Brock was brave to lay close and Ash poked him. They’ll be buddies very soon. Cats being cats.

Overall, I think it went really well for a first meeting. Typical hissing but thankfully no swatting by Buster. Had to laugh at Ash’s “nope” escape right into the box at the start. Ash, Misty, and Brock were little champs who held their own. ❤🤗😽❤️

Just like with humans. Family reunification is not always easy. But Dexter only hissed. He probably still needs time to accept the three newcomers in his environment.💖
Stupid from the owner to act like that. The kittens were forced to sit in front of the father, and both kitten and father were scared. If they could have taken THEIR TIME they need to get closer, nobody would have been scared. But that's typical stupid human!

Thank you for this fascinating video. I've never had cats, so I'm no expert in interpreting behaviour, but it seemed that Dexter's growls and general demeanour showed uncertainty rather than aggression. Luna was very quick to step in, but only when necessary; she seemed to be firmly in command. Full marks to the kittens for coping with a growly dad and a gold star to Ash for having the temerity to poke Dad. He truly is the sum of his parents - sounds like Dad,looks like Mum. He also seems to be developing something of her composure. Though not when holding his favourite toy!

Well, I wasn't expecting THAT! Poor little Ash. He looked so confused at first. " What did I do to deserve being hissed at by dad?" But later he & the others did stand their ground. I hope Dexter loosens up and warms up to the kittens before they leave.
You screwed up. Before putting them face to face, you should have brushed Dexter then the kittens without cleaning the brush (in order to put some of his scent on them). If you would have did that, there would have been little to no hissing on his part.

He was definitely interested in sniffing them when it didn't seem like they were ambushing him or getting up in his personal space. And he was also standoffish when it was Ada and her siblings, yet he and Ada get along now. It's just gonna take time with Dexter, he's not the laid back Buster after all.

Poor Dexter! I always expect to see him with a cigarette pack rolled in the sleeve of his t-shirt, to show he’s one of the cool guys. And the kittens just look at him: “dude, what is your problem?”. Just no respect, poor guy. 💕🇨🇦
Isn't it considered better strategy to let the cats meet on their own terms, rather than forcing the issue by placing the kittens close to Dad? The little ones really could get injured.
