Hearing Dr. Carr weave in stories/ personal experience into the overall subject. Is like watching a master jazz player riffing. It is so beautiful how it all comes together. Thank you to the both of you for this class every Saturday!

I was taught, "When you educate a man, you educate one person, When you educate a woman, you educate a nation". Our Cuban brothers and sisters knew this and put that to use to raise the literacy level in less than a generation. We can to if we put our minds to it. I have learn through life and spiritual experiences that one person (including our parents) can't be everything to all people. Tupac's mom gave him all he needed to become the great man he became even with all of her faults. She showed us with all her human faults, she still achieved great things.

Educating a “man” should never be to the exclusion of women. If an institution of learning allows the exclusion of women ... that institution is engaging in a miseducation for all.

Thank you & Dr Carr again. My grandmother was the first black woman to hold a college degree in Williamston, South Carolina. In fact, she held three degrees from Tuskegee University. Teaching, nursing and cosmetology. She used her education to teach, heal the sick, and make her neighbors pretty every Saturday in time for church on Sunday. I attended third grade there, at the elementary school my great-great-grandparents helped to establish on our property. My third grade teacher was taught to read when she was a child by my grandmother.

The organizations you mentioned are focused on us STAYING within the system and not focusing on us building WITHIN our OWN communities. We are depending on them to speak for us and we don't need them to. We need to come together as a collective to do for ourselves bc this system is not for us and never was. This was an AWESOME class. I love the way you are trying to get our people to THINK. Thank you sister Karen ❤😊

“THE THING THAT WE ARE TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM” BARZZZZ!! Our problem is them! We continue to try to mimic what is not natural to us to the detriment of our existence.
Dr. Carr if you feel like you should have done more could you imagine how some of us feel? You did exactly what you were supposed to do which was be ready for your season and this is your season! Right now, is your season and we are all here, waiting for instructions. We are the kids Pac was talking to that have been in a grief coma after losing the ones we looked up to like Pac and Khalid and we are finally waking up from our grief coma. That is why Nick Cannon sought you out because our age range want to know what to read, how to better lead our families and how to confidently make those decisions. We have to find a platform somewhere that allows us to show unity and make progress because it doesn’t currently exist! Excellent Discussion Auntie Karen. I would like to join any organization that is pushing for reparations where would you and Dr. Carr reccomend I go?
P.S. Yall already shamed me into not voting for my wife for President lol I am not about to let yall shame me into staying in this country lmao…. The only way to save America is to leave her otherwise we are just enabling the dysfunction making us complicit in our own destruction. It takes serious balls to GTFOH which I believe Pac would have agreed with. King towards the end was talking about reparations and land which I believe would have evolved into a sovereignty conversation similar to the native Americans ultimately leading to africa.

Back in the 1960's-70's my mother worked, in the Town Of North Hempstead, for an organization called the Economic `Opportunity Council (EOC) . She began as a Housing Coordinator and finished as the "acting" Executive Director. During those years, the EOC managed to create programs for everything from Youth Leadership Workshops to Employment Programs for recently released convicts. Learning the political landscape from the likes of the late William Lynch, Jr., to a visit with the late , great Muhammad Ali at his training camp in Pennsylvania, the connections which were made, during those years were enduring and cause me to appreciate these lessons which you and Dr. Carr generously provide even more. Connections.. I was also fortunate enough to have once met and talked with Afeni Shakur in Atlanta (RIP) and also , by sad coincidence, to have spoken with her (by telephone) just 2 days after Tupac was shot and killed. For me, every topic you raise seems to be bringing me full circle in order to try to understand my purpose. How can I be useful?

Another powerful uplifting enlightening class with you and Dr. Carr! The entire class from the opening is just what was needed by us- this circle of learning♥️ Today, when Dr. Carr momentarily paused in moments of deep thought and critical reverence to Tupac, I bought lost it! This is what happens when light keeps taking us further! Sometimes, involuntarily, we pause in that Light and bask? That’s what it seems like. I be doing this at home, gathered in this light. My God! I love and appreciate ya’ll.

This is a fascinating class/discussion. There’s something amiss with the stagnant state of native Blacks in this country. There’s nothing new under the sun is a cliche for sure. Yet, the youth of today is fiesty... so this generation appears to be moving in a new action direction to get something done for Black people without adding all the other groups to the cause. They are authentically themselves. Not much time for the overly critical talk. They are about action!

Dr. Carr - Thank you for your honesty and admitting the shame you feel in regards to Tupac. Here is where we must began: admitting where we have failed our people "to our people". Then the barriers of distrust will be removed and we can finally see our leaders as "people too" who are reachable and able to understand what it means to fail at something. Then we can "connect as one" knowing we all suffer like things together. We say it, but we don't actually get to see or hear it from a leader or an elder. I respect and admire you greatly, even more so after your admission. The sincerity on this broadcast is EPIC! Please don't change...

I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We are a battleground state so every vote counts. I just spoke to a young person today about voting. He was a Bernie fan.
So he says that even though he doesn't like the current White House resident, he can't bring himself to vote for Biden. I told him a non-vote is a vote for #45. He says, "that's not how math works." I told him it has nothing to do with math. It has to do with how our electorate is set.

I used to live in the Northside, now new Ken, but when are we going to start demanding something tangible for our vote, we're the only ppl who vote just to vote, most don't even know the policies or anything. Voting for the options given to you is not really a choice at all, and if I use your logic if I don't vote if that's a vote for trump then shouldn't it be one for biden as well?, We have to come up with other options if the ones we have hasn't worked, we're acting like voting dem in this cycle means something, both candidates have told us their focus would be immigrants. Not only that but even cities and states that are democrat ran are the places where black ppl are getting murdered and receiving no justice, and most of the ppl in position to bring us justice are black, this means these are handpicked negroes!

They asked me to take a seat and wait for someone to come out and help me. I picked up their book, their sponsor book. The corporation that I was coming in about was one of their main sponsors! Thank so much Prof. Hunter and Dr. Carr. Dr. Carr almost had me shed a tear toward the end talking about being ashamed of not doing enough. Both of you have done tremendous work that can't be measured. You've definitely given me so much in such a short time. Eyes open, heart open, thinking and reading constantly in the midst of all this craziness in this country. And then I'm on the west coast out here, wearing my mask and everything, working hard, breathing in smoke from all the fires on top of everything else. We got trucks dumping mail and all that crazy stuff. I could go on and on lol.. Whew! Life is a trip right now but believe me, these in class moments on saturdays are soooo needed and soooo necessary! I appreciate you guys. Take good care...

In many communities people are eager and ready to work ...if its a curriculum that can be organized and bought to walk through our history and contributions and schools of thought that would be awesome...I’m in Arkansas and Texas and we are eager to teach and train but need direction on how to do it ...I will pay to get this curated for our young people

Love what you Professor Hunter and Dr Carr are doing and teaching. This is priceless, so inspiring and educational. I'm from the UK and so much of the things you are talking about black people and African diaspora are experiencing in UK is very similar to USA.
    Thank you

Once again, another great class. The Killer Mike's and Ice Cube's are well intentioned brothers, I believe. But they must stop this universal anthem going around on T-Shirts and other platforms that "I am not my ancestors".
